Remember when she did a western horsemanship pattern on a Thoroughbred in the Thoroughbred Makeover Challenge that she won a few years ago? She did great on that and scored very high when she didn't even know that she was supposed to do a Horsemanship pattern at that competition until she got there.

@@xzahramx I don't exactly know except that she loped and trotted, stopped and backed up in a particular pattern around the arena to show how the horse could be ridden in a western saddle. It was a preliminary competition added a day prior to the barrel racing rounds, I think to show the overall rideability of the Thoroughbreds in this particular event because the focus was on all the many disciplines that Thoroughbreds can be trained to do after their racing careers are over. There are at least three videos on Fallon's channel from early October 2019.

Yes, she is very inspiring to me as is the relationships she has with her horses. Its so clear that they are not just a paycheck to her, they are her extended family. Its a beautiful thing to watch and am so glad she shares her journey with us!

Yes! It’s fun to see how seriously they both took it. And good both were at explaining. I learned a lot. Some pros have the I-know-everything attitude. I don’t care who you are. Nobody knows everything!
When the horse lopes with there head and neck long and low, they look so humble.
They look uncomfortable since it is not a natural head and neck carriage.
@@donnaworrall9353 it’s definitely natural, generally if a horse is stiff or has a bodily or muscular issue they’ll be tense and stiff necked. Stiff and uncomfortable - generally higher neck carriage and tense back; soft and comfortable - lower neck carriage and supple back.
@@donnaworrall9353 it actually is! I do reining and my Reiner carries her head like that in the pasture😂 they are naturally built like that

When I first started riding lessons it was reining with Dean Brown in a small Canadian town. So cool that I started with reining and now barrel race!

This was THE BEST collaboration! It’s amazing how you see true horseman connect on two totally different disciplines! You both understood exactly what was happening with the feel of the horse, how you’re supposed to execute each maneuver, I could just go on! Great job Matt and Fallon!

I so badly want to learn how reining techniques translate into barrel racing. So cool you guys got together for this collab!
Understanding equine body mechanics helps. In order for a horse to collect and turn a barrel, they have to maneuver their body and rate speed similar to a reiner.
This was amazing too watch. Both such amazing horseman it was so fun to watch.

Saw Matt Mills on the Tv series where they did Compation in Reining and showed there home and there horses that they trained as well. Come from mostly in Texas and Arizona and I believe one from California areas to compete against each other for the Grand Prize of a million dollars I believe this was like two years ago. It was Awesome to watch such maneuvers of those majestic horses do in the arena. Love ❤️ it from Robinson Texas (down by Waco area)
