This is just about protecting your beloved Latina duran for you...Yes he was afraid off Mccallum and Emanuel promised mccallum a title fight against Duran but duran turned it down and fought week chinned Hearns instead.
+stitch piana .......yes Duran was afraid of McCallum.....Duran was probably also a little afraid of Hearns and Hagler too.....but Hagler ducked McCallum all the way too....Duran even gave up his title to fight Hearns so that he would not have to fight McCallum.....you could say it was all for the money....but really Duran was more afraid of losing to McCallum than Hearns....quite obvious if you look up the history....
Timing is everything but more importantly money is everything. Hagler never ducked anyone! Duran was a natural 130 champion and fought guys all over the place from 130 pounds to Iran Barkley at 175. Who did he ever duck? Nobody. Duran was the champ in 1971 and fought Leonard in 1982. Hearns fought Leonard twice, Duran once and Hagler once. Then he moved up in weight to fight Iran Barkley, and other tough guys. THE ONLY ONE WHO DUCKED ANYONE WAS LEONARD DUCKING AARON PRYOR. Aaron had a style SRL could not deal with just like Ali couldnt deal with Ken Norton and lost all 3 of their fights even though the judges gave him the last 2 decisions. McCallum did not get "ducked" he was more of a beginner in the early 1980s and got his prime in the late 1980s, therefore he fought great guys like James Toney, Donald Curry. Milt McCrory, and Julian Jackson. Mike was a great champion but none of the Fabulous 4 ducked him for christ sake!!!
Cryin' Mike McCallum 😂 "They(the 4Kings) ducked me... " Meanwhile watching paint dry was more exciting than any bout he was in. He wasn't great. He was good. He complained about John Mugabi getting a title shot against Marvelous Marvin but he wouldn't fight Mugabi to steal the shot at Marvelous. Overrated and falsely entitled.
Mike McCallum is the biggest cry baby. By the time he was considered a serious contender Leonard had retired, Hagler fought more interesting opponents in Hamsho (#1 contender), Hearns, Mugabi and Leonard, Thomas was all over the place fighting primarily in middleweight and light-heavy weight and Duran took a 1 1/2 year break from boxing after losing to Hearns and came back as a middleweight.
He's not unknown. One of the greatest boxers ever. He didn't get the big payday, cause Leonar, Hagler, Duran and Hearns wanted no part of the matchup.
The most avoided fighter in the history of boxing you better believe it bro?
The most ducked fighter in the 80s. Leonard, Duran, Hearns, and Hagler didn't want none of it.
they didn't duck him, they all took which ever fight paid more. get real dude. mccallum was amazing but those guys did not duck him
+stitch piana Eeeh...yes they did. They were all afraid of him.
+Husabceuoa Cieabcueoa so you're really saying that duran is afraid of mccallum but not hearns or hagler? learn about boxing.

Pure BEAST. Errol Spence models himself on this BEAST.
He's not unknown to real Boxing fans
He beat Julian the hawk Jackson twice... This guy has to be one of the best who ever did it
They always said the big 4 meaning Hagler, Leonard, Hearns and Duran fought everybody ? Well they never fought Mike McCallum.
