My personal translation for this song is that this “angel” is a bad influence on kids, like trying drugs(there are multiple regencies to ecstasy and marijuana), shooting up schools(Barretta 92), self harm(the references to bruise and cuts and holes on the angels right arm), having unsafe sex(crushing chastity, perfumes proudly signaling their coquettishness) and etc. The kidnapping and devouring that the angel is doing is like taking over a kid’s mind and causing them to do horrible things, and that the “corrupted education” is the education system only doing the the kids worse because they don’t provide proper mental health sources and stuff like that. Also, it seems like the whole baby eye thing is the way that the Angel watches people and chooses its next victim, but I’m not exactly sure what it’s meant to symbolize. Maybe it’s meant to be some sort of disguise for the angel to make it look like not that big of a deal so people will look over and not worry about it? I think that might be the case since I really believe this song has something to do with kids turning for the worse.
If the baby's eye is the Angels way of watching people, then wouldn't that mean that we're the next victim? Because one of the lines says "the baby's eye is fixed on you" if I remember correctly
i would also like to mention that i believe the "blurred spots and bruises" on their legs are from krokodil, which is a drug that makes your skin rot in patches like that.
@@Giovansbilly You can make some loose connections. The song Darling ends with "It's a love revolution in the brain!", while this song mentions failed revolutions. The baby theme is both present in Coin Locker Baby and in Uminaoshi. In the video of Uminaoshi, the uterus has two eyes. Uminaoshi also mentions how countless critical conditions are engraved into the singer's eyes and hands. This song mentions many serious situations. I didn't see anyone making SIU references on the original video. I've been trying to think about this for 10 minutes, but I can't think of anything. Maybe someone else will be able to make that connection.
I oddly don’t know why MARETU is my favorite Vocaloid producer, mayber because of the funky beat he produces or the fact that Hatsune Miku’s vocal tone oddly fits her personality
I have been listening for quite a few years now, but I have to admit the edgy themes have fallen off for me lately, maybe I am just too old and apathetic for this stuff now, it seems I have become what I hated most.
@@Somerandomguy524 well man i dont really see maretu as edgy. i dont care too much about the dark stuff. the only one i was like "damn, thats kinda disturbing" was suji. just be like me and enjoy the beat n melody rather than the edginess.
I like this one a lot. It’s so right: is all of this (living for short pleasures, shortened attention spans due to short-form content, bad influences becoming role-models for kids, corrupted news and increasing polarization in politics, fixes we’ve tried to make to politics and education not going through and people resigning themselves to the status quo) really what we want to be showing our kids? They’re always watching and they learn by example, it’s our job to do better. Another Maretu banger
I know there are many different interpretations of this song, but I wanted to say, I survived a school shooting just a few days ago, and that interpretation really resonates with me right now. Even if that wasn't the intended meaning, I feel some sense of understanding from it. I've found a lot of Maretu's songs deeply relatable. As dark or tragic as they are, I find some comfort in these experiences being represented in their authentic, ugly form, instead of getting swept under the rug and forgotten. Thanks for translating and thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and analysis, I always love to read it.
that's so scary! i went through a school shooting too last year and it was traumatizing... i hope you and everyone else were okay! that's a really scary thing to go through
Oh my, that is absolutely horrible. I'm glad you're doing physically okay, I hope you're also doing mentally well. I really understand your feeling, that is the reason why I got drawn into darker songs. Even when some of those songs are not necessarily enjoyable to listen to, they can make you feel really understood like no other song.

Before I yap about how Maretu makes me feel I hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourself :(( (I also hope you’re not haunted by flashbacks or anything..Bcz it’s smth I’m struggling with this year…) What you said in the end is exactly why I love maretu so much, he doesn’t sugarcoat society or even life itself like how the majority tends to, he really wants to raise awareness and show the types of agony some people might go through and at times, it makes these specific people feel seen and that’s really wholesome to me tbh. I myself didn’t go through SA or drug abuse but my childhood was really messed up, due to the emotional unavailability in my life I grew up confused and couldn’t understand my complex emotions… I rarely listened to maretu in the past and had no clue what the three songs I knew were about except magical doctor bcz I always watched the English sub version, but this year I got more interested in reading translations more and listened to so many songs that hit me really hard I won’t rant about how each one specifically impacted me but the majority of them talk about how life is cruel and has a lot of people who are suffering and looked down to, I had these feelings my whole life…but instead of people trying to understand me I was just told to stop complaining and….suck it up (yup I made a SIU reference lol) and so I felt that it’s wrong to feel this way and I should force myself to be positive no matter what…until I got into maretu, he reeeaaally helped me understand myself I’m done yapping but I just wanted to talk about white happy….I’m someone who finds it hard to cry amd even when I cry to a song I just push it away until I feel numb to it (I feel numb most of the time) but for some reason…this song just…like even when I’m numb as hell and feel like I don’t exist the moment I play expecting to feel nothing it still hits me…no matter what I do it still makes me feel something (especially the first prize part) And that’s it I’m finished talking *bows and throws the mike*

