@@boingboingresearcherph.d.2871 this is exactly what my point is. Hololive fans will mostly think 'not start' with my treasure box for some reasons that we all already know. But that doesn't change the fact how difficult that song was from a vocal coach perspective. There for i want to see more of a vocal technique breakdown on the song so people can see 'my treasure box' on different point of view
The song starts off Suisei confessing her feelings of being a vtuber as if talking to a crowd(?), person who doesn’t know her. She mentions rumors one or two that she didn’t know, which refers to how harsh strangers could be towards her and vtubers. By halfway the story changes for her to not compromise a specific value, inviting people who could accept her as the same person with the same pounding heart as we all are. I actually audibly gasped when I saw this recommended. I've been watching you from before and it's such an amazing feeling having my favorite vocal coach channel react to my oshi. Thank you so much! ❤
one thing to note is that like other girls in hololive she first used a high pitch voice all the time thinking she had to speak like that to keep her fans , but after needing to see a doctors about the strain it was causing her she had to lower it and now speak normally unless she gets super excited, and we love her for it and she knows it.
I love that you're exploring more from The first take performances and Japanese music. Isn't it fun to know the diff. techniques or styles of diff. countries with regard to singing? Love the butterfly print on your top BTW, my fave print
It's awesome how much you find to talk about even without physically seeing the performance. I adore the warmth of her lower range and how she blends it so seamlessly to the higher parts. What a fun song and video, thanks Kat!
cool that you are interested in her livestreams as well. her karaokestreams havent really been happening recently, but her concert streams or "3d-lives" are always excellent. "Shining memory" and "Selfish of a routh stone" are my favourites and She uploaded sneak peaks of her irl concert Shout in Crisis as well. Do you plan a reaction or do you just meant viewing privately?
Thanks for the Suisei reaction! I learned a lot. It really did feel like this song was her comfort song. Michizure is the title track to her second album so maybe that's why
I actually just saw your previous video reviewing stellar stellar and loved both videos. Thank you so much for the in-depth and very interesting analysis of my favorite Japanese artist! If you have the time to I hope you could check out one of her lesser known songs called ‘blue rose’, the most pleasing song of her’s in my opinion!
again, thanks for a more technical analysis of suisei's song that isn't just your run of the mill reaction. I don't sing at all but I was a musician in the past (growing up for over 10 years) so this sort of tech breakdown always intrigues the right part of my brain. Definitely check out her other songs (next color planet is always good) and kobo kanaeru (kobo has a lot of good acoustic covers that showcase her voice more with less of a backing track). I highly believe kobo kanaeru is another diamond in the rough just like suisei was when she first started hololive; she just needs the same vocal coach/profressional push to get her on what I think could be the same level as kobo has that certain "diva" quality in her voice that you could also hear from very early suisei. Looking forward to your next analysis!
i would ADORE to see you react to ado's cover of crime and punishment. it would be so interesting to see your reaction and analysis to the amount of vocal technique ado uses in the cover.
Yeah, JP music likes to be on the melodramatic side. I think it's because of the JP social norms of not expressing one's self publicly, so they tend to go more extreme in everything else.
Suisei has two albums, Still Still Stellar (has all her songs up til 2020, including the first ones where she was using a higher voice) and Specter (the one with Michizure on it). It'd be awesome if you could go through each!
