I used to have a beach shelter that folded up like your tent. I lost the directions. It took four PhD candidates about 45 minutes to fold it up. After that, I made about fifty copies of the directions and hid them everywhere. I gave the shelter away years ago, but I still keep finding the directions. So I admire how you managed to fold your shower tent up on the first attempt. Bravo!
Add to the shower tent equipment list: 1: wood slat mat to stand on. (extra one for outside the door) (bamboo mats work great) 2: stiff wire (coat hanger) across the top through the netting to hold the shower head. 3: a: dry bag or other waterproof stuff bag to hold change of clothes and drying towel. b: empty cooler that can hold dry clothes and towels and double as seat inside tent. (also holds TP and other bathroom essentials) If you set up for more than one nights stay, just put the toilet in there to sit on.
The putting down the pop up tent, had me in tears of laughter. Years ago I bought one for the beach for our kids it ended up going home on the roof of the car still upright we could never pop it down😂
Seeing there is no type of floor in that portable shower, I would be concerned about a gust of wind lifting it while I was inside. Now that's a sight that could never be unseen!!!!!!! lol
Found your Cruising The Cut channel the other day and there's something about you that I really enjoy its very strange because I have no relation to boats or anything.. you're great! 👍
Very enjoyable watch.l couldn't help laughing out aloud when you were trying fold the tent 😆. I have given up on pop tents in the past when it comes to trying to get them back into their bag. You did a good job though 👍 " what does that mean!!!" 😆 was reminiscent of a Basil Fawlty sketch. Nice to see you two spend some time together, I had no idea that you were friends. I have enjoyed videos on both your channels in the past.
28.7 thousand people, plus Lorna think "David, are those not the instructions we can clearly see just there?" Well done on the repacking. I had one of the first Lastolites, you'll be familiar with, back in the early 80s. It spent the first week of its life standing fully expanded in the corner while I plucked up the courage to try folding it.
Have you thought of getting an extra-long tub mat? Half inside, leading to outside. Feet remain clean, and outside remains dry. There are rugged ones with rows of large bumps that keep you slip-free. A quick rinse and hang it up to dry over a rod or something. Such a lovely vlog. It's always nice to see your big smiles when you are having fun. PS: There are pop-up shower AND changing room combos, with a panel between to keep the changing area dry. You might like that.
You really didn't have 1.8k views by different people. I'm on pain meds and found this so entertaining I kept watching it over and over. Wow I could hire out as a professional watcher. Well, as long as the meds last.😍
The more videos I watch the more I become convinced that David you are a gadget lover. The very opposite of my ex husband who had an allergy to gadgets (or maybe parting with the money to buy them) He would go to extraordinary lengths to try to create some gadget from scraps. He said it was perfectly feasible to make your own. Sadly they rarely worked.
I made this same comment on LJ’s video. Two boat tubers go van camping together and end up at Billing Aquadrome campground ‘moored’ next to a marina on the (non-CRT) Nene River. Why does that make too much sense? But Mr CC was able to one-up LJ by having a wrestling match with a pop up tent. Too funny. I had flashbacks to watching an Englishman named Stan with an American named Oliver. Thanks for sharing.
I assume by now you’ve noticed, but the tent has a loop of ribbon sewn onto it. Once you have the circle, you slip the loop over it and that just holds it folded up while you put it in and out of the bag. Makes the process slightly easier. The “wait, what? That makes no sense! Oh.... oh my god it worked! It’s magic!” process of folding pop-ups is v familiar to me.
So nice to have a self contained shower! Definitely looks like it could use some modifications though. More storage pockets and an upper loop or rope would be a must. Great to see you motoring again. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Oh David!! I loved your reaction to finally getting the shower folded. Have that problem everytime I use my car window sun cover....so frustrating. Congratulations!🙂
I just started watching Vandemonium. It is a shame it took me so long as I so enjoyed Cruising the Cut. Your wit and oratory skills are "you betcha" worthy. One suggestion for future Vandemonium guy is to put the shower stakes (which I would exchange for wooden in case of vampires) and guy lines somewhere you will not forget for your next trip. Thank you and please continue to boat, camp, and orator on!
Excellent David! Now that you have mastered the shower tent you can progress to the map folding trial. No fair using GPS anymore, paper maps only. ;^) Thank you for the fun video. Have a great week ahead.