FAQs (long): 1. I translated "ハッパハッピーハペチャッカ!"as "Time to ignite and snort a happy roll of marihuana up my nose!". ハッパ is 葉っぱ、slang for weed. ハッピー is happy. ハペ is slang for Rapé, this is where the "snort ... up my nose" comes from. チャッカ is 着火、which means "to ignite". Literally: "weed happy Rapé ignite". I tried formulating that into a sentence. 2. The number 92 occasionally makes sense as 急に (suddenly), but not always. Example: "Angel suddenly ____ pathos spreads in body". I see this more as the angel number 92 (see description), that the abuser thinks they're doing the right thing. 3. Muffled sounds: unsure. I didn't see any Japanese comments mentioning them in the original upload. In the comments below, I really like "suki desu ka" (Do you love me?) and "sugiru ka" (Am I going too far with this?) theories. 4. I see this song from the abuser's perspective, not as the one who is abused. I see this as a person seeing all that corruption and messed up abominations in our world and thus becomes insane, this maniac goes on a rampage but thinks they're doing the right thing (kind of like in the movie Joker). If this were from the victim's perspective and Angel is the abuser, why would the victim care if the abuser "kidnaps *you* " or "devours *you* "? Why would the victim say "Try me !!" while they're enduring the abuse? I saw this more as a "Try me world, I'll give you a taste of me" from the maniac's perspective. Reacting to MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! constructive criticism on VocaloidLyrics (I can't comment there, can someone let them know I reacted?): 1. and 2. Yes, 染み渡る and 突き刺さる are intransitive. "エンゼル92体中に染み渡るパトスさ" --> "Angel 92 ____ pathos spreads in body". Despite it being intransitive, I connected the two. I've seen lyricists write things like "を映る" before. Check out my translations: "Ruby", "Sunrise", "Intelligent", from Clean Tears, or "KALEIDO", "Lily Alert" from Yunosuke. Let's highlight something from Ruby: "透明な時刻む赤色". Had Clean Tears not told me what he meant by that line, I'd have never figured that out. From those songs, I learned not to take things always literally, that I should focus on meanings rather than reflecting the song's grammar perfectly. 3. I translated 異常識 as "corrupt knowledge". This is not 非常識 (irrationality, uncommon sense, absurdity), it is 異常 (abnormal). It's an abnormal common sense --> abnormal way of thinking --> someone's thought process is corrupt. Knowing what happens behind the scenes in that "bloody education" or in politics, it's a corrupt knowledge to have, isn't it? Kind of makes you wish you didn't know those things in the first place. 4. 耳介飾って陶酔 until that line, everything that was described was related to outside circumstances. Why would this be different? It's not *me* who wears ear jewelries or that perfume, it's *others* doing that, and it is causing to corrupt *my* soul. About euphoria vs intoxication, with the right context, 陶酔 can mean "being fascinated / enraptured by". Like in English: "I'm completely intoxicated by you!". 飾る isn't always decorating, I've seen it in "pretending, signaling, feigning" contexts before. It's a stretch, but that line doesn't say much to begin with, it's a difficult line :D 5. and 6. "吐き出された“好き”の残骸にコバエの子" You translated it as "ruins of spat-out "I love you"". I can see how one can spit out an "I love you", but ruins / debris / wreckage of it? Unsure. You highlighted how I made that line unnecessarily "necrophilic-sounding". The lyrics tells us about someone literally holding a baby's eye in their left hand, I think we're pretty much in that territory already :D Like, how else would someone hold a baby's eye? A baby is dead and someone extracted that baby's eye and holds onto it. About コバエの子、where would the fly larvae be? In the "ruins of that spat-out "I love you""? Bringing the tongue into the translation, it is a stretch, agreed. We use our tongues to spit and to say I love you, so the fly larvae reside in there. That was my thought process.
I think chukka can also be an appropriate translation for chakka as even though I don't know if people who do drugs and criminal thingd do that game but it originates from the word cycle/circle in hindi I think it was incorporated into the translation with it's time to but idk
finally a recent song from Maretu I can REALLY feel... the other ones I wasn't really feeling or getting any otherworldly taste, but this one made me vibe and reflect a lot
I don’t have a full theory yet but I do have some things I noticed: The beginning noises sounded oddly similar to the repetition of “no one is safe” in Maretu’s other song Addiction (However I reversed the two and found that while they sounded almost too similar, they were not the same) The symbolism in general seems to be in relation to the lyrics mentioning the baby’s eye within the left hand (which also implies the hand is showing the eye in comparison to holding it because the hand is outward), making the eye the possible angel the title is referencing
idk where people are getting an い sound in the muffled chanting (at the start & throughout), if you listen closely it's definitely something like _う _う (う?) _あ. the consonants are ambiguous in general and the third う might be ん, but the first consonant is definitely a "softer" one like つ tsu す su ふ fu or しゅ shu. my hot take is that i cannot hear the second sound as anything other than ゆ yu, and i think everyone else is crazy for saying anything else. if not yu, it's something else with an う sound, cause there is no い sound in there at all; if it isn't ゆ i think the only other thing it could be is る. like i said the third sound could be う or ん, or possibly うん. the last sound is almost definitely か or だ, it sounds like か to me but ymmv. overall, to me, it sounds a lot like つ ゆ う か, possibly specifically 露雨下, for "downpour of dew/tears"? it might also be しゅ ゆ うん か, as in 須臾雲霞 for "instant haze/a moment of haziness"? hell if i know, i just plugged the kana sequences into takoboto 😭
After listening to this for a awhile and absorbing some of the lyrics, I think this song is about a child learning terrible things through their parents (and maybe school) like hearing them talk abt Polatics or seeing the parents do drugs. The "Angel 92" is a metaphor for those ideas and behaviours. And the the kid spreads the ideas to his kids and it creates a cycle of wrongful influence
This is kinda hard for me to make a theory about since it is kinda all over the place, but I will try to: This song’s singer seems to have some sort of schizotypal disorder, in which is a type of disorder that makes a person uncomfortable with social situations- and also have a distorted view of reality, superstitions and odd behavior. Angel 92 seems like a pure manifestation of this, but far more intense because the singer’s schizotypal disorder is untreated. They believe that Angel 92 are the only salvation from the world, and could “cleanse” all the corruption. They also believe that everything is shit, and that everything can’t be fixed unless angel 92 comes to fix everything. They realize that in order for Angel 92 to be pleased, they needed to do self-harm or anything that could affect their health negatively, which would explain the use of drugs, swirls and holes in their body. And they are entirely convinced that Angel 92 actually exists, and they go insane in the end. Take this with a HUGGEEE grain of salt. The lyrics for me aren’t too easy for me to actually make meaning of but i tried to come up with some sort of explanation.

