I could not stand this show back in the day, but my mind has changed a bit. The world we live in now is so insane that taking these trips back to my Grandma's world is strangely comforting.
My oh my, where has the time gone? How I remember as an 8 year old boy gathering around the TV on Saturday night with my parents to watch the Lawrence Welk show. Now, the folks are gone, I've been married for 50 years. I still enjoy just as much watching on U-tube, the Lawrence Welk Show!!❤❤❤
À CHAQUE SAMEDI SOIR, À LA TÉLÉ CTV-12 MONTREAL, JE REGARDAIS AVEC MON PÈRE, CETTE ÉMISSION ET CE FUT,UN INTÉRÊT ET UN PLAISIR PARTAGÉ S.MÉRCI PAPA.THANKS MR.LAWRENCE WELK.R.I.P.
Those were the days of really great music, far beyond what the nonsense is that is aired today and attempts to be called "music". The harmonies and smooth sounds of the blended instruments just cannot be duplicated today. I am so proud that I grew up in a time when television was clean and the music was at it's best.
Uh… no it wasn’t. This was the era of Reagan’s trickle down economics, the advent of HIV/AIDS, and the very real threat of nuclear war between the US and Russia, a severe recession, the Falklands War… not exactly simple times at all.
@pen64 It’s simple compared to today. We still have AIDS and a terrible economy. The gap between rich and poor has metastasised. LA and San Francisco have tent cities full of homeless people. The drug epidemic has grown exponentially. The borders mean nothing and the country is being overrun with illegal migrants who get put up in luxury hotels by taxpayers who can ill afford it.. Shoplifting is so extreme in some cities that shops have been forced to close, while the thieves walk free. The threat of war seems closer than ever, and now we’re facing both nuclear and biological weapons. Porn has proliferated to the point that even children are exposed to it. Children are being indoctrinated with all kinds of sickness and the government is trying to take away parents’ rights to protect them. Children are going on murder sprees, shooting up their schools. . Women in sports are forced to compete with men dressed as women. Of course these men are crushing women’s world records and making a joke women’s achievements. Men have even gotten into women’s prisons by claiming to be women. No prize for guessing what these men do to the women forced to be locked up with them. People are fed misinformation and propaganda directly via their phone, courtesy of hostile foreign powers. This has sped along the fracture and degeneration of society. Things are so broken that the captial was attacked by its own citizens. The time this video is from wasn’t perfect, but it was a far simpler, and far better time than the one we live in today.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Fabulous entertainment we were spoiled back then🌟 nowadays we never get shows as wonderful we get terrible Talent shows🗑 made on the cheap with very little talent and so called judges of talent who are a poor show These shows are still EXCELLENT 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I enjoy the show very much, and if the main digital signal 🚥🚦 of a PBS Station can't broadcast the show any more, than it should be broadcast on one of the side channels of the local PBS Station, such as HD 2, 3, 4, or HD 5, of a PBS Station, like in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on WQED HD 2, HD 3, HD 4, and or WQED HD 5!
WELL, GAIL,RON AND MICHAEL DID IT FOR ME THIS TIME. THEIR IMPROVISATION OF GLEN MILLERS, "IN THE MOOD "WAS BRILLIANT. I CANT REMEMBER HAVING HEARD ANOTHER RENDITION AS GOOD AS THEIR PERFORMANCE .REALLY GOT MY FEET TAPPING AGAIN ..GREAT STUFF........ A GREAT ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE USE OF THEIR IMAGINATION.
Thanks for great music 🎶! Enjoy: Seems like Old Times Twilight Time, Dream at Chris Phally channel on UA-cam & 80 more. The L.Welk show was so inspiring, "keep a song in your ❤️ heart...
Haven't listened to Lawrence Well for many years. It sounds different. The musicians are less technical, more rushed, out of breath, more prepared, less relaxed. I guess back then, my options were fewer. Less competition. The show wouldn't fly today. Meredith Wilson was a nice introduction and a pleasant surprise.
Always loved the tiny bubbles! Please pardon our Oxygen buy back folks. 1, 2,& 3 And now just music misic music of being protected from having ever to use NNuclear Warfare to battle Cruelty and Fascism. #newufo #artssummitTX
I sent my VHS copy of Sinatra to Lawrence Welk LP. He uploaded it on his channel. It is the commercial release, so doesn’t include the Bob Allen interview.
The music was so much better back then, and people wonder why everyone feels depressed these days.. the musics horrible and talentless not to mention just straight up depressing
WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY RONA DIVORCED HER HANDSOME AAND L9VABLE HUSBAND. THEY SEEMED YTO BE THE ALOMOST PERFECT COUPLE. AND MAKE SUCH MAGICAL MUSIC TOGETHER. ?????
When I learned of their divorce, I recalled a line from a song they sang " When we go our separate ways.." I feel certain, at that time, they never dreamed one day they would indeed go their separate ways. So sad! 😮
Lol same. I used to loathe it. But somehow now after so many of my family has died and all I have left are these musical memories, it isn't as annoying
Let’s see…a black drummer a black dancer a Latina singer a Hispanic clarinet player…looks pretty good to me. Consider the type of music. Not exactly hip hop. Most of the musicians stayed with the band. Some for more than 30 years
Even if they were all white (which they clearly aren’t), so what? You wouldn’t complain about an all-Black show, would you? Or an all Hispanic show? It’s only white people who you’d force out so others could take their place. That sounds extremely racist of you. White people have as much right to do their own thing as anyone else. Stop it with the hypocritical, racist, anti-white double standards.
I could not stand this show back in the day, but my mind has changed a bit. The world we live in now is so insane that taking these trips back to my Grandma's world is strangely comforting.
Me too
Yes, my mom and dad's world. Salt of the earth people. Hard to find them. They loved LW and remember watching with them.
I agree 100 percent. What you say is true for me. I am now 77 and the world is different.
Same child hood! Our granddaughter loves it and wanted watch it all the time. She’s 23 now and changed.
I love this show, watch it with my mom until this day. I cry for her.
I remembrer those wanderful days.
That precious music:
And delicious moments.
We sure did enjoy Mr. Welks music deeply.
Esspecially cannibals!
It's fun to see and listen to these old favorites. Thank you for sharing them.
Gonna CENSOR this?