I'm waiting for my tent to come, I watched a video of how to fold it on UA-cam! I think I'm going to tie a loop of string onto the zip on the little window thing and hook the shower head into that! I also bought a bigger bucket, as us old gals need more water ;) Glad to see it did the trick though!
Absolutely hilarious VDM! That was laughing out loud for me! Pity my dog was asleep and missed the whole thing. How nice to see the lovely Lorna as well! All in all a good night in for me.
I swear I almost wee’d myself watching you fold up your shower tent. You are a treasure and a hoot. I needed a laugh. South Carolina continues to be overrun with Covid. 😢
When you were screaming "Look Look Look"! at your ability to correctly fold a collapsible shower my dog was on his way to the water bowl. He stopped, turned around and watched. I'm sorry to report he was less impressed with your abilities than you were.
Since March I use a Decathlon pop up shower tent, very easy to fold. Same as yours. The Decathlon tent has a hook on the outside to hang clothes so they stay dry and is open on top, no mesh cover. So you can hang a towel there. I use it on 6 trip and have showered in it for about 25 days now. It comes with a ground sheeth so you are off the grass with your feet. I also have the Decathlon shower, it holds 10 liters and is a closed system that you can pressurise by a handpump build into it. It is black so the water can get warm when you set it in the sun. But after showering warm once and after that with cold water I got used to cold water and now love it. I do not even want to shower in a campsite shower block anymore, it is so much more fun to shower in the open air outside. I am going to try that too in winter, I camp all year with my tent every month I am out and about. The shower head has a a spring loaded button to start the water. It also works great. I always overfill it with 12 liters and can use it for 4 days. I use biosoap so I do not pollute to much. As a matter of fact I am heading out now for 2 weeks camping with the shower tent and shower. I was supposed to go to the UK but sadly quarantine rules put an end to that. So now I stay in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
So sorry, I had to laugh throughout folding that thing because I CAN NOT DO IT! Haaaaaaaaa, thanks so MUCH for the laugh, I really needed it. Now maybe I will be able to do it.
As one human to another I love you. You have a great sense of humor and add joy to my life. Sorry if that sounds self centered. I just want you to know how much you are appreciated.
Oh my..what a great vlog. There's a great little village up the road for amenities if your staying a while..Earls Barton. A co-op, couple of good cafe's and 3 pubs, 2 with good food and a few other nice independent outlets, butchers and pharmacy. So entertaining. Thank you.
I just purchased the Wolf Wise privy tent myself... that, after returning another brand because it had a mesh roof like that, with no rain cover included. That made no sense to me. Might I not need to use the toilet in the rain?? Anyway, I believe reviews like yours got back to Wolf Wise, because mine ( a lovely, faded turquoise color) came with many upgrades: it has a floor, for a start, bordered by mesh to allow water to drain away. It is also SPF 50, with the interior done in white. It has a large, hanging pocket organizer with multiple pockets, and a hanging bar for shower, towels whatever. And it came with a warning to learn how to fold it back up BEFORE going out on your first trip with it... including reminding one to watch a UA-cam video on the subject if the included, pictorial directions don’t help. 😂😂😂
re the shower head, i would attach a small sticky back Velcro pad to the shower head handle and stick it to the top of the shower tent with the added help of a drop of gorilla super glue.......
Most enjoyable video David. You really hogtied that Shower Tent and schooled it on who's the Boss ! So relaxing to see you out and about enjoying the camp ground life, it looks so green there, lots of grass. I wish you a wonderful camping season ;)
Oh let me tell you about my shower tent I had for only one day. I had a solar shower bag, had my nice shower tent up & mine was a little bit fancier then yours. It had shower hooks on the inside to hook your bag up to it. So I filled it up. Stepped out of the tent & it came crashing down to the ground breaking ever pole it came with. If I was inside under the shower bag it would of broke my neck. I was lucky I didn't get hurt. I sent it back to Amazon. Hopefully I'll get a new one soon. I just love to take outdoor showers. I usually take showers with my swimsuit on bc I'm out in the public's eyes. I do love to shower out in the open. I'm so happy yours worked & didn't try to kill you in the process like mine did. Happy trails, Chris from Missouri
Since you didn’t share your showering technique (thank goodness :-), you may already do this: May I suggest flip-flops/shower shoes/thongs worn into the shower. On my ship we wore them all the time we weren’t in our bunks or wearing regular foot ware. “Never go barefoot on a Navy ship!” Same applies to any shared/campsite shower for me. I never had any transmissible foot issues in the four years I was there. As far as drying, you can stand on one and kick the other off to dry that foot. Plus you don’t have to pack or track yet another item like a mat. Educational, enjoyable, and relaxing video, as usual! Thanks!
