What a massive effort by everyone. Lizzy definitely was a trooper and a calming influence during an unbelievable stressful time. And what a testimonial for Arrowquip; that crush earned its keep. The Merriest of Christmas’s to all The Pemberton Family and Staff. Enjoy the beauty and joy of this season and take a well deserved rest.
Thank you Oak Hill Vets for willing to be on camera and thank you for all the help and support you all give to Pemberton Farms. Merry Christmas to all.
The vets are often just as emotionally invested in the health problems of the livestock under their care as the farmers are. Good vets are worth their weight in gold.
How you kept all that under wraps and carried on as if everything was normal to us on UA-cam, I have no idea! What a strain, nightmare....but at least you are now out of the tunnel. Have a great Christmas everyone!
My guess is….very conscious editing! I still wonder how the Pembertons manage to do all the things for the farm, and manage filming, editing, and posting stuff for us! Happy Christmas to the whole crew, and so relieved for your farm to now be TB clear!!!
This video makes me so happy. Tom you and the Ginger warrior work so hard. You put your whole lives online for us to see, the good the bad and the ugly. We are all fed by farmers. Really happy for you all. And the amazing who work for you. Merry Christmas
Congrats!!!! About 10+ years ago in NH where I live there was a sheep flock with Scrapie(mad cow disease). The whole flock had to be destroyed......it was devastating to that farm. It isn't as much of a problem in New England....but still scary. You are lucky to have such an awesome team and support!
Just think how cathartic it is going to be when you get to the spring time, No gigantic construction project, weather clears up a bit, fields get just right and you get to throw open the gates and watch as the healthy happy cows flood into the fields for the first time of the year.
So great to hear you were TB free this time. Everything crossed hoping it will stay that way. The arrowquip crush seems to be very moveable. Twin highlands. That will be a sight to see.
That's a 6 month period you wont want back again; ever. Well done for the perseverance. Put your feet up and enjoy Christmas with the family. This year littlun will be too small to know anything about it but from here on, it all changes
What a year Tom. Excellent result, so glad your stress level is back to normal. Lizzy is amazing and mustn't forget Katie and the rest of the crew. Merry Christmas to you all. 🎅🎅🎅🔔🔔🔔
I think I missed the birth announcement, Tom. Congratulations on the clean bill of health. Merry Christmas to the Pemberton Family and all the farm hands and Lizzy. from NC, USA
Hi Tom and Ginger, wow what a year you have had. The renovating of the old buildings and the massive new projects which includes the milking parlour, and the birth of James ( the next generation of a Pemberton farmer ). I look forward to you videos every week and I am always surprised by the varity of the content. Hopefully 2024 brings an easier year and you can enjoy all your recent hard work. Thanks for an interesting insight in to your farming life in the UK. I wish you, your family and Ginger a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Chris from Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺.
I love watching some of the cows hang back waiting for there friend at the crush. I heard that cows bond with a fellow cow. They become very bonded, I'd like to think this true.
Hi Tom really glad you have done the 3 part on TB and showing the stress and heart breaking news of having a TB reactor I worked on a farm that had to do tb testing every 60 days for nearly 2years and lost so many animals but never had one animal with TB lesions so soul destroying! So glad you are now TB free
When I was a child, TB in folks was still an issue. We had a big TB Sanitarium/Hospital and to get to the VA Hospital for my grandfather we had to drive first by the TB Hospital ...and, every time Grandma would be "QUICK ROLL UP THE WINDOWS!". I still chuckle bout that. Now that place is just government offices, and mostly empty .
Glad it's all worked out for you, TB is a complete nightmare. We was down for about 6 months. 7 reactors with is the first time in 100 years of the farm. It's all over now. Good on you
Cheers to you, Tom - glad that all came out well for you in this re-check. Merry christmas to you all, and congratulations to all on the good news. Onward to better days.
For those overhang wooden boards always breaking. Have you thought of using the plastic slats? The ones they use on refrigerated rooms to keep the cold in. That's if you need something to keep the air quality you had those tests for. They would also help to keep rain out.
