he seems like such a real person. i feel like he can just teach the world a lot about being yourself and being a creative and happy person. i would love to speak to him for even 2 minutes. “devil in me” is by far one of my songs right now. v proud of him :)
he's such a sweet creature, I would never guess he's that humble and down to earth.. sometimes we're so fascinated by an "aesthetic" that we don't kinda see the person behind it. he's a true one 🤍
Jamie is such an inspiring, insightful and real artist and a person. I'm always interested in what he has to say. Thank you for the interview, you did a great job Rob.
I was just waiting for the moment this guy would have returned on screen because I knew from the first time I saw him he had a great potential. Now here I am watching all the possible interviews. So proud of him, I'm sure this is just the beginning and we'll see him again in other projects. So much support to you Jamie, great singer and actor and a truly angel as person.❤️ Great interview! Good job❣️
it is so nice to see an interview about Jamies music rather than everything being about stranger things. it helps you catch more of a glimpse of who he truly is. he seems like such an intelligent and sweet man. thank you for this interview!
I felt what he said about "darkness." I've fallen into a void over the last few weeks, and I'm someone who used to bury negative feelings deep within my being. It worked a lot of times, and I always came out as if nothing had happened. But then something happened recently that resurfaced all of my feelings that I had bottled up for a long time. And it was not the situation you wanna be in. Even though I have a strong core, it is not enough to keep me from falling apart. What happened recently simply reminded me that I need to acknowledge my feelings, that I need to confront those negative emotions, because I agree that once you acknowledge and confront those feelings, you will learn a lot about your true self and will be over it in no time. That's exactly what I did. Now, I'm better than before. I'm no longer fooling myself into thinking I'm always strong. I allowed myself to feel the sadness, emptiness, and nothingness and eventually work on it to overcome the situation. Thank you for this jamie, truly inspirational. For context, 24:43 of this video.
Its crazy how he can just match anyones vibe. He is like this calm elegant british~ sort of guy and then he can totally change to this rock and roll type of guy.
huge thanks for the interview ♥️I adore long versions. and I’m so happy and proud of Jamie. what a unique human being! he’s so soft-spoken (omg his golden voice!!), mindful and spiritually gifted. I never tire of learning from him. I wish him success in his career in general.
Thank You!!! I love always doing long form interviews especially about their creative process but wasn’t sure if music fans still like them! :) I’m extremely happy with this interview and everything Jamie said about his process! Thanks for watching Tasha! -rob
Jamie is such an inspiring, beautiful & an incredibly talented person. He’s so well-spoken, insightful, creative, positive and EVERYTHING. Not only he’s talented, but also an incredible person who can teach the world on how to be an amazing person like him. So, so in love with him & his happy personality !! 🫶
I'm honestly so damn happy I've discovered this amazingly beautiful, intelligent and talented human! How have I missed him!? Thankyou Stranger Things 😘 💓 ☺ 💖 ❤ 💕 😘
What an incredible interview with a truly profound, brilliant artist. Rob, I so appreciate that unlike countless interviewers, you gave Jamie the space to answer your thoughtful questions with the soul-deep POVs he offers; the kind of perspectives which make a huge impact and that we all can learn so much from, particularly if we are also in a creative field. Jamie's creative process is extraordinary because he sticks to the raw, organic, unfiltered truth of his voice & music, and that is so unique. To be honest, he has been my favorite actor for over eleven years. Although you focus on his music here, which is fantastic, the truth is that first and foremost, he is a genuine artist, and what makes him so outstanding is that he applies the most unique creative process to his acting as well as his music. His role as Kit Marlowe inspired an antihero in my first novel; he's a true muse for me as a writer. As far as his music is concerned, I was lucky enough to see him live in Counterfeit before they disbanded; he gave all, embracing being "ruined" in the moment through electric live performances Although it was quite a sad shock at the time to learn that the band members were going their separate ways, what he's doing as a soloist far supercedes anything he did with his band(I realize this is probably a controversial opinion amongst die hard Counterfeit lovers). With *Start the Fire* and *Paralysed* he created a whole new genre of music that I totally fell in love with as his playing & singing on the piano is moving and beautiful beyond belief. The full range of his deep, dark, gorgeous voice is showcased in his masterpiece that is The Prologue, as it is in the gritty organic "Run On" which is another amazing new sound where he's expanding on the idea of southern gospel punk blues; Nick Cave overtones a magical addition to the mix, especially in the soulful, raw "Devil In Me." When he talks about instrumentation and composition, it's clear that his talents also lean toward the production side of music, and the idea that these recordings are made in one to three takes is mind-blowing. Also, I am 💯 on board with his approach to editing. One's most authentic work is generally the rawest and closest to the original. It's refreshing to not overproduce sounds, over-edit anything; whether that be in writing, art, or music. Over-editing lends a sense of commercialization, and the magic inherent in any imperfections of genuine expression can be wiped out. The Inferno & the void & his thoughts about plunging into the abyss is just so relevant to me as a writer, and based on certain circumstances I am evolving through. So it is beyond healing and inspiring to hear his thoughts on everything, even depression. I just have the utmost respect for him and since most of my artistic muses are dead, this is a rare delight indeed to hear this Angel of Creativity share his internal processes; it's a gift and I am so glad I am here for it.
Love his long answers. I get to learn more about how his great mind works. I loved him before and I love him even more now. He's such a great actor and his passion for music just made me fall even harder. Such a humble, charming person. Everything about him just screams perfection. I hope we get to see more of him although I kinda like that he's not that exposed with the media. I'll support whatever he does from now on. Really enjoyed this interview btw 🤟🏻
First of all I wanted to write some words to you, Rob. Thank you for this great, deep interview and interesting questions. I think what most captivated me is you didn't interrupt your interlocutor, you just listened without making unnecessary comments. And it's not very common nowadays. That was so great! Secondly, thank you for talking only about music, not Vecna :) Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate Jamie's part in Stranger Things, but to me he's basically a damn good musician. Many people know him from movies, I „discovered” him through music. The interview is just too beautiful: the way Jamie talks about the music, the proccess of creating, inspirations. I can feel his love and passion for what he does. The depth of Jamie's words is incredible. It makes me almost angry that many people see him mostly as a cute guy form movies or series. I would love people too go deeper, maybe through this interview, to see much more than his pretty face.
