This one got me, I teared up at multiple points and was blessed to see, of all people, Tziki Aud! Last time we spoke, it was the fall of 2001 and I was a mess as a 23 year old "lone-oleh chadash" (oleh chadash boded?), so I walked into the Jewish Agency one fateful day and he made magic happen to get my Ulpan voucher (for some reason I could not secure it or my work visa didnt qualify, I dont remember it was just a red-tape issue) in my hands the same day. Reflecting now at this age 16 years later and expecting my first grandson in 3 weeks or so, he must have tremendous protexia and such to get done what he got done with a couple of phone calls , lol, but in the moment it was borderline miraculous in my young eyes... That same Ulpan voucher brought me to a wonderful kibbutz in the north near the Kinneret a short time later to take the classes and work in my spare time in the year 2002 The dates are kind of fuzzy lol forgive me, I was dying to join the IDF, mind you it was right in the middle of the second intifada and I had arrived August 17th, 2001 to make Aliyah, the week after the Sbarros was bombed so my blood was boiling as it was. The requirement to start basic training was to actually know Hebrew (goal figure - ha) , so they informed me to come back and sign up after I had Ulpan lessons.. ahh thats right I remember now... Anyways, both of my sons Shlomo and Shalom (twins) were lone soldiers so this tremendous cause has a special place in my heart now and always. Baruch YH that it exists and , to my yet again wonderful and amazing surprise & amazement, was co-founded by one of the coolest cats I've ever had the privilege of meeting on earth oh so many fateful years ago at - wait for it - Kibbutz friggin Sde Eliyahu !!!!! Say whaa!!!! This has got to be more than a few 'coming back full circles' .. more like a gigantic parabola or some sort of moon-sized spheres? lol (:-D HalleluYH , now & forever, baruch HaKadoshBaruChu ha'olam