I've been following you for years now, and I've been a Hololive fan for an even longer time, never in my wildest dreams I imagined I'd see you reacting to one of them! The first reaction suprised me, but I just assumed you were curious about vtubers and that was it. Seeing you react to Suisei again got me in my feels here. Sui-chan is so dear to me. I adore her as a person and as an entertainer, she's so genuine and good at what she does, but thinking about her as an artist is what really moves me. She's such a gem. Multi-talented, self made, hardworking and so, so, SO deserving of everything she's achieving. Knowing the path that took her here, knowing how difficult things were for her, and how close she was from giving up on her dream, this really makes me emotional; me watching you reacting to her on the first take, for a second time, like you did with many of Japan's most famous singers! I feel like a proud mom, hearing you compliment her 💙 Thank you for another great video, you're my favorite vocal coach reactor, by far! If you ever feel like doing a more unserious, fun video, I recommend you watch this clip of Suisei singing while playing tetris against a bunch of people. Even if you don't react to it, it's worth the watch, it's a glimpse on Suisei's very silly personality, and her other biggest talent: being insane good at tetris lol ua-cam.com/video/7ht8TkuRgLA/v-deo.html
Thank you so so much! You are super sweet and kind. I appreciate it tons. I am definitely going down the rabbit hole haha. Does Sui speak english? I would love to have an interview with her. :)
@@Katriinka That would be so cool, but unfortunately one of the few things Suisei can't do is speak english, which is funny considering her mom is an english teacher lol I hope you have a nice time going down the rabbit hole though 💙
I just watched your reaction to Suisei's performance of "Stellar Stellar" on The First Take before watching this video. I enjoyed hearing from your perspective while reacting to this. I know this is 2 months since the upload, but I hope that the next VTuber you listen to is Ironmouse. She has sung various songs and covers on streams, including opera songs like "When I Look At You". If I recall correctly, she was classically trained. However, she began to suffer from a genetic disease called CVID(Common Variable Immuno-Deficiency), followed by I believe a lung disease. After being bedridden for a considerable amount of time, she became a VTuber and has gradually been regaining strength both physically and vocally. When I first heard her sing opera, I was stunned by the difference in how her speaking voice and her singing voice sounded. Her singing voice is impressive even without the handicap of her medical history. For the record, she has sung "When I Look At You" more than once over the years. Her more recent performances have the least amount of hindrances from her health and show how far she's come.
Loved the analysis. As you said, she puts a lot of emotion and the translation shows why she starts low and keeps getting brighter and brighter with each chorus
Thank you for this reaction! Some of her full live need stream ticket to watch and I think the ticket had sold out already. The good news is, her 2rd live Shout in Crisis' CD, DVD and BD are about to come, you may check them if you interested in her live performance. And I recommend a song named プラネタリウム, which means Planetarium in english. The reason I recommended this song is because I think it's some kind like a acappella song, only a little instruments there but full with her voice. I won't say something like “well do a reaction for this song", it's just a good song that worth to listen.
If you get back around to Suisei again, I would love to see a breakdown of the Debutante ball. It's currently my favorite song by Suisei and I adore it so much.
I would like to suggest all of Hololive EN for the variety in their voices and Diamond City Lights from Nijisanji EN which is done by the members of the generation LazuLight. If you want to check out Diamond City Lights, I recommend going with the live 3D performance as it's quite recent so they improved a lot as well as being to put more emotion into it than the original recording of it. The original was done for their debuts so that was a few years ago now.
So I don't know if you've ever stumbled upon this but the Hololive girls actually did a performance for the anime Zombieland Saga - Franchouchou "Saga Jihen." It wasn't in the show itself but for the album and was lead by Suisei and featured the Myth generation (Pekora, Marine, Noel, Flare and Rushia). It's a lot more jazzy than Suisei's regular performances but could still be fun to watch even just for yourself if not for the channel.
I think in vocal perspective checking sakamata chloe would be really awesome too considering her range and how easily she can switch back and forth. Best example is her voice in song P.E.T
If you get back to doing a Suisei song again, should do Debutante Ball, the only song in the album she co-wrote, with Nio-P. A smooth jazz genre song and probably the best showcase so far of her voice with minimal vocal effects, and solidly in her range
If you want more Suisei I'd recommend listening to her work on midnight grand orchestra, it needs more love and recognition, some of my favorite music from Suisei can be found there
I remember you liked watching recording videos so I wanted to recommend doing a Stray Kids Intro Part 3: Recording video reaction, it's the studio recording of S-Class ^^
I really enjoy your videos, rather than a "reaction" it's more you're giving a technical analysis and I'm honestly learning a lot about singing in ways I had no idea existed. It makes me appreciate vocal talents people have cultivated much more. Being a big fan of Hololive brought me here but genuinely great content otherwise.
SEVENTEEN- same dream, same mind, same night You definitely need to check this beautiful masterpiece if you haven’t yet, One of their best songs and ABSOLUTELY the best intro EVER
Hi Katriinka! Hope you get back reacting to SB19 videos and performances. They have released a new single “Gento” and will be releasing an EP by June 9. Looking forward to more of your reactions to SB19. Thank you so much
I’d love to see you react to some other hololive vtubers. Some of the talent from the english and indonesian branches are just as talented as Suisei. I’d recommend IRyS, Mori Calliope, Nerissa Ravencroft, Kobo Kanaeru, and Moona Hoshinova. There’s another EN member that debuted that has a very strong singing voice that doesn’t currently have any solo songs yet named Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame, but she has done some covers and has a good jazz style voice with a lot of range. Mori Calliope does rap and also has some songs where she is just singing. Lots of strong singers in that agency.