Larvae live in the spat-out ruins of that mindless "I love you" Disgusting, isn't it? And that girl, she's looking at you And that girl, she's listening to you *Angel 92* *I'll come for you* *In the dead of night, i'll steal you away* *Angel 92* *All over you* *A pathos spreads, invasive madness* *Ha-ha-happy, happechakka!* My vain Intoxication Coquettish Decoration Ruins me, doesn't it? Across the legs, the scent of perfume masks the bruising that took place A bloody situation Corrupted Information Dumb logic, isn't it? Tadpoles and peppers gleefully swim around, in the eyeball's vitreous An eyesore, isn't it? And that girl, she's looking at you Yes at you, she's looking at you *Angel 92* *I'll come for you* *By tonight I will devour you whole* *Angel 92* *And suddenly* *Inside my head, a piercing ecstasy!* *The pathos spreads, a painful mantra* *Ha-ha-happy, happechakka!* *Try me!!*

I love your translation to Angel 92. Angel 92 is one of my favorite songs from Maretu. When the song was released, I was very curious to see the meaning behind the song. So, I did extensive research and made a translation of my own. I am very happy that my translation came out similar to yours and the official one since I cant speak/read Japanese. If you are interested, would you like to see my original translation? I'd love to see your thoughts on it!
I'm actually curious because I havent really seen anyone mention or explain in, but between the lyrics and chrous, Miku is saying something or maybe saying gibberish, and I am unsure if its just for the rhythm of the song or some other thing. Like as in how marching troops make sounds or noises to indicate movement or rhythm timestamps to the noises i mean: 0:10 to 0:18, 0:40 to 0:48, 1:42 to 1:52 and 2:52 to 3:10
I read in another translation that it might be “suki desu ka?” (Do you like it?) take that with a grain of salt though cause I don’t know any Japanese lol
I keep hearing 'sugiru ka?' which is... odd. We use sugiru to say we really -- something, such as suki sugiru (really like it), so it would be like asking 'is this a lot/too much?', that'd be a weird to ask if you're going overboard... Could also be 'tsugi' for 'next'?