Ideas: 1. Put the shower up under a tree branch & hang what you need from the branch (you'll need to cut through the net); solved 2. Carry a piece of 6 ft. electrical conduit or some other lightweight piping like plastic pipe, drive a stake into the ground leaving a foot or so sticking up and place the conduit over the stake so it stands, rig a hook near the top and you can put that up inside the shower tent; solved 3. The tent must have some structural poles so try to make a 3 point connection using strap, rope, or hardware up near the top and hang the shower head from it...this may need some creative alteration; easiest solution You are welcome David. lol Enjoyed watching you with Lorna again, have fun.
That shower tent is just what I needed some years ago. Used a tarpaulin, a few lines, a bucket and a ladle. Worked ok, although if there was a little wind the tarp tended to cling to my body much too intimate. Not always the crash-bang method works unpacking and installing things, but most of the time it does. Not this time.... Thanks for the vlog.
I just discovered your channel and found you very entertaining! I had a good laugh over your reaction to getting the shower folded back up. Those pop-ups are always a good laugh when watching someone else give it a go! God bless you for your bravery!
Funnily enough, just watched an advert for a high-pressure showerhead before watching this vlog🚿 🤔Did you try disassembling the hook from the shower holder and sandwiching the material between the two? Well done though for keeping the shower cubicle tamed long enough to get it back in its case! I honestly had visions of it springing right back out again yet you did it with such panache you should have taken a bow🤣
Thank you for that.... entertaining as ever !!! I do enjoy your blogs. I was born and brought up and worked in Northampton, and still go to Billing regularly. Fun fact; in the "old days", when the shoe industry employed hundreds if not thousands of locals, we had "Factory Fortnight" holidays at the same time of year. Then, those that could afford it would take their annual holiday, leaving Northampton and go all the way to stay in static caravans in the far flung corner of the world that is Billing Aquadrome. We still remember it like that to this day!
I love your shower tent. I camped in my Transit Connect in state parks on the Oregon coast for the last two weeks and because of Covid, ALL the showers were closed! Two weeks, mind you! One of my camper neighbors said I could use their shower tent, a Wolfwise, just like yours. It was magnificent!
So hilarious. I laughed out loud seeing you fold up your shower. I so enjoy your sense of adventure, independent drive to tackle your 'projects', share your frustration, sometimes madness, 'jockularity', all great fun and interest. Your are enjoying your life and getting on with it!!! Hugs!
WOW. A Great looking campsite. I like the pop up shower tent. I am writing this on a very cold Wednesday (5/08/ ) night. Here West of Sydney Australia. Two friends enjoying a BBQ and walking around the area. I enjoyed the Video.
Jovial vid... But actually that solves a couple of very big issues in small vans... Showering and toilet privacy. The compact nature of the tent makes it perfect... If push came to shove :) so to speak, one could set that up in a lay-by on the motorway... I daresay a bushcrafty solution would be to arrange 3 large sticks around the tent, that would support a gravity fed shower... Food for thought... Thanks 👍
This video is well timed, just after I got to the end of your other videos. I love the excitement when you finally managed to get it successfully folded and was just waiting for you to accidentally let it pop up again while trying to stuff it away.
Great vid, though you may have just admitted on camera that you read the instructions. Loved the shower tent, just beware fellow UA-camrs who own drones with that mesh top!🤭
I never thought I could be so entertained with someone putting up a pop up tent.
Or taking it back down.
You are so very funny.
You need a bumper sticker for the van that says 'my other car is a narrowboat'
Never in a million years have I ever seen a person fold up a pop up tent so easily... very impressive
Glad you’re keeping the tradition for us chaps if all else fails read the instructions 😀
"Washing ensued. No one needs to see that." ROFL I laughed soooo hard at that slide. Nice insert. Absolutely brilliant!
I could listen to this over and over.
I used to have a beach shelter that folded up like your tent. I lost the directions. It took four PhD candidates about 45 minutes to fold it up. After that, I made about fifty copies of the directions and hid them everywhere. I gave the shelter away years ago, but I still keep finding the directions. Great video
Better camera work than normal 😉😉😉😉 - well done Lorna
What a nice surprise to have a camp mate.
Loved your excitement over getting the shower folded up. Those can be quite difficult, I know!
