- In this video, Acharya Shree Yogeesh, a living enlightened master, debunks the 7 Myths of Meditation that have been holding you back from experiencing true meditation. Find out how to let go of your mind, body, and breath to reach a blissful meditative state and understand the real concept of meditation.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh reveals the truth behind these myths and teaches you how to reach a blissful meditative state. In this video, you will learn why controlling the mind is a misconception and how to bypass it, why posture is not important in meditation and how to let go of your body, why personalizing meditation won't lead you to true meditation, why you still need to eat and drink water while meditating, why meditation alone won't lead to enlightenment, and why staring at one point won't lead you to a meditative state.
Acharya Shree Yogeesh, a living enlightened master, gives a spiritual discourse on the 7 Myths of Meditation. With his wisdom and insight, he breaks down the following myths (misconceptions):
- Myth: Meditation is to learn how to control the mind
- Myth: To Meditate, you need to be in certain meditation postures
- Myth: Vipassana Meditation
- Myth: Human body can survive on Meditation Energy alone
- Myth: Enlightenment through meditation only
- Myth: Bodhidarma's staring at the wall is meditation
- Myth: Meditation is a religious practice

Thank you for the wonderful definition for meditation! It's so much easier to do meditation without restrictions.
I believe he means to say, that children know what they like and they bypass channels (such as an adult should be able to bypass thoughts) that displease them and change them to something they do like.
Great Revelation, thank you for sharing this awareness.
Thank you! I love all your videos! The information you give is a great treasure!
Very, Very Good Video!! OM Namo Siddhanam!!

sent the master good loving prana from time to time.
thank you achary yagesh ji
Very Very helpful video !
i have watched many of his videos and he very rarely blinks. its incredible. that has to say something to his credit. he has probably meditated so much that he doesnt blink or something, i dont know.
I love listening to ur voice! The clear practical manner u hold makes it all full of sense! Always felt I was doing things my own way and u make me want to really listen to myself more! I understand! Thank u ;-))))))
thanx
If meditation is a non-doing state, then does it mean it is the same as Nirvikalpa Samadhi? What are the 8 types of Samadhi?Hope Archaya shree Yogeesh can expound on this in his future video.
hi acharya..i wanted to thank you for your guidence and wisdom...also i wanted to know what you think of a spiritual practice i came up for me ...i stare in the mirror at one of my eyes it helps me to disconnect from my ego a bit...i have also been using your heavy breathing technics and they help me feel free for a few seconds...and i wish i could meditate more often cos i seem to have success with it which i didnt expect ...i know now i want to be enlightned like you))
Namaste :-)
yesss...its true sometimes breath just go away.......and my brain becomes heavy....and i go to sleep.....hahaha
I am confused in regards to the children metaphor, what does he mean by bypassing the channels?
I have one question..when I do meditation every morning I feel good during meditation for 15-30 min. or few hours but rest of the day I didn't feel that good...sometimes feel helpless or want to do nothing...why is it so??? My lifestyle is not that busy and I have enough time for doing things..please advice
im sorry but the word that i was taught as a buddhist to watch the breath was samadhi and vipassana was called insight. so im alittle confused here. and if watching the breath is not meditation then what is, because the buddha has recommended this anapana sati which means mindfullness of the breath isnt this meditation?
so how does one become enlightened?....uf not through meditation...i didnt understand what that last step was before becoming enlightned.....i once fainted after unseccusfeull meditation..cos my back was asleep or something...and it felt like a no mind state or out of body experince was it ano mind state cos i was aware of it 100 % my eyes even were open and evrything was clear and there was no sound or thoughts
@fiscornioman OMG you are right!
hello
@fiscornioman he's meditating...
@NickOnassis you dont hold your breath in meditation
BODHI DHARMA WAS A HINDU BRAHMAN PRIEST FROM SOUTH BHARAT WHO TAUGHT KARATE..
You may not reach complete mediation, no.
There is a glaring problem with what this person says about meditation being effortless.
If meditation was reached by not making effort to control the mind, then all the worldly people that ignore controlling the mind and let their thoughts run rampant without slightest care for making any effort of controlling the mind or attaining enlightenment would be in deep meditative states.
If effort should not be made, then we should not even sit down for the purpose of meditation, because that is making effort. Or maybe I am completely misunderstanding him. But the way I see it, it makes no sense.
He is asking you to not hold on to thoughts and neither to stop them. Just let them flow by like a river or like wind and soon you ll be thoughtless.
totally agree...
I DON'T SEE ANYBODY APPRECIATING HINDUISM for giving you such a knowledge.
You eat the fruits from this tree and don't water it?
Surrender to yourself.