(yes im a maretu stan) Maretu's latest song, Angel 92, is a phenomenal piece of music that has captured the hearts of many fans. The song's melody and lyrics are perfectly crafted to evoke strong emotions and inspire listeners. It is no wonder that Angel 92 is quickly becoming one of the most popular songs of the year. One of the things that make this song stand out is Maretu's unique style. He has a way of blending different genres of music to create something that is entirely his own. The song's beat is catchy and upbeat, while the lyrics are thought-provoking and meaningful. The combination of these elements makes it impossible to listen to this song without feeling something. Another aspect of Angel 92 that makes it so great is the production quality. The sound quality is top-notch, and every instrument is perfectly balanced, allowing listeners to appreciate every aspect of the music. The vocals are also outstanding, with Maretu's voice soaring effortlessly over the melody. The song's message is also something that many people can relate to. The lyrics speak to the idea of finding hope and comfort in the face of adversity. In a world that can often be overwhelming and challenging, Angel 92 reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles. Overall, Maretu's Angel 92 is a masterpiece of music that deserves all the attention it is receiving. It is an excellent example of how music can be used to inspire and uplift people, and it is a testament to Maretu's talent as a musician and songwriter.
@poppy_dandy9834 Cause i'm 99% sure it is, after all there are many flaws in that comment like saying that Maretu's voice is soaring through the melody. (Eventhough we all know it is sung by our beloved voicebank Miku and Maretu just produced and tuned it) And saying that the meaning of the song being one many relate too about finding hope out of all things. I believe we all know that, that surely is NOT what a Maretu song out of all things is about. Also this song is far from being one of the most popular of the year. So I believe it is pretty clear that this comment is ai generated or just made it for likes and attention. But nonetheless the comment gave me and I believe many others a good laugh so i'm glad it exists. (Also looking at their channel it is clear the comment is most likely made as a joke.)
@@ChouchooTranslations How do you think, does picture in 'Even though I loved you' look like a revolver front view? I realized it recently, after the mention of Beretta. Though Beretta isn't revolver 🙄 Does weapon mention counts as reference? 😆

Not sure but do yall hear 4657 (in Japanese) in the song? I went on Spotify and saw the lyrics, i saw 4657 and it does sound like it. It seems to be an angel number.
I know it has been a month but uhh 4-6-5-7 could be Goroawase for either "shi-mu-itsu-na" (when will you die?) or "shi-mu-i-na" (don't die), not completely sure tho
okay okay but what if this song is about someone with various addictions due to being seemingly the only person noticing how fucked the world is at this point. and the "baby's eye" represents a phone btw
I think this song is about someone getting sexually abused by someone which caused them to self harm and eventually commit suicide. This song sounds very similar to Suji and Scrumize which both have very similar topics. In the song it says “Striped patterns and clustered groups of holes resides on the right arm” This could be a way of cutting or burning oneself in a way. “A child flies about what remains of a love that was spat out.” They don’t know why they are being abused. the abuser tells them it’s “love” but they think it doesn’t feel like love. “I’m going to take you away” the abuser is going to abuse them they they don’t feel a thing. “I’m going to eat you whole” they could mean eating in a sexual way. 1:11 people at school are looking at them. they have scars on their body from self harm. they are tired from being abused. Some references in the song also relates. 92 in Japanese sounds like (Kyuu ni) which means unexpectedly or swiftly. Angel 92 is probably the abuser. Beretta 92 is a type of gun. Also in the song it says it’s in their hand. This could mean they are probably going to shoot themselfs. The voice in the background says “do you like it?” This could be the abusers voice talking to them.
Interesting theory! i love how the ambiguousness of maretu’s lyrics could make up so many theories by many people and still would make sense In my own personal interpretation, the kid gets bullied(gokuburi no aji) and possibly abused(koukatsu). The kid also has a pessimistic view of the world due to this(white happy). I also think this connects to darling in some way(lines where they practically make fun of love n all). The holes part could be bullet wounds. And in my own interpretation, the kid is religious(in a cultish way) and thought that the best way to deal with this is to “cleanse” the school from “sins” they commited against the shooter
None of those quotes are from my translation. About your theory, I first saw this as something like that. But eventually, it didn't click for me. If Angel is the abuser and I AM the one who is abused, then why do I care if Angel is coming to "kidnap YOU" or "devour YOU" tonight? Why "Try me !!" when I have been abused plentily? And who is the baby / child that is watching and listening? About the numbers being read as kyuu ni so it could be 急に、sure, at some parts, it makes sense, like "Angel will suddenly come and kidnap you tonight". But let's translate things literally then, what about "Angel suddenly ____ pathos spreads in body"? I personally think that the number refers to the angel number 92, that whoever the abuser is, they think they're doing the right thing.
@@ChouchooTranslations I used the quotes from a different translation. And this is just my view of the song not something serious. And I think the child is the one that’s singing
@@Ur_Local_Undertale_Fan No worries, I love reading theories. I should have thought my comment over, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bombard you with all those questions. While I was translating the song, I saw the song like you did. Later on, I asked myself those 3 questions, and I had to change my theory to the current one, that "I AM" the abuser. Seeing how extensive your comment was, I asked those questions hoping perhaps you can fit those into your theory, because I failed to do so.
ok so i have a question in the translation so at 1:41 and in the end of the song there is this line of smoking drugs but I have seen other translations which quite litteraly say along the lines of "hap-happy chakka" I am not question your translation (I myself don't know japanese), rather I want to know why there is such a dramatic change in meaning with that part
That was the most difficult line. The line is ハッパハッピーハペチャッか ハッパ [happa] can be read as 葉っぱ, which means leaf but is a slang for weed. ハッピー [happii] self-evident, happy. ハペ [hape] now this one I had to quite a lot of research, this is a slang for Rapé. Look it up what it is, that is where the "snorting ... up my nose" comes from. チャッカ [chakka] I saw this as 着火, which is to ignite something. So I put that all together into a sentence. I hope that makes sense. MARETU's slang vocabulary related to drugs is extensive, the song PINK is full with it, so I used my judgement to interpret the words that way rather than literally (instead of leaf, I wrote marihuana). Always feel free to question my translations, I won't bite, and as a translator, I should be able to explain my reasons. 😊
@@ChouchooTranslations ohhhh that makes so much more sense now! I think you’re probably right since I think happy chakka really makes much sense (idk I don’t have that broad of a vocabulary lol) especially considering it’s ハペチャッカ and not ハッピー チャッカ. Thanks for explaining!