"When all else fails, read the instructions, but only as a last resort," said every man, everywhere.
Add to the shower tent equipment list:
1: wood slat mat to stand on. (extra one for outside the door) (bamboo mats work great)
2: stiff wire (coat hanger) across the top through the netting to hold the shower head.
3: a: dry bag or other waterproof stuff bag to hold change of clothes and drying towel.
b: empty cooler that can hold dry clothes and towels and double as seat inside tent. (also holds TP and other bathroom essentials)
If you set up for more than one nights stay, just put the toilet in there to sit on.
I was very excited to re-discover my dry bag a few days ago that I thought I'd lost so I'm all sorted now for next time!
Cooler is a great idea.
The putting down the pop up tent, had me in tears of laughter. Years ago I bought one for the beach for our kids it ended up going home on the roof of the car still upright we could never pop it down😂
When we got home, we left it out for the binmen , still erected 😂😂😂
Seeing there is no type of floor in that portable shower, I would be concerned about a gust of wind lifting it while I was inside. Now that's a sight that could never be unseen!!!!!!! lol
Like a Scotsman’s kilt!
Found your Cruising The Cut channel the other day and there's something about you that I really enjoy its very strange because I have no relation to boats or anything.. you're great! 👍

Oh yes, we're good pals. There's a few videos we've done together on our narrowboat channels too :-)

UA-cam gold! Shower tent folding comedy🤣🤣
Magnets on out side could hold metal hook or loop to inside to hang shower head
I laughed so much at your joy when that tent folded! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You really didn't have 1.8k views by different people. I'm on pain meds and found this so entertaining I kept watching it over and over. Wow I could hire out as a professional watcher. Well, as long as the meds last.😍
Even without the meds I found it just as enjoyable! Wishing all excellent health
When the awkward folding worked and tent was suddenly folded...🙃👏
I do love a good outro, the summing up of the day, the teary goodbye, until we meet again.....it’s all too much, where’s my hanky!
I always enjoy your sense of humor. When you found the last maneuver to fold up the shower I was as surprised as you were.
You and me both!
It's a humble man that films himself folding up a popup shower for the first time.
Use a builders large rubble bucket, stand in it with hot water and pump submerged and have a longer shower time.
Yaaaayyy a Lorna crossover ❤ hope you cheered her up after all her boat woes
Well that was unbeliveably easy to fold up the shower tent
The triumph when you got it folded was a Tom Hanks in Castaway moment! I always take forever to get things like that folded up right.
You looked sooooooo pleased with yourself, LOVE IT, lol.
That getting the portable shower hut back into it'storage bin looked like a Monty Python comedy bit!
The more videos I watch the more I become convinced that David you are a gadget lover. Very impressed with you folding that tent.
Congrats. That was the quickest I've ever seen anyone master folding one of those up.
We had one like that. When you popped it out I was thinking "wait till he tries to fold it up". :)
I assume by now you’ve noticed, but the tent has a loop of ribbon sewn onto it. Once you have the circle, you slip the loop over it and that just holds it folded up while you put it in and out of the bag. Makes the process slightly easier.

New Vandemonium and new Slim Potatohead in the same day. I was trying to imagine how it would go if they were to switch campsites.
So nice to have a self contained shower! Definitely looks like it could use some modifications though. More storage pockets and an upper loop or rope would be a must. Great to see you motoring again. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

Love his videos
This brought back memories of great times at Billing Aquadrome. Your battle with the shower tent made me chuckle - thanks for sharing!
What an engineering genius :) You made folding up that shower look like a piece of cake!
Re the shower, for me, following the instructions are sometimes like following destructions, but as usual you mastered it. Well done!
Excellent David! Now that you have mastered the shower tent you can progress to the map folding trial. No fair using GPS anymore, paper maps only. ;^) Thank you for the fun video. Have a great week ahead.
Great to see Lorna again.
Very entertaining! I knew you could do it! 😁
Good to see you weren't outdone by a small nylon tent David 😉
i completely understand why David got so excited when the shower tent folded up.
I keep a log of all your videos that I later show my teen daughter; this is a keeper for sure 🙂
You made putting that tent away look easy and no swearing id call that a victory
Absolutely hilarious VDM! That was laughing out loud for me! Pity my dog was asleep and missed the whole thing. How nice to see the lovely Lorna as well! All in all a good night in for me.