I love the puns of the song title. Ayase san produced a really good song to Suichan. As a vtuber, as a singer, she is michizure with us, with her fans.
Thanks for reacting to Suisei, I want to present another interesting Vtubers in Thai. You should try to listen. Eileennior - "Blessing of the Nephilim"
I'd love to see someone who knows about voices react to Amane Kanata's 3dlive version of Unravel. Her rendition of the Unravelling the world scream, is it really as amazing as it sounds? Or is it someone many singers can do? It gave me goosebumps (a rare thing for me) and I don't think I ever heard anyone sing a note that long. At least now a note that sounds so full or air. It's as if she has the lung capacity of a blue whale.
Thanks for another Suichan react! Really love reaction where I learn You might wanna react to Rikka from Holostars (hololive's male side) he did a first take-like video, i recommend his cover I Love. Also Tokino Sora from hololive did one as well, AZKi also but she doesn't have a first take-like video. Their singing is amazing tho and want know their singing technique Outside vtubers tho, Egoist is like one of the oldest with an anime model got an amazing voice
i second this. But i would suggest Risu's performance of Alice&U during her YT music weekend video, rather than the MV. Its done in a more live karaoke style performance
If you are looking for other people in Hololive to listen to I'd recommend Tokino Sora, AZKi, and Watame. They are the other more prolific singers in Hololive. They all have multiple albums and EPs and singles. Kanata does a lot of singing as well, but she mostly sings covers rather than originals, but I would have felt bad if I didn't mention her at all. I think everyone has a few original songs to listen to, or at least one or two depending. I was just listing the others who make singing a major part of their career. I may have missed someone my memory isn't what it used to be.
Frankly speaking… when ever anyone asks me how to describe her singing and persona, I will always say that Suisei is Suisei. She is in a class of her own Also just recently O’ve been tuning in to Ohga Ruko’s singing streams and I do notice that for almost every stream there Will definitely be some songs sung in an operatic voice
Is jumping in and out of headvoice actually straining the voice? I am wondering, because a lot of the talents seem to have throat problems after being active for a while.
nope, not with headvoice. Most people have issues from straining their core/chest voice - belting without mixing when singing out of their natural range. Stellar Stellar would be more dangerous in this case. :) Japanese style of singing is BRAVE and sounds very extreme, for example LiSA - sounds incredibly extreme but her technique is excellent in protecting her - she never really hurts her voice. A lot of young singers hear this and try to immitate it, but in a really incorrect, harmful way. They do it for some time, get hurt, have to be treated. If lucky, they recover and realize they need to be more careful and usually get a vocal coach. I had MANY people like that. :)
@@Katriinka Thanks for the fast answer :D I think most of the hololive girls at least have a vocal coach, some of them mention it from time to time. I do know that Suisei for example has mentioned for some songs that viewers requested, that she won't sing those since it is outside her range. Is that what you would adjust the key of a song for? They recently got an app to do that easier for the songs they are allowed to sing on archived karaoke streams.
@@ShioKoori yes, if a song is out of your range, adjusting the key of a song up or down can help. Some songs may be so far out of your range, or require a larger range from top to bottom than you are capable of though, and no adjusting will make those singable for you.
Hiii i wanted to ask you if you could (if you didnt already) react to baekhyuns solos "cry for love" and "all i got" i promise you you wont regret it, anyways, keep your videos up i rlly like them. Greetings from Germany🇩🇪🫶
was my comment deleted?.. disappeared.. yt comment bug? happened on another video elsewhere as well i really want to recommend Kaf because she performed at the budoukan as the first vtuber to hold a concert at the japanese dream stage.