After listening to this song for 3 days, reading the comments, and pacing around the living room for 10 minutes, I have concluded what this song is about!! TW: Religious themes A lot of people are saying this song is about abuse, but I don't think that's the case. This song is about manipulation, which is technically abuse but what I'm about to talk about might not be the first thing to come to your mind when I say manipulation. I think this is about a messed up person driven by religion (doesn't have to be a pacific one it can just be it overall) and uses it to manipulate people. 00:30 - The person here is probably some form of religious teacher. "Our education which has blood on its hands" "And the failed revolutions" "Corrupt knowledge, don't you think so?" I think what the person here is trying to convey is that other people are teaching it wrong and that it'll go wrong. "The knowledge that they give is corrupt, come to me for the purest to be saved" is what they're trying to convey here 00:29 - Many people think that's a reference to a school shooting with the lines above but I actually think it's symbolic A Beretta 92 is a type of gun. What do guns do? Cause violence. I think the person here is trying to promote violence in the so-called "name of the lord". Now violence doesn't have to be physical, it can be verbal too, which makes more sense in this situation The baby eye (and other occasional mentions of it) is meant to resemble those who can't see through the wrong because their minds are still being developed. In fact adding onto this this person just might be a teacher for the youth ( 1:11 ), which makes this worse. 1:22 - This chorus talks about how this person is the "good guy". They refer to themselves as an "angel", and angels are meant to be good. This makes me believe they're delusional. They also specifically refer to themselves as the angel number 92 which is, quote from the description, "The 92 angel number is a powerful reminder that when we stay true to ourselves, use our creativity, and trust our intuition, anything is possible. It's a sign that we are on the right path and have the courage to pursue our passions and make positive changes in our lives." I think they use this against others to tell them they're doing the right thing. The whole kidnapping thing means they're gathering people around to manipulate them into doing what the person thinks is right. And, as to add to the references, I think they're using various traumatic incidents to justify their actions. Pretty much saying, "So much bad has happened, we must cleanse evil." Plus the following songs mentioned are dark as hell. So what's the moral of this? Be careful of who's teaching you, because they might just take advantage of the power to control you. And the sad thing is that there are actually people out there who are like this. You can find multiple stories centered around this kind of stuff, even from religion. Religion is a precious thing, teach it-- and any other thing-- correctly. @@starpeep5769 Initially, I wanted to go there, but not with 急に (suddenly)、but as 級に (in the class of ...). I wanted to go even a step further, that 92 could be read as 国 "kuni" (country), so the song would be called "Angel Country". I initially thought that the baby is the angel who will bring you, the listener, pathos. But then whose arms and legs are so bruised? Who uses the drugs? Whose soul is getting corrupted? "Mine", the singer's? The angel's? Why is that relevant? If the angel has and does those, why "Try me !!"? It didn't make sense. The only way I could piece all of this together is that the singer is the maniac who calls themselves Angel 92. That is why I posted about the angel number 92 in the description, a maniac who thinks they're doing the right thing.
No, I don't have any of those plans yet. I didn't know about REML yet, I see she was released this August. On this channel, I only upload songs from inactive producers or from producers who don't seem to mind such translation uploads (which is rare). Worst case, I could release raw translations on my blog and comment them under the videos of producers.