Anacani was my father's favorite singer. Our family would watch the Lawrence Welk show every weekend. I'm glad UA-cam has video memories of the show.

When Lawrence walk came on Saturday evening you just knew everything would be ok. Times have changed
Lots of memories. This Show brought tones of joy to many people. My parents never missed it. And the musicians were very talented!
Yes my mind changed as I watch this. It was wonderful.

Im so glad my grandma brought up my ancestory. I found out im related to Lawrence. This is the BEST discovery iv made in my entire life. SO PEACEFUL
For real or you just joking?
@@annaberthamezaherrera4768 Its truee! I was shocked bc i didnt think anyone in my family(even in past) was ever successful
My great great grandpa and his first wife, were neighbors of the Welks! Albeit when my great grandma was born he was in his early 20s
Luck you, I'm happy for you 😊
It is completely fascinating that this show/music genre existed at the same time as MTV, etc. Its like there was a huge overlap in cultural trends.
Not much overlap. I think MTV started right as The Lawrence Welk show was finishing its long run.

Some 0f the kids of today need to listen to this music ?😊
People were neat and clean back then but not no more! 😔
Back when life was simple!❤️🥰

From the first show we were always entertained my Sainted Mother listening in Heaven waited to hear Anacani singing a Spanish song!
Such wholesome entertainment. That world is long gone, sadly.
Anacani really rocked!!!! Lawrence's brass section was wonderful as always.
Anacani was a real doll.
Loved watching this show with my grandparents and my daughter.