Very happy you're TB free. Now, it's time for you and Jo to enjoy your first Christmas as parents! Wishing you and all your family and all your wonderful people who work beside you every day a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for sharing your days with all of us. ⛪🎄🙏💗🐄
Tom, certainly a relief for you. Yes, future TB monitoring, but a small price to pay versus having the whole herd put down. Thank you, enjoy the holiday season and along with Jo, parenting the new bundle of joy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
congratulations lizzie !!!!!---- good video tom its all over now tom youre in the clear !!!!!!!! merry xmas & a happy new year to all atpemberton farms xxxxx
I have noticed this year we didn’t always get the Tom Pemberton that I expect. Between this, a new dairy & a baby on the way…..no wonder. Keep going Tom Top stuff the good the bad & the ugly is a lot to do hats off to you
Fair play getting the all clear ive been in your shoes with tb 9 years ago. The most stressful winter we ever had as we had to carry and rear all the calfs +we couldn't sell 30 incalf heifers that we sell every year to generate money when the cows were dried off. We had to pay top price for poor bale silage as we didn't have enough and lost 15 incalf cows to tb. But we found the problem came from badgers so d department helped remove them. Every November is very stressful when leading up to tb testing day as i always remember that winter and d financial crisis we were in. Thanks for your honesty and keeping a smile on your face all d way threw it must had been hard on you and d family the unknown and d months of waiting to be told your herd is tb clear. All d best from Tipperary in Ireland. I love d video's and always stop working when d notification come threw it brightens my day.
Congratulations guys on being TB. Free . At least you you can all enjoy Christmas now . Hope everyone in the team have a great Christmas even though you still require to milk on Christmas Day also ! 👍
What a year. Farming as in life is a roller coaster. Remember quite a few of those testing days. Many moons ago. Thank you (for opening your ‘farm gate’)and best wishes for the Xmas & new year.
Congratulations on being TB free Tom, must be such a relief. You can now have a very happy Christmas and look forward to a great new year with your newly extended family and friends. 😊
Baby first Christmas awh 💓 💖 ❤️ 😍 💕 best wishes to you and your beautiful wife ❤️ ♥️ 😊Merry Christmas to everyone who sees this also may 2024 be our year 💖
Hi Tom. It's been a long and soon it will be Christmas. Please get some rest and time to sit, relax and enjoy your time with family and friends on Christmas day. I hope and pray that the year coming it will be a better year. Happy cows Happy Farmer Happy family. Merry Christmas and happy new year.
First off congratulations on the end result! Thank you for showing the process. I have never heard of a case anywhere near me, I just know its something you don't want to go through.
having been a machinist most of my life, I have never seen a Vernier caliper used as a vets tool. Now being a rancher it's eye opening. I know your stress........... happy cows happy life
All ends well :) I'm glad for you people. Also nice to see people work together that well. Congrats btw with the mini Pemberton to you all. have a nice Christmas and a cosy New Year!
So much research out there so sad that we are using the same test method that was used a LONG time ago. So much about farming is rough and dirty but TB has been a thing for a long while. If I remember correctly the test in humans is just as vague. People don't get that the cows are more then car or tractor or something else you have purchased from a store. They aren't just a number on a spreadsheet. You make them from the ground up and chose to keep them for their life. To lose them for a negative test is super sad. Glad you are so good at what you guys do. Keep up the great work!
Sistersinwellies say their cows get very stressed when they get TB checked. It's like they know what is going on and they are afraid. Lizzy and Katie have been wonderful and calming. You must let us know when she has her "human calf"
Another brilliant video Tom, i am so pleased your TB free. all the people on the videos are so kind and happy, and that's because your are infectious, with your life's outlook.
Congratulations on being TB free! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 What a year you have had! Have a wonderful Christmas and a healthy happy 2024! You and Joanna enjoy every minute with wee Harvey and your family ❤️🎁🎄🎅👍👍
Good to see your tb free. We are in same situation. One cow down on first round of tests. All clear on second and hopefully third and final test goes well. I do find it strange that. Lot of single cows are failing pinch tests. Never seen the likes of it before. And they all come clear tests when killed?
We had a 630 on demo. It was too small for us so ended up getting a new 635 I love the electric window it means if it’s pissin down you can have it open a little bit it’s our 4th manitou our first one was like your one. Grand little machine. TB testing is a very stressful time we’re due a one in march. Good luck and thanks for sharing your experience. 👍
What an adventure. Katie sure got her monies worth. Good job everybody. 👍👍 Years from now, you can sit around talking about “the time we had a reactor”. But my goodness, what a stressful time. So glad you’ve gotten the all clear.
Great news about the TB testing. Hope you and the family and everyone on the farm. Have a happy Christmas and New Year. Cheers. Keep the videos coming in 24.
Lizzy's kindness really seems like it made this challenging period a bit brighter.
You've had more than ya fair share of ups & downs this last 12 months Tom. Enjoy your first Christmas as a daddy. Merry Christmas to the Pembertons 🎅
They had the baby?

I cannot imagine how relieved your entire family is. Thank God!
Thank you Oak Hill Vets for willing to be on camera and thank you for all the help and support you all give to Pemberton Farms.

Still think, when you are ready for a new forklift, a Tm 320 or equivalent articulated machine would be ideally suited to your premises. 👍
Have a happy merry Christmas and new years to you and your family and friends Tom
Hope you all have a good Christmas and a happy new year
Thank you Lizzy... Thank you Katie...