"That child" or "that girl" yes. I've never seen it translated this way but who knows, the translation hasn't been fixed/replaced on the wiki yet so maybe it's close enough
It doesn't always makes sense. Yes, at some parts, such as "Angel will suddenly come for you tonight and devour you", okay. But what about エンゼル92体中二染み渡るパトスさ "Angel suddenly ____ pathos spreads in body". I personally think that the number refers to the angel number 92, that this Angel thinks they're doing the right thing.
Beretta 92s are designed for use by law enforcement. In Japan they're used by prefectural police in special tactical teams in the criminal investigations branch accordijg to. Wikipedia bc its summer break and im not doing real research until i get a grade for it. It seems like they have a history of hostage negotiation and that they're related to japan's counter-terroism unit. Idk what that means but Maretu loves references to that kind of shit. My guess would be that it's reflecting on the narrator's view of themselves as a hero or savior or arbiter of justice, which is dangerous because this person's mind and morals are warped?

Me so hgih...,..
I think that might be the case since I really believe this song has something to do with kids turning for the worse.
baby’s eyes could be like… the next generation watching. as one generation gets corrupted, theyll spread that suffering to their children.

Speaking of train noises, I wonder if there's any references to Coin Locker Baby/Rebirth/SIU in the song that don't seem obvious at first
@@Giovansbilly You can make some loose connections.

His picopico and beat sound tingles me
I have been listening for quite a few years now, but I have to admit the edgy themes have fallen off for me lately, maybe I am just too old and apathetic for this stuff now, it seems I have become what I hated most.

@@ChouchooTranslationsThanks for your kindness ❤️ I'm just glad for this community and for people like you sharing music for more audiences to enjoy and feel understood by. It's in times like these that I think that understanding is so important
Before I yap about how Maretu makes me feel I hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourself :(( (I also hope you’re not haunted by flashbacks or anything..Bcz it’s smth I’m struggling with this year…)
What you said in the end is exactly why I love maretu so much, he doesn’t sugarcoat society or even life itself like how the majority tends to, he really wants to raise awareness and show the types of agony some people might go through and at times, it makes these specific people feel seen and that’s really wholesome to me tbh.
I myself didn’t go through SA or drug abuse but my childhood was really messed up, due to the emotional unavailability in my life I grew up confused and couldn’t understand my complex emotions…
I rarely listened to maretu in the past and had no clue what the three songs I knew were about except magical doctor bcz I always watched the English sub version, but this year I got more interested in reading translations more and listened to so many songs that hit me really hard
I won’t rant about how each one specifically impacted me but the majority of them talk about how life is cruel and has a lot of people who are suffering and looked down to, I had these feelings my whole life…but instead of people trying to understand me I was just told to stop complaining and….suck it up (yup I made a SIU reference lol) and so I felt that it’s wrong to feel this way and I should force myself to be positive no matter what…until I got into maretu, he reeeaaally helped me understand myself
I’m done yapping but I just wanted to talk about white happy….I’m someone who finds it hard to cry amd even when I cry to a song I just push it away until I feel numb to it (I feel numb most of the time) but for some reason…this song just…like even when I’m numb as hell and feel like I don’t exist the moment I play expecting to feel nothing it still hits me…no matter what I do it still makes me feel something (especially the first prize part)
And that’s it I’m finished talking *bows and throws the mike*

ALL REFERENCES I’VE FOUND SO FAR IN THIS SONG :
2:03 may be a darling reference
2:51 may be a new darling reference “play with me”/“try me” and (this hand also may have had a wedding ring)
0:52 may be a sujii reference along with how it shows a hand with a severed finger
The baby could potentially be a reference to: scrumize, SIU, uminaoshi, and coin locker baby (it also shows a heart with wings like coin locker baby)
0:29 + 0:49 may be a taste of a cockroach reference
0:32 may be a darling reference with the lyric “it’s a love revolution” or a brain revolution girl reference or a tehamint reference (one of his old songs)
0:56 may be a koukatsu and/or magical doctor reference
The lyrics about drugs may be a I’m high and/or magical doctor reference
1:28 is a white happy reference
2:30 may be a pink and/or even though i loved you reference
1:20 the drums before the chorus remind me of even though i loved you ‘s guitar before the chorus
2:40 may be I’m High reference
0:35 + 1:58 may be a brain revolution girl reference
uhm for the hand with the ring finger down... i searched it up and uh apparently its called a 'Shocker" , and is a hand gesture with a sexual connotation... yeah (i wish i never searched up what it meant oh god) tho it does explain why the eye on the hand turned into a heart tho
How is the kidnapping part a white happy reference I don’t get it 😭😭😭
the song says "ano ko", which isn't necessarily a baby. Ko is also used to refer to children and teens (esp. girls).
FAQs (long):
Reacting to MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! constructive criticism on VocaloidLyrics (I can't comment there, can someone let them know I reacted?):
It's a stretch, but that line doesn't say much to begin with, it's a difficult line :D
I think chukka can also be an appropriate translation for chakka as even though I don't know if people who do drugs and criminal thingd do that game but it originates from the word cycle/circle in hindi
I think it was incorporated into the translation with it's time to but idk
Also the snuff word also brings up the plant hapé

