but I feel like its not breaking up as much as not making music anymore bc they didn't say they're "breaking up bc creative differences" I feel like all the members still love and respect each other but they've just come to a point where they need to settle down and all that jazz I mean they've been around for almost 20 years with no significant breaks and that's a really long time to dedicate to music nonstop pretty much but yeah it definitely still hurts
well, technically they're already falling apart since Ocean Avenue, but they still holding on until now. I hate the fact that they're always losing original members everytime new albums comes out, especially the last one when LP gone. I love Yellowcard, but I wish they can get their shit together.
+Kyle Solberg you just don't get it, I love Yellowcard. I love their albums from Ocean Avenue until Southern Air. what I'm saying is it just a shame that they kept changing their personels so many times until they lost their identity as a pop-punk band. Yes, I think Ocean Avenue was their basic genre (post-trash punk from original members), they were admirably stay that way until Southern Air and I love them for it, but then I listened to Lift of Sail and I don't like it because it was just not feel like them. "people like me" would want them to be what they were used to be. now I don't care if you still like them, but what I hear is not Yellowcard that I love. I guess I'm not one of those die-hard fans.
+johancakep what the heck are you talking about? yeah they changed bassist once since OA, mendez stepped in on guitar after OA and is WAY better than their previous, LP was there til lift a sail, and ryan and sean have always been there. i have seen bands go through a lot of line up changes and this is not one of them.. i miss lp's drumming but the band at its core is still there. i love ocean avenue but i thought they only got better after that even if it wasn't as popular or mainstream for others, mainly cause people just can't seem to keep up with bands for some reason. When You're Through Thinking Say Yes and Southern Air were phenomenal albums that remind me of ocean avenue but with balls.
Honestly, I feel as though that this just one taste of the album is going to make me cry. Not cry of sadness but cry at how beautiful it is and how they will manage to tie it all up in one album and I just want to thank them all SO SO SO MUCH for all the memories that they gave me. Listening to their songs, jamming to their tunes and all the friends Ive made through them. Thank you Yellowcard. Thank you for everything.
zmose _ Ocean Ave is a great Yellowcard album. But Lights and Sounds is one of the greatest albums of all time. I know music is subjective, but I don't understand the comparison.
Loïc Labonne of course I'm still here lol. I'm not leaving YC they my favorite of all time and my thoughts will always be let out on everything they've put out. But that's cool that someone has seen my comments on almost every YC song XD
ChattGM Well Im a big YC fan, started to listen to them when I heard their song Breathing on Burnout 3 and Way Away from SSX3 and I fell instantly in love! And while listening to all of their songs, well you were in those comments :P
That's awesome. Way Away was what started it all for me and made me a huge fan of theirs. But that's so cool that I was in all those comments when you listened to them. Glad they all stood out so they can be remembered easily :D
I am 34 and sent this to my ex who fucking hurt the shit out of me as a finally fu. no more pain for me. always remember kids, music transcends age. music will always be a key moment in your life, be it happiness, sadness, or just a song when you're bored. YELLOWCARD had a song which fit every mood in my life.

