The Lord My Chosen Portion.
We are to be absolutely confident that because of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, we too will live eternally. If we’re taught the lie that Christ’s resurrection was in spirit only, then it’s no different from other religious leaders who claimed to be ‘god’ but are still in the grave. Resurrection power makes the gospel message powerful. Because Jesus defeated death, hell, and the grave, so can we! Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.

We are to be absolutely confident that because of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, we too will live eternally. If we’re taught that Christ’s resurrection was in spirit only then the message of the Gospel has no power and holds no impact. We must believe that Jesus not only paid for our sins, but that He also rose bodily from the grave on the third day. His resurrection was not a spiritual thing, it was a physical thing. And, because of this believers will also be raised from the dead and live eternally.
“After eight days His disciples were indoors again, and Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and observe My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Don’t be an unbeliever, but a believer.” (John 20:26-27 HCSB)
If Jesus did not bodily rise from the dead Thomas would not have been able to touch Him. Without His resurrection there is no Gospel, no salvation, and no eternity with God. Jesus had to defeat death so we could live eternally with Him and God.

16 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

Out of curiosity, what Bible translation is used for these videos?
We use the HCSB but as we redid the videos we transitioned (starting in Mark) to the updated version called the CSB