finally a recent song from Maretu I can REALLY feel... the other ones I wasn't really feeling or getting any otherworldly taste, but this one made me vibe and reflect a lot
samee. i was like "eh these are good, but dont have that real vibe" but this one definitely has the vibe.
I don’t have a full theory yet but I do have some things I noticed:
The beginning noises sounded oddly similar to the repetition of “no one is safe” in Maretu’s other song Addiction (However I reversed the two and found that while they sounded almost too similar, they were not the same)
The symbolism in general seems to be in relation to the lyrics mentioning the baby’s eye within the left hand (which also implies the hand is showing the eye in comparison to holding it because the hand is outward), making the eye the possible angel the title is referencing
Update on another thing I realized:
The finger missing at the end is one of the same fingers holding the trigger on a gun, perhaps?
@@gdnd_7484no that finger is the RING finger.
@@gdnd_7484No that finger that is missing is THE RING FINGER
idk where people are getting an い sound in the muffled chanting (at the start & throughout), if you listen closely it's definitely something like _う _う (う?) _あ. the consonants are ambiguous in general and the third う might be ん, but the first consonant is definitely a "softer" one like つ tsu す su ふ fu or しゅ shu. my hot take is that i cannot hear the second sound as anything other than ゆ yu, and i think everyone else is crazy for saying anything else. if not yu, it's something else with an う sound, cause there is no い sound in there at all; if it isn't ゆ i think the only other thing it could be is る. like i said the third sound could be う or ん, or possibly うん. the last sound is almost definitely か or だ, it sounds like か to me but ymmv.
overall, to me, it sounds a lot like つ ゆ う か, possibly specifically 露雨下, for "downpour of dew/tears"? it might also be しゅ ゆ うん か, as in 須臾雲霞 for "instant haze/a moment of haziness"? hell if i know, i just plugged the kana sequences into takoboto 😭
I always heard it as “see you later” but this actually makes way more sense
Well if you go to spotify and read the lyrics you'll see thats its actually saying 4657 (probably in japanese because i cannot hear seven)
I love writing interpretations of songs and yours for this song is amazing holy shit you are amazing
Thank you, I did my best. I tried to think the characters in the song really through. This is the way the song made the most sense to me. 😃
This is kinda hard for me to make a theory about since it is kinda all over the place, but I will try to:
This song’s singer seems to have some sort of schizotypal disorder, in which is a type of disorder that makes a person uncomfortable with social situations- and also have a distorted view of reality, superstitions and odd behavior.

MARETU - エンゼル 92 / ANGEL 92 - ENGLISH SINGABLE LYRICS
-----------
It came too soon, the tension
No I can't pay attention
Unusual, isn't it?
A baby's eye, a Baretta 92, holding them in the left hand
Our bloodstained education
and the failed revolution
Strange logic, isn't it?
Across the right arm spreads wavy scars and holes, and behold, a pattern forms
An eyesore, don't you think so?
Hypocrisy closed the school
The low lives thrive, they feel good
Unusual, isn't it?
The skull is now home to mushrooms a-plenty, covered in mycelium
Trampling chastity
A surging prosperity
Mad logic, isn't it?
Larvae live in the spat-out ruins of that mindless "I love you"
Disgusting, isn't it?
And that girl, she's looking at you
And that girl, she's listening to you
*Angel 92*
*I'll come for you*
*In the dead of night, i'll steal you away*
*Angel 92*
*All over you*
*A pathos spreads, invasive madness*
*Ha-ha-happy, happechakka!*
My vain Intoxication
Coquettish Decoration
Ruins me, doesn't it?
Across the legs, the scent of perfume masks the bruising that took place
A bloody situation
Corrupted Information
Dumb logic, isn't it?
Tadpoles and peppers gleefully swim around, in the eyeball's vitreous
An eyesore, isn't it?
And that girl, she's looking at you
Yes at you, she's looking at you
*Angel 92*
*I'll come for you*
*By tonight I will devour you whole*
*Angel 92*
*And suddenly*
*Inside my head, a piercing ecstasy!*
*The pathos spreads, a painful mantra*
*Ha-ha-happy, happechakka!*
*Try me!!*

I love your translation to Angel 92. Angel 92 is one of my favorite songs from Maretu. When the song was released, I was very curious to see the meaning behind the song. If you are interested, would you like to see my original translation? I'd love to see your thoughts on it!
I love the the vibe to this song honestly, and with the english sub!? This is amazing!
I'm actually curious because I havent really seen anyone mention or explain in, but between the lyrics and chrous, Miku is saying something or maybe saying gibberish, and I am unsure if its just for the rhythm of the song or some other thing. Like as in how marching troops make sounds or noises to indicate movement or rhythm
timestamps to the noises i mean:
0:10 to 0:18, 0:40 to 0:48, 1:42 to 1:52 and 2:52 to 3:10

I read in another translation that it might be “suki desu ka?” (Do you like it?) take that with a grain of salt though cause I don’t know any Japanese lol
I keep hearing 'sugiru ka?' which is... odd. We use sugiru to say we really -- something, such as suki sugiru (really like it), so it would be like asking 'is this a lot/too much?', that'd be a weird to ask if you're going overboard...