It's hard to beat LW show. All the gals & guys are great & beautiful.
When I was in kindergarten, we watched this show, then the King Family, on Saturday night
Thanks for great music 🎶! Enjoy: Seems like Old Times Twilight Time, Dream at Chris Phally channel on UA-cam & 80 more. The L.Welk show was so inspiring, "keep a song in your ❤️ heart...
Guy and Ralna completely ate that song for dinner.
Very lovely 😍
Fabulous!
"In the Mood" - love that song! That'll get you dancin'.
Brings back a lot great memories, 😊
The musicians, singers and dancers were unbelievably good. Miss seeing the PBS Saturday night broadcast of his weekly TV shows.
Mary Lou Meztger is beautiful!
All these beautiful people...those were the days....the world we live in now is garbage.
This is my favorite song by Elvis. Guy and Ralna sings this really good.
Ralna English and Guy Hovis brought their trademark vocal blend to a phenomenal rendition of an Elvis Presley classic.
my family came from Germany we are the most beautiful blue eyes darling 100000000000000 million stars
Im impressed thank you so much!? Alot accomplishment here and talent drummer, pianist! Wow great dancers tap too.
I wish LW would mention the stand up bass with the Dixieland group. He is amazing

Anacani was terrific! She sings superbly, and she's a fine dancer too.

Myrons incredible, a genius of the accordian
Love that You’ll Never Walk Alone and do u have salute to Sinatra from 1978 with bob allen interview
I sent my VHS copy of Sinatra to Lawrence Welk LP. He uploaded it on his channel. It is the commercial release, so doesn’t include the Bob Allen interview.
Welk was on television in 1932?? Don't think it was invented yet, and if so, doubt their was any commercial use of it...
My hart🥰
Sounds like music you would hear either in an elevator or cafeteria way back in the day. Very good for digestion LOL
i gew up with this show , TURN FROM YOUR SINS EXCEPT YE REPENT YE SHALL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH LUKE 13-3
The music was so much better back then, and people wonder why everyone feels depressed these days.. the musics horrible and talentless not to mention just straight up depressing
Make lovely very music.
Great clarinet licorice shtick pkaying , in fact the whole band guitar smooth.
Pro life tip… Watch any episode of the Lawrence Welk show high…
My uncle's and father could play the accordion.
Only good music left
Interesting story
Clay Hart was my favorite.

A couple who prays together stays together 🙏

Course his family too.
F U and D D 2023
had to watch this as a kid.....kind of slow torture
Lol same. I used to loathe it. But somehow now after so many of my family has died and all I have left are these musical memories, it isn't as annoying
At 7:15 why does Anacani sing about liking to hear "Violence?" She is so talented and beautiful but why is she singing about her love of violence?
Violins, not violence! 😂
@@8jaime8 Violence, Violins who cares, she's gorgeous!
Anacani would NEVER sing a song about violence!
Meredith Willson wrote THE MUSIC MAN, a masterwork of musical theatre.
Nope it’s a sin to be released ! According to God Himself!
Let's go back to simplecity 3:02
ESSE PROGRAMA VIROU PATOTA ANTI-RUBRO NEGRA. BOTAFOGO É CAVALO PARAGUAIO. SAUDADES DO GILSON RICARDO. ESTOU FORA >
Are you okay? 😂
I like this episode except for the despicable and deplorable song "Please Release Me." I abhor that song!!!! I find it appalling! 😠👎
I used to watch this with my great grandma but watching it now is crazy how racist it is-nearly every one is white
Yeah, even Anacani was whitewashed. Lawrence Welk catered to a certain generation, though. Their prime was before the Civil Rights Movement.
Let’s see…a black drummer a black dancer a Latina singer a Hispanic clarinet player…looks pretty good to me. Consider the type of music. Not exactly hip hop. Most of the musicians stayed with the band. Some for more than 30 years

Good Lord.

Sad, knowing there were only two more after this...
