Quite a misleading title. 99.9999% of the "foreign" tourists are Chinese from other provinces. At any given time the foreign (non Chinese) population of Shanghai as a percentage of the overall population of Shanghai (25 million) is about 0.0005%. In summary, Shanghai is crowded with Chinese people, not foreigners (non Chinese).
I spent 6 weeks in China traveling around. Shanghai was my least favourite place. Too many tourists everywhere there lol. Not the real China, sorry just my opinion. Hangzhou, Chengdu and Beijing all better cities to visit to get the Chinese city vibe.
@@weitravel Thanks, yes I had a wonderful time in those weeks. I travelled with a Chinese friend and we stayed only in local hotels mixing with locals. I was very lucky to have such an opportunity. 😀
