In this video, we're going to show you how you can experience the tropical rainforest on a 1 day trip from San Jose. This tour, called the Authentic Rainforest Experience first took us over towards the Caribbean side to visit a private reserve, 45 minutes outside the city. This park is surrounded by primary and secondary rainforest, making it a great place to see nature and wildlife.
We're going to do the aerial tram but for this tour you can actually choose between the aerial tram and the zipline. We're not going to do the ziplining cause we're going to do the aerial tram and have the guide explain to us about the rainforest but if you want to do the zipline, it's really really good option we've actually done it before, it's really fun i've done it twice so you guys can see what it's like in the next couple clips

As for the aerial tram, the one and a half hour gondola ride was a wonderful way to observe the rainforest up close.
Right now we're located at the rainforest aerial tram, which is part of a private reserve. and its located like 45 minutes from san jose, its by Braulio Carillo national park thats why here you have the opportunity to see wildlife, you have the opportunity to see nature, all the types of rainforest we got in Costa Rica, this section specifically it has one of the best biodiversities or the largest biodiversities, in costa rica we're talking about birds, plants, wildlife which is why its a good tour to explore.
We followed our guide to their reptile am amphibian exhibit to see different frogs and snakes that live in the tropical rainforest. Then we stopped by an enclosed butterfly garden to see beautiful butterflies in various stages of life and finally passed by their hummingbird garden. All of these animals play an incredibly important role in the tropical rainforest and our guide did a fantastic job sharing really interesting facts about them.

After our visit, we drove 45 minutes to our next stop in Sarapiqui.
Selva Verde Lodge protects around 500 acres of tropical rainforest, establishing themselves as one of the worlds premiere eco lodges.
After our 1 hour nature walk, we headed up to the restaurant for lunch, served at the Selva Verde Lodge. They offered a delicious buffet with various salads, veggies, meat and dessert.
After lunch, we headed to our third and last activity of the day - a wildlife watching safari boat ride down the Sarapiqui River. The Sarapiqui River is surrounded by mostly lowlands tropical rainforest, providing homes to many different plants, trees, and animals. As it had rained fairly hard in the afternoon, we unfortunately didn't get to see as much wildlife as usual however we still saw some howler monkeys, white face monkeys, iguanas, herons, crocodiles and other birds. Our guide even shared with us his special howler monkey call, which actually kind of worked.