This is the list i had posted: recommend vsingers from Kamitsubaki, Sinsekai, and 774inc The following 5 are members of a unit called VWP. Kaf - Devour the past Koko - Mirage Code Harusaruhi - Hyakka Ryouran Isekai Joucho - Sirius no shinzou Rim - Carnivorous Plant VWP - Resonance. Resonance is a good introduction to all 5 members Carnivorous Plant is a song that went viral Albemuth is a duo from Sinsekai. They have a very theatre play kind of song though I wouldn't necessarily say a musical. Aru - Tsukikage Asu - Slowly Albemuth - Akai Senrei (red baptism) Albemuth also recently started a Black version of themselves where they sing darker rougher songs. Their first Albemuth black song is Guilty. Rene Ryugasaki from 774inc - Twilight Stream. rene has a very husky radio personality type of voice.
im wondering if there's a yt bug with the comments. this is not the only time i had this happen. also happened on a different youtuber video i commented on.

Suisei confessing her feelings
of being a vtuber
as if talking to a crowd(?), person who doesn’t know her.
She mentions rumors one or two that she didn’t know,
which refers to how harsh strangers could be towards her and vtubers.
By halfway the story changes for her to not compromise a specific value,
inviting people who could accept her as the same person with the same pounding heart as we all are.
Near closing
the whole journey changes into a parade,
she gently guiding us.
“when this road ends…
lets pull out all that we collected during this trip,
and throw all with a smile to each other”
I believe this song is what she envisions
After you know the story
you get to understand where the power,
the ups and downs came from!

Oh wow
It's a little old, but the following is also good
Official Bearded Man-dism - Subtitle
Thanks for another Suichan react! Really love reaction where I learn
You might wanna react to Rikka from Holostars (hololive's male side) he did a first take-like video, i recommend his cover I Love. Also Tokino Sora from hololive did one as well, AZKi also but she doesn't have a first take-like video. Their singing is amazing tho and want know their singing technique
Outside vtubers tho, Egoist is like one of the oldest with an anime model got an amazing voice
I recommend you to react ALiCE&U by Ayunda Risu. This is one of Hollive's best & hard songs
I would like to recommend that you listen to Suisei's Maintenance Song 😁 you will be pleasantly surprised hahaha
Finally!!!
Hello if you don't mind i would like to recommend alice&u by ayunda risu from hololive indonesia, some fans may say she's on par with suisei
i second this. But i would suggest Risu's performance of Alice&U during her YT music weekend video, rather than the MV.
Its done in a more live karaoke style performance
suisei considers risu above herself.
@@siekensou77 ^^^ Its on paper/In her interview right after the first take.
Regarding strictly Hololive,
Suisei put both risu and moona above her.
I still waiting You to reaction Putri Ariani from Indonesia in America got's talent...
I recommend you to react "Alice & U" by Ayunda Risu.
Can you please do TK Unravel...
Frankly speaking… when ever anyone asks me how to describe her singing and persona, I will always say that Suisei is Suisei. She is in a class of her own
Also just recently O’ve been tuning in to Ohga Ruko’s singing streams and I do notice that for almost every stream there Will definitely be some songs sung in an operatic voice

@@Bobbias Ahh I see! Thanks! I am not ver knowledgable about all of this so it is very interesting to get these detailed answers :)
I hope they do Ryushen's "Ai Yori Aoku" too, because I can see the live version until 6/21. ua-cam.com/video/McCvDUiXHuY/v-deo.html

was my comment deleted?.. disappeared.. yt comment bug? happened on another video elsewhere as well
i really want to recommend Kaf because she performed at the budoukan as the first vtuber to hold a concert at the japanese dream stage.
This is the list i had posted:
recommend vsingers from Kamitsubaki, Sinsekai, and 774inc
The following 5 are members of a unit called VWP.
Kaf - Devour the past
Koko - Mirage Code
Harusaruhi - Hyakka Ryouran
Isekai Joucho - Sirius no shinzou
Rim - Carnivorous Plant
VWP - Resonance.
Resonance is a good introduction to all 5 members
Carnivorous Plant is a song that went viral
Albemuth is a duo from Sinsekai. They have a very theatre play kind of song though I wouldn't necessarily say a musical.
Aru - Tsukikage
Asu - Slowly
Albemuth - Akai Senrei (red baptism)
Albemuth also recently started a Black version of themselves where they sing darker rougher songs.
Helooo....plisss react singer CAKRA KHAN......if you vocal coach..❤❤❤❤
Hi Kat, sorry for hi-jacking another video. Just curious if you're still working on that Lily video you mentioned on Haewon's Lee Mujin service?
I am working on Lily video! I couldnt do the one I planned but she will be in a video I plan about most promising singers + solo one :)
but just saying, face filter does not make u to vtuber, that's an other thing again xD
