The problem with any city with a large immigrant population is the newcomers slowly but surely turn their new home into what they were so desperate to leave behind. Traditions and living habits are hard to change ,so the streets and houses start resemble the back streets of many Asian towns and cities.

I'm in my 70s and the first time I visied London in my early 20s it felt like the UK. I went about 5 years ago and I don't think I heard an English voice and I could have been in a foreign country.
I am Brazilian, and i always had a dream to know the UK, seeing pictures that looks like a beautiful country, now i think that is not worth the risk, very sad seeing strong countries being destroyed with the permission of the goverment.
There's still plenty of places outside of London to go. Where I live (Cornwall) is still a lovely place to visit. But otherwise, I agree, the cities are hellholes... and the less said about Londanistan, the better.

I have lived in London as well and believe me I praise whatever god will listen every time I leave London. I like being able to get onto public transport in Stoke, without bring packed in like cattle, I like that within 10 minutes travel I can be in the countryside, without having to pay a tax to get there. I like that I can actually get the exact same products and services as I could in London but for a lot less. I can own a five bedroom house and send my kids to a nice school, where they are not going to get stabbed. For the same money as I paid for this house, I wouldn't even be able to afford a one bedroom flat in London. I am happier, healthier and wealthier for not living in London.
London is like an bloated, fat old man with clogged arteries, lung disease and riddled with parasites, resting on his laurels and reminiscing about past glories whilst ignoring the cancer that will eat him from the inside out. A cancer which then goes on to metastacise and spread its foulness to the rest of the country. London should be coned off and a barrier erected around the M25, with a sign saying "Danger, Hole in the World, Entry is not advised".

I was fortunate to grow up in a nice part of London, but have to say that it has become a dump. Too many people, dirty, extremely high cost of living. Bad transport which doesn't work properly. Such a pity.

Visited England in 2013 and when we arrived in London and stayed at supposedly a supposedly 5 star hotel ,it was a nightmare. Upon settling into our room we were bombarded with disgusting ,vile threats by a muslim on the in house phone.We were part of a tour guided group from Australia and majority of us were over 60yrs old..My sister and I had to go down to the reception and luckily our English guide was there and realised how distraught we were has us moved to better safer part of the Hotel.Thankfully we only had to stay one night there.On the streets it was as if we were in a middle eastern country. It was spot the Englishman. I have absolutely no desire to ever go back to Londanstan. I'm Australian and sadly, this is happening

I love British history, especially it's literature. For decades I wanted to visit London to see the Globe Theater and the Tower of London; those two places especially. That stopped may be a decade ago when I realized that London was going to look a lot more like Pakistan than London.
Agree! I wanted to visit the Tower but the area around was full of Indians and Pakistanis with about 20 kids each- I asked myself:"Is this the UK or Asia?" Couldn't wait to leave and didn't see the Tower after all- horrible atmosphere with all the rude imports.
He might be born there but that does not make him culturally English or British... It's exactly this reasoning that turned London into the 'wonderful, culturally diverse and enriched' place it is today. Can't wait for the day European peoples all over the continent finally wake up and smell the roses... Until then expect more of that wonderful "global" culture spreading all over Europe.

I don’t like London any more.I am scared when I have to go there.My father was a Londoner,so was my grandfather and German great grandfather.My children were born in London.I trained as an artist in London and felt happy and inspired by what was then a free thinking dynamic capital city.Now I see it as dirty, scary and alien with little pockets here and there of the happier London from the time before Sadiq Khan.

I visited London twice, once in 2013 and again in early 2023. The difference is frightening. I will never visit again.
What we need is to change the law so that every one in Great Britain can vote who the london mayor is. It is the capital of OUR COUNTRY. It's imperative that we have a true Englishman to run it not a man that is so against British and English people.
I lived there when it was the greatest mega metropolis on Earth. I witnessed 40 years of it’s ludicrous decline. The entire magnificent capital is a now nightmare and I would never want to se foot in it again, entirely due to migrants from hell. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You can feel the hatred towards you when you walk down the streets which are now invaded by despicable people attracted by the weakness and treachery of woke politicians.

The capital urgently needs a active police force that actively AND ACTUALLY records crime and arrests offenders NOT forming a committee every time something happens.

Cant blame 1 person for Londons problems. Things have become bad for decades and made worse by Labours open door migration policy. Add to that housing problems. All parties share respinsibility.

I am a Lancastrian, an English ex-pat who in former times lived in London for over two decades. I have some very fond memories of it and of neighbouring Richmond. The native Londoners who worked with me were humourous and good-natured. They knew I was from "up North" but they made me feel one of them. They were colourful, one might say Dickensian, characters. No complaints on that score.
I enjoyed it immensely but life threw me a bad turn and I left. But even before I left London I was falling out of love with it. There were the first signs of what is now being witnessed on the streets of London. It is sad and was predictable. Khan is the living embodiment of its changed character.

My dad was born in Hackney in 1933 when London was an English city.
I'm a regular visitor to London.
Went and stayed there several times in the mid to late 80's, when Thatcher was in charge, the railways and trains were old and grotty, everywhere was dirty, grimy and on it's last legs, there were still gangs and crime and you had to avoid certain places at night, BUT it was STILL a better and SAFER London than in 2023!
Sadiq Khan has single handedly ruined it!
