This is a charming work which merits greater exposure. Like Greenleaf's comment below, after Schoenberg & his school became dominant at the beginning of the 20th century, some very significant composers faded, sadly. Another wonderful composer who is being heard a bit more these days is Franz Schmidt. Although these people don't fall into the very front rank of composers of the period, they were highly competent & wrote some beautiful music. Bravo to this ensemble.
Like Heinrich von Herzogenberg and Alexander von Zemlinsky, Carl Frühling's chamber opus is too attractive and nicely crafted not to eventually attract interest on the part of performers and - may we hope - labels. His long association with Sarasate, the pathbreaking Rosé-Quartet, and Egon Wellesz speaks of the collegial esteem accorded him until the sea change of angular modernity made his style, and theirs, a relict. Sadly, Frühling lived on to die in misery in his adopted home, Vienna.
Vous avez raison mr Catalonotti, je le trouve tres beau aussi, j'adore le clarinet, je viens de commencer a prendre des lecons de clarinet. C'est un tres beau instrument, pres de la voix humain. Amities Jan-Pieter (Pays-Bas)

I think this is the most animated clarinetist I've ever seen. It's as if she is dancing with her instrument.
Magnifique :-) une très belle œuvre ...

Bravissimi!
Amazing!!!!
herrlich!
Moderno e com dramaticidade romântica, Carl Frühling (28 November 1868 - 25 November 1937) compositor Austríaco.
amazing
That andante needs to be orchestrated ou, could pass for any of the major waltz composers if that were done right
Wat een mooi werk, kende de componist niet. Heel mooi de klarinet.
This is his Op. 40.
Is that a Rossi rosewood clarinet? I can't see if there's a split between upper and lower joints... if it's one piece then it's most likely a Rossi!
It's a Schwenk & Seggelke boxwood clarinet (french system)
Martin Koehler Good to know, thanks! It's obviosly not a Buffet. Nice to see some different instruments being used.
gibt es dazu auch irgendwo die noten
