The whole beta concept with Crabblesnitch being a main antagonist, is to me clearly inspired by James Kirkwood novel "Good Times Bad Times". I reccomend you to check it out. Main character goes to a new school, the headmaster tries to befriend him, he gains his best friend there etc.
Itz POTATO I don't know about that. Think how massive of a game GTA San Andreas was, a !ot bigger than this game, so I'm pretty sure it could've handled it.
San Andreas is way bigger than Bully but doesn't have nearly as much detail. If Bully DID include all of these I doubt it'd be playable on the PS2 honestly. Quite unfortunate to see so much cut out, but looking forward to Bully 2 one day...practically no limits besides time.
This is every games development though, they always plan a bigger scope than they make. It isn't always system limits and time, it's often if they can fit the pieces together down to simple interest and drive running out. Sometimes ideas just don't gel with the game, or they rekon they don't. So they strip it and focus on what they think they can manage, the devs have to stay sane

1:55 in bully trailer 1, the railings of the third floor of the school can be seen from the first floor a few seconds into the trailer in similar angle to the screen shot included in this video. however in both the trailer and the screen shot no pupils can be seen up their, suggesting that the third floor was cut very early in development. Also the stairs where the same as they where in the final version of the game, so maybe the third floor was accessible only through the unused elevator.
5:30 so punching bag is a character? reminds me of Saints row 2 where cutscene props are characters , in one of dev livestreams they changed the player to "Shower Curtain" ... bad things happened
The disabled elevator was going to be used to access the basement because “The Hole” was going to play a bigger part in the school rather than a one use and done. Like with the boxing midgets, we were going to be able to make kids fight each other. The elevator is also how mostly everyone appears at the last fight in Chapter 1. (I strongly believe)
Don't forget there is an elevator in the basement that was originally was supposed to be used to gain access from the basement to the roof. This was cut for unknown reasons. In the final game, the elevator is broken down and unusable.
Even though I'm two years late, I may have figured out what would have been accessed from the garage shutter in the basement. The mineshaft you can see the tunnel to on the beach It doesn't really add up. I think the mine would go down beneath the school if anything. (including beneath the basement)
At 5:46 they do this a lot do Rockstar, they never always match up the interior to the exterior, it would be nice if they did but most of the time the interior model is just nonsensically different. It does sort of break the believability of it and in particular with San Andreas I wished they'd bother to match them up better. I remember playing that and going into houses and thinking that yeah, this is the wrong interior. I generally love their maps, on the outside....they seem to care less about how places look on the inside...while it isn't the most important aspect of their games, more care in them would make it fit together a little better. It's a bit of a shame that the Academy only has two floors but still looks like it has 3. At least with that one you can reason that perhaps for an in game world reason, the second floor was deemed unsafe, or maybe school budget cutbacks could no longer maintain that level so to save money they decided to seal it off or something.
Would be neat if someone developed a mod that would make the map make sense i.e. adding exteriors that line up with the interiors and vice versa. A complete overhaul that will add new elements to this beautiful gem.
Nah, just Rockstar having PS3 era ambitions while stuck in the PS2 era, forcing them to scrap almost all of the game so the PS2 could run it. If they had waited a little while longer, we could have seen something more on the scale of GTA 4 instead of GTA 3.
Can you do a Academy Comparison comparing Bullsworth to an actual Academy one could actually attend in real life. I Understand this is a toddler video[2 years old] and you may have other projects, just an idea if your ever hunting through the wilderness for some content.

Bull worth is based on a couple of schools in the eastern USA like Spaulding HS in the New Hampshire . Also some schools in the hamptons in New York.