Get yourself a "chimney starter" for lighting briquettes
I swear I almost wee’d myself watching you fold up your shower tent. You are a treasure and a hoot. I needed a laugh. South Carolina continues to be overrun with Covid. 😢
Woo-hoo. Much better than I would have done. I can never refold those pop up things or a fitted sheet for that matter. Well done David!
Very enjoyable as always, and only 5 minutes drive from where I live.
When you were screaming "Look Look Look"! at your ability to correctly fold a collapsible shower my dog was on his way to the water bowl. He stopped, turned around and watched. I'm sorry to report he was less impressed with your abilities than you were.
How someone can dislike a video by David is mind boggling to me! You’re so enthusiastically sarcastic sometimes and I love it!
So much joy at achieving the unachievable
David I do enjoy you!! Laughed out loud watching you fold up the shower!! You’re the best!!
nice to see LONDON VAN GIRL
Good for you David! I loved the elation when you got the folding inward to work! ooh! ooh!! :) super nice!

Not self-centered at all but a lovely compliment, thank you
The shower unfolding and refolding . . . big smile here.
Oh my..what a great vlog. There's a great little village up the road for amenities if your staying a while..Earls Barton. A co-op, couple of good cafe's and 3 pubs, 2 with good food and a few other nice independent outlets, butchers and pharmacy. So entertaining. Thank you.

I mist upgrade, it sound fantastic!!
You getting so excited about folding your shower tent was awesome! Folding it looked akin to playing Twister.
re the shower head, i would attach a small sticky back Velcro pad to the shower head handle and stick it to the top of the shower tent with the added help of a drop of gorilla super glue.......
Well done for folding that tent up!!!
Most enjoyable video David. You really hogtied that Shower Tent and schooled it on who's the Boss ! So relaxing to see you out and about enjoying the camp ground life, it looks so green there, lots of grass. I wish you a wonderful camping season ;)
Camping English style.....lol. You did alright on the tent foldup.
Imagine taking a shower and the wind blows the tent away. Those stakes are important!
OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh let me tell you about my shower tent I had for only one day. I had a solar shower bag, had my nice shower tent up & mine was a little bit fancier then yours. I'm so happy yours worked & didn't try to kill you in the process like mine did.
Happy trails,
Chris from Missouri
Came here from Lorna's video, love this one as well!
Since you didn’t share your showering technique (thank goodness :-), you may already do this: May I suggest flip-flops/shower shoes/thongs worn into the shower. Lol bless you David. I would have got quite stressed with those instructions. Glad you enjoyed your first camping trip of the year xx
Who'da thought that shower tent wrestling would become so popular ;-)
Your delight at completing the fold away is infectious-I guffawed loudly!
Ideas:
1. Put the shower up under a tree branch & hang what you need from the branch (you'll need to cut through the net); solved
2. Carry a piece of 6 ft. electrical conduit or some other lightweight piping like plastic pipe, drive a stake into the ground leaving a foot or so sticking up and place the conduit over the stake so it stands, rig a hook near the top and you can put that up inside the shower tent; solved
3. The tent must have some structural poles so try to make a 3 point connection using strap, rope, or hardware up near the top and hang the shower head from it...this may need some creative alteration; easiest solution
You are welcome David. lol Enjoyed watching you with Lorna again, have fun.
You have won me now David. Thanks mate 👍🇦🇺
You did great folding up the shower tent. I watched 10 videos before I found a method that worked for me.
That shower tent almost folded itself! Nice video!
I just discovered your channel and found you very entertaining! I had a good laugh over your reaction to getting the shower folded back up. Those pop-ups are always a good laugh when watching someone else give it a go! God bless you for your bravery!
Across the pond, David, most people use mini butane or propane torches to start the charcoal briquettes in the barbi or just even any kind of fire.
No, I never did get a good way to hold the shower head
Thank you for that.... entertaining as ever !!! I do enjoy your blogs. I was born and brought up and worked in Northampton, and still go to Billing regularly. That was enjoyable & interesting vlog David of time away with Lorna...stay safe....thanks for sharing
A suggestion for your shower tent floor. We used a section of 70/80% shade cloth. It would drain well but not allow muddy water to seep back up.
Cheers from California !
So hilarious. I laughed out loud seeing you fold up your shower. I so enjoy your sense of adventure, independent drive to tackle your 'projects', share your frustration, sometimes madness, 'jockularity', all great fun and interest. Your are enjoying your life and getting on with it!!! Hugs!
Thank you Lori! 😀