I can also see why they described this album as similar in feel to Paper Walls. I wonder if this song is in any way related to the partial paralysis of ryan's wife.. Also this song is (according to wikipedia) set to be 6 minutes 25 seconds on the album so I look forward to seeing how that's different to this version Also this video is lovely and so beautifully shot And those people have really really pretty eyes also the harmonies in this are so bang on i love it
:'( same, I've been following Yellowcard all my life...almost two decades of great music and inspiration, and they're splitting up. They deserve the rest, by all means, but dad gummit... I never even got to see them in concert.
I have spent a few minutes responding to 7 year old comments. Am very curious about the current state of all Yellowcard fans. Respond if possible . Yellowcard forever🤘🤘🤘
Last year was so hard for me... So many trouble in my life, I was thinking I couldn't survive. Hearing this music is giving me joy and a relax feeling. I am happy now. I can see some hope now. I survived. I can say now: the hurt is gone. Thanks, Yellowcard.
My biggest dream is to escape my country and explore the world. And this song (and the band) is the only reason why im not giving up. Thank you, Yellowcard, im only 24 and still have got time ❤
I honestly came back to this music video after watching Blink-182's "She's Out Of Her Mind" video. I liked that song at best, but the music video was a recreation of "What's My Age Again" that reminded me why I keep coming back to Yellowcard. Some of us do wish that bands could go back to making music in their prime like it's 2004. There are bands you grow out of, and there are bands you grow up with. For me, YC was the later. They're a band that knows their audience, and they don't seem to care about criticism. I saw a Facebook post of someone openly saying this album wasn't his/her cup of tea, and they were okay with it. They wanted to put out the best music they could ever compose, and with every listen and replay I felt that. I miss there pop punk lenient sounds of Ocean Avenue and One For The Kids, but I also love the experimental sounds in Lift A Sail, the dark imagery in Lights and Sounds, and the mixed bag that is Paper Walls. I'm sad and happy that it's their last record, but what you should take away from this is respect the artists and their creative path. You don't have to like everything, but sometimes the best art doesn't (and shouldn't) have to play to expectations (again..."She's Out Of Her Mind" video).
I never understand why people get so upset when a band splits. Okay sure there won't be any new music, but they still provided an abundant amount of good music to listen to. So does it even matter? Shadows and Regrets is still one of my biggest anthems after so many years.
I just woke up and thought you said autistic and I was very ready to shit talk you (I don't think calling someone/something autistic is an insult buts one people do and it's stupid)
Guys, this song is great! It has been on repeat the whole day. The violins are incredible. Please guys, this can't be the end. Yellowcard has so much to give. The Hurt won't be gone if this band breaks up.
This song gives me physical pain in my chest. These guys are one of the first big bands of my generation that I liked a whole album from (can't lie, I'm an Ocean Avenue lover) and they've been with me since I was 10 years old (around 2003-2004 range). They never got as far as they deserved, but I hope they'll all be happier now.
Dear Yellowcard..You've always been one of those bands that grew up listening with. Too bad I never got the chance to see you guys live :( And now you're breaking up it's sad. I hope to see you all together in the future maybe? Where the hurt that I feel now is gone. I love you guys and this band.
US, UK, Germany, Australia, Russia, Japan. Check their tour dates see if they will be coming near you. They hitting a lot of places on their final tour.
This song is so perfect and heart-touching for people struggling for a break-up, it tells you what you don't want to accept in an incredibly gentle and true way.
Thank you Yellowcard. May your futures be bright.. may your candles all burn bright.. and wherever you may be I wish your band the joy of being with loved ones and making up for lost time. You All deserve a Pat on the Back... youre all glorious! A Billion Thankyou's!!!
Goodbye, Yellowcard, my all-time favorite band. I'm really sad to see you guys go... :( Real music has lost another great band. But I want to support you in this decision. All things may come to an end but your legacy left behind won't be stopped. Thank you for all the wonderful songs with heartfelt memories.
Songs like this or why I love Yellowcard so much. These guys help me through a lot growing up and I'm glad we had as much time listening to their music as we did because they gave us some truly amazing songs.
I'm going to miss Yellowcard. But, if they feel it's time to stop, we have to respect their wishes. So, thank you Ryan, Ryan, Sean, Josh, Longineu, and all past members for their contributions to this band and to music. We love you guys. Yellowcard: 1997-2017
Never was much a Yellowcard fan a few years ago, but Lift A Sail is one of the best albums I've ever heard and I think Yellowcard truly comes alive with this style of music. I cannot wait for their new album and I will truly miss them. Have a great one guys.
Thank you Yellowcard for been the soundtrack of my life so far, I’m sad because I couldn’t see you live, you were the main motivation to make a band. You will never be forgotten, i’ll carry you for the rest of my life and make everyone hear you guys! Once again....THANK YOU!!!!!
So i barely even know anything about this band and I just found this song and read through the comments and saw that they're putting their career to a finish just gets to me. Like this song gets to me in general because it reminds me of my girlfriend and it gets to me even more that I discovered these guys too late and I won't be able to seem them live because they're putting their music career to an end.
es radio doble 9!
Criminally underrated song. Nostalgic, positive, and hopeful
I just binged their entire discography, this is one of the few songs that I instantly remembered and loved after first listen
You said it best robbie
This is so beautiful. It really sounds like a goodbye song.
And maybe it was...
Can't believe it's been 4 years since this was last released. Missing this band.
6 and counting
Now its 7 years. Hope you are doing well @Erin-bc8ic
@@Erin-bc8ic Unfortunately there is no way of finding out. Its best to enjoy every second like its the last.
The hurt is definitely NOT gone knowing that they're breaking up
But if we hold onto them tightly, it will be gone soon.

To those that are complaining about it not sounding like traditional yellow card songs remember "change comes for you even when your hiding out" ;)
It's as if "Everlong" and "1979" had a beautiful baby ...

This song gives 90’s alternative rock vibes.
Thank god for Yellowcard.

Just saw them this past week, so glad they’re touring again. This song was incredible live it’s got such a solid vibe

Hi @michaelclark2097 hope you are doing well. You are 40 now how insane is that? Halla back if you are alive.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I don't know how they managed to put out absolute jams for 15 years, but they did. They went out on top.
Who else has been with them since Ocean Avenue?
More like Still Standing EP
When I look into your eeeeeeeyes I caaaan seeeeeee....

Yellowcard clearly want to release an album that ties up everything they've done as a band and I really like the direction this is heading. And those people have really really pretty eyes
also the harmonies in this are so bang on i love it
I'm about to jam it on Apple Music and tell you what's different
Essentially it just keeps doing the main riff and ryan keeps singing "the hurt is gone" "yeah it's gone"
There's also a build up that leads into the next track on the album "Empty Streets" which leads me to believe it'll be a faster track
Robert Elkins oh awesome! thanks for letting me know, i'll have to check it out :)
Lift A Sail was a lot about Ryan's wife's paralysis
I AM NOT READY FOR THEM TO END NOOOOO

They will be back. They said this before and came back. It's only a matter of time.
It seems you can feel Yellowcard's hurt while playing that song sounds so melancholic...beautiful song!

This song is beautifully heartbreaking...
Thank you for everything, Yellowcard. Thank you.
It's such a beautiful video for a great song, I'm gonna miss Yellowcard