Maretu's latest song, Angel 92, is a phenomenal piece of music that has captured the hearts of many fans.

But it only got released yesterday
i swear this relates to Even though I loved you
Is it because of the "I'm going to come for you and devour you tonight." line? 😄
@@ChouchooTranslations How do you think, does picture in 'Even though I loved you' look like a revolver front view? I realized it recently, after the mention of Beretta. Though Beretta isn't revolver 🙄
Does weapon mention counts as reference? 😆
woah that was fast!! ty for the subs :3
Try me!..
That parts wholesome
why are maretu translators so fast
I dropped all my plans when I saw the tweet from MARETU that he'd release a new song. That's why 😆
song goes hard fr fr
As someone who frequents MARETU, idk what the hell snorting a marijuana roll is 😂 and i smoke a lot
Amazing!! If I may ask, I've had trouble figuring what the chanting at 0:41 and at the end means, is it just gibberish? It sounds like counting but I'm not sure
i dont think it means anything
people hear different things but i (and someone else in the comments) hears “su gi ru ka” which translates to “am i going too far with this?”
Not sure but do yall hear 4657 (in Japanese) in the song? I went on Spotify and saw the lyrics, i saw 4657 and it does sound like it. It seems to be an angel number.
Or is it just the Spotify lyrics being wrong? Not so sure..
I’ve searched it up and the meaning of the angel number 4657 is that you should take better decisions.
I know it has been a month but uhh 4-6-5-7 could be Goroawase for either "shi-mu-itsu-na" (when will you die?) or "shi-mu-i-na" (don't die), not completely sure tho
@@HtRo_TheRealDeal hmm true.
okay okay but what if this song is about someone with various addictions due to being seemingly the only person noticing how fucked the world is at this point. and the "baby's eye" represents a phone btw
i like the idea that the babys eye is a phone
i think by phone you probably meant phone camera like the front cam, but if its not mb
Interesting theory! i love how the ambiguousness of maretu’s lyrics could make up so many theories by many people and still would make sense
In my own personal interpretation, the kid gets bullied(gokuburi no aji) and possibly abused(koukatsu).
@@siorganismYou have a cool idea too!
What about angels 1-91?
i eated them
What did they taste like?
They were shot 8D (the 'beretta 92' line is a type of gun)
Angel 92 when angels 1-91 show up to the convention
yeah I think I got that. @@EchoGirl
"and kidnap you tonight" "white happy reference" WHAT!?!?
Seriously I need y’all’s theory, NOW
ok so i have a question in the translation
so at 1:41 and in the end of the song there is this line of smoking drugs
but I have seen other translations which quite litteraly say along the lines of "hap-happy chakka"
I am not question your translation (I myself don't know japanese), rather I want to know why there is such a dramatic change in meaning with that part
Oh yeah I have the same question I thought it was interesting. Instead of ハッピー it says ハペ so maybe that has something to do with it but idk
That was the most difficult line. The line is ハッパハッピーハペチャッか
ハッパ [happa] can be read as 葉っぱ, which means leaf but is a slang for weed.

TW: Religious themes
A lot of people are saying this song is about abuse, but I don't think that's the case.
"Our education which has blood on its hands"
"And the failed revolutions"
"Corrupt knowledge, don't you think so?"
I think what the person here is trying to convey is that other people are teaching it wrong and that it'll go wrong. "The knowledge that they give is corrupt, come to me for the purest to be saved" is what they're trying to convey here
00:29 - Many people think that's a reference to a school shooting with the lines above but I actually think it's symbolic
A Beretta 92 is a type of gun. What do guns do? Cause violence. I think the person here is trying to promote violence in the so-called "name of the lord". Now violence doesn't have to be physical, it can be verbal too, which makes more sense in this situation
The baby eye (and other occasional mentions of it) is meant to resemble those who can't see through the wrong because their minds are still being developed.
Thanks for reading this entire essay on my theory, sorry if I got carried away my inner writer was screaming at me to do this. If I missed something let me know.
Fire song 10/10.
This theory makes a lot of sense, I like it
Thank you!!@@Jiji_pink

@@ChouchooTranslations TYSM

Nice! Any plans on translating any REML (Cevio) songs? :3
