Update on the life span/durability of this brand of wiper blades: They lasted about as long as the OEM brand, maybe a little longer, but that could have been lucky timing with the seasons. I would be happy using these regularly, however, my most recent purchase was a pair of Bosch wipers made specifically for the Crosstrek. I've liked their Icon line of wipers so I wanted to try out these AeroTwin wipers. If the Bosch wipers flop, these Aero wipers will probably be my go-to replacement set. The Bosch AeroTwin wipers have been on the car for about a week at this point, so all I can report on them so far is that they connect like the OEM and Aero wipers (they have the guide that more generic fit wipers don't).
Wow, that's much higher than I got mine for! I would pay a little more for the Bosch than the other two options, maybe up to $3 more, but I just looked at the Bosch AeroTwin versus the Aero brand, and I would hands down get the Aero brand right now. (At the time of this comment, the Bosch wipers are almost twice as much.)
Thank you for this video and *especially* the video description. It was beyond frustrating that no "Universal Wiper Set" I could find would fit our 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Now I know to either get these aftermarkets OR the OEM ones. You're a hero !
Great useful video!!! I bought from Rock Auto last October the 3 wipers, Exact Fit made by Trico. I have not needed them yet so have not use them yet. My 18 Crosstrek has 7100 miles so I have them waiting to be used when the others wear out. I remember the past couple of years owners mentioning the trouble finding ones that would easy fit with no issues. I like the way the fronts fit as my previous Subaru and Volkswagens had the hook type set up. The other thing that I have done for the past 10 years or so is that I park my car facing north so it doesn't get the full sun exposure. I think it helps longevity on both the rubber of the wipers, front, and the plastic headlight covering. Prolonging the yellowing of those headlights. One thing for sure it can only help not hurt. But the little 12 inch rear wiper is the sacrificial lamb!
That parking technique definitely helps the life span. I remember in Florida, wipers would get destroyed by the sun pretty quickly! I definitely need to replace the rear Crosstrek wiper again soon. The 4Runner on the other hand... The rear wiper on that lives hidden away up inside a chunky spoiler thing. Should be interesting to see how long it lasts! I remember you mentioning those Trico Exact Fit wipers... Forgot to check them out between then and this video! They didn't show up on the search I was using at the time.
Thank-you !! I was really irritated trying to change out my wipers on my 2021 Crosstrek . Driver side was easy, then i got to the passenger side ..oh boy ..I didnt know I could modify the blade .
I just came back from Walmart with a second set of wiper blades that didn't fit. I thought I was stupid or crazy. Nope - Subaru just makes things difficult.
I tried a handful of aftermarket ones from Amazon on mine, and none of them lasted more than a week before they started to streak. A month or so before they were so bad I had to replace them. Gave up and just bought the OEM ones again because I know I get a good life out of them. I'll keep these in mind for next time. It looks like they're able to make use of the rubber inserts so you don't need whole new baldes everytime?
Thanks! Yeah, definitely. "Why does that guy have such a complicated camera set up when he's just standing there not doing anything?" - People in cars driving by, probably.

Where did you find the Bosch wipers?
The Bosch wipers are now over $55 for a set of 2. Would you still recommend the Bosch ICON over these at that price point?

@@CarsSimplified can you link or provide the Bosch part number that fit your Crosstrek?

That end of the video was pure gold 😂
Thank you for making this video, I have a 2019 Crosstrek and I am having trouble finding windshield wipers that fit.

I don't even use the rear wiper, never have, never will. It's useless.

just spent an hour in the walmart parking lot looking like a dumbass in the cold when i realized they dont sell wiper blades with this button adapter

this was really helpful. Been trying to find a set. Mine always have a misses spot in the center lol
QUESTION: Where did you buy the stick that you used to detach the wiper blade? 🤣
When you say you got the same life span would that include changing the rubber replacement they give with aero blades ?
Got wipers from Costco
Sizes 26” and 16”
Hopefully it’ll fit.
Thanks for the video.
Did it fit?
I got mine from costco and not even the extra attachments helped. Waste of money 🥲
I wonder if there is a conversation kit or a replacement wiper arms that accepts a different type of blade.
Thank you
Nice vid!
How bout the rear wiper ?
Perfect 👍 thanks
Thanks for sharing.
It's effed up that Subaru would go to a proprietary wiper blade when everyone else in the automotive world uses a standard🤔
Ugh, waiting for cars to pass while filming is the worst. You feel like an idiot standing there with the camera rolling. Nice video!

No link? How do I find them?
The links are in the description after the first two paragraphs.
Will these fit my 2014 cross trek?
I looked up what the 2014's wipers look like and they seem to have the J hook type blades, so these won't fit.
You were supposed to leave a comment on durability. So......
Ah, thanks for the reminder! I actually just changed my wipers last week, so I got about the same lifespan out of them as OEM Subaru wipers.
RainX blades fit just fine
which ones?? all the ones i find have a j hook or pin adapter not this weird slide in button
**** you subaru.
O
Thanks my brother needed a new wind shield and asked me to change it for him 🫥
