William Bentinck was Gov 1828-1835 so He was the First Governor General Of India [ Refer NCERT and Laxmikant ] . Whereas Warren hasting was Governor in 1774-1785. In 1772 He was Governor of Fort William . The Regulating act of 1773 Brought the presidency of madras and Bombay under Bengal and Governor of Bengal came to be known as Gov General Of Bengal . Warren hasting was thus first gov gen of Bengal . Hope this clears your confusion Shailja and thanks for watching the video with such concentration , and verifying when in Doubt , these are great traits of a Successful student . All The best :)

In exam i dn't think that such confusing options will not be given.But choose the most correct one among the options. ATB
