Game Over is/was "imo" an Arcade Cabinet tradition which was carried over to console gaming as a way to preserve the "Arcade Experience" by bringing it also to the home! I myself loved the idea, since I'm a big arcade fan! I remember in 1986 pumping quarters in an arcade place in NY city. Those were the days... until the early 90s when Street Fighter showed up... were the golden age of Arcade gaming! Not forgetting the great SNK franchises like King of Fighters and that contra like shooter which I forget the name now. But I was really a sidescroller platformer fan.
When you recorded the SMB Game Over, you earlier did a glitch where you stay Super Mario after colliding with Bowser, which when you obtain a Mushroom will shrink you down to normal size, and picking up a Fire Flower will turn you into Fire Mario (but still normal size).
I don't know if you know this, but when the portals came up, one of them was red, indicating that you couldn't enter. Since UA-cam converts videos to 30 fps, you can't see the red beam. It should be visible in the uncut version. The link is in the description.
The game at 3:34 - Ghosts 'n' Goblins - I used to freakin' LOVE that game!! It scared me, but it didn't give me nightmares or anything. I doubt I could even play it at night now without getting creeped out. But it was fun, even though I couldn't even beat the first few levels... I'm not so good at video games.
@Minan3 It happens when you run out of E's shown at the top & die. Then you have to start the whole area all over again instead of the section you were at. That's why I love that one - epic failure. The music sounds good too.
@Metalzoner You're welcome, & the game at 6:18 is Star Voyager (sorry, didn't see the comment below). I can't believe I actually beat that game; will never forget that day; I had pizza for dinner that night.
What a painful loss on Bases Loaded! To rally in the bottom of the 9th with nine runs, hit a fly ball to left with the tying run crossing the plate and the ball carrying where a homer wins it, falls a bit short.
Thank you so much for the answer (and I will look up all those games:). Mappy I already knew, I meant the one after Mappy (the game with the ninja)? Oh and dont believe I commented on this before but awesome video. Many memories from dying in these games as a kid.
ha los recuerdos, camo era realmente dificiles, era l que mas veias, y casi todoas son iguales, G E N I A L THANKS, FOR THE VIDEO, IT'S GREAT TO PLAY THE NES
What do you mean? That Tennis clip is very real - I couldn't beat that freakin' guy on that difficulty. Also many of these are based on things that happened - like in Gradius, I actually made it to the end once & crashed.
1:43 great donkey kong tune! 1:59 excitebike tune! ranking #43..... i like that game.... 2:25 good balloon fight tune..... 2:24 great tune! 3:24 excellent tune! 4:18 very excellent tune! great video....
Well, You haven't played City Connection,Battletoads, Bump'n Jump(Buggy Popper) and Dragon Buster, Little Nemo: Dream Master, Renegede, Freedom Force, Gun Smoke, Dragon's Lair?
@Knux95 Nope, Starfox made it's first appearance on the SNES. I think the one at 00:18 is either space invaders or caterpillar. Hard to tell since there are quite a few shooter games in that style.
0:39 You won and lost at the same time! Lol!
A soul for a soul

Well, _most_ of them.
NES developers: "GEE, SUPER SCARY BLACK SCREEN WITH 'GAME OVER' ON IT WILL TOTALLY NOT TRAUMATIZE THE KIDS OR ANYTHING"

The source of Duck hunt's final smash music and down-B
This video is 10 years old and I still enjoy this!
2 things:
1. Same
2. Epic profile picture
⑤ゲームをする 遊んでTBSでNES all Charactersがいっぱい!
It sounds like the game over theme from Ice Climber is laughing at you for dying
LMAO, Duck Hunt, 0:58, you fail so bad a dog is laughing at you!
Which reminds me, never stand up if ever you are on a moving raft in a low-ceiling cavern.
Wild Gunman had the most unexpected turn in death/game over music
You cannot go wrong with the pre-1987 NES games (Excitebike, Pinball, Tennis, Duck Hunt, etc...)
The Gumshoe Death always make me laugh. One of the funniest NES deaths ever.
I just noticed the Baseball and Tennis games have the same Game Over/You Win jingle
These Game Overs are also known as Etrigan's favorite video game moments.

I think no less than a million memories came back to me in a ten minutes video, thanks man
Wow! More! And add some obscure Famicom titles too! :)

4:30- when they trip, it looks like footage of me doing any sport. I miss the awesome music and the sheer difficulty of those old games.
Good work I found it fairly nihilistic playing games to die, but you get into the swing of it
I saw this when I was 6 years old. This actually got me into Nintendo. lol (what I meant by that is that I became a loyal fan)

Has anyone ever realized they use the EXACT SAME FONT FOR EVERY GAME OVER SCREEN?!
It's the 80s gaming era. Of course they do. ;)
you have good tastes for classic games
@Metalzoner
You're welcome, & the game at 6:18 is Star Voyager (sorry, didn't see the comment below).
I can't believe I actually beat that game; will never forget that day; I had pizza for dinner that night.
That is Super Macho Man. And no one is the winner here.
giant LOL ant 2:16 ! xD nice video man keep it up!
Thanks for this arrangement. This abridged version is nothing short of hilarious! I laughed until I cried!
Every "Game Over" music for all NES including a few that I have from the end of every "MTN Shorts" episode with me, Shirley Temple and Bojangles.
Thank you for reminding me. I was supposed to do that about a month ago.
Honestly, they use the classic font for almost every game
1:01
Yes, you can laugh all you want. That was your dinner!
@Minan3
I think you're talking about Section Z, a Capcom game that claims you as Captain Commando in the manual.
@Luirio In this case, the clock ran out. You also can jump off a cliff or into lava... take your pick.
Wild Gunman, thanks. Right after the shot, but before "game over" i thought sounded pretty cool =3
What a painful loss on Bases Loaded! To rally in the bottom of the 9th with nine runs, hit a fly ball to left with the tying run crossing the plate and the ball carrying where a homer wins it, falls a bit short.
01:02 is the quickest death ever! LMAO!
1:28 "The end" whoa...
Played all these games, but never beat any of them! 🤣
I did forget all about the part 2's in case you haven't noticed. Thanx. :)
lol some of these games not only piss you off because you died but the game over music and scene really pisses you off equally or greater as well!! 8)

Big Boss: Snake, status report! Respond! Snake?? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!
@NeoAdonis666
I'm glad you noticed that - I was able to JUST miss it by mere milliseconds.
aw, you were at the last boss in Faxanadu!
7:19 Sounds Like Molang's Game Over Music In Molang A Happy Day
8:15 - "Snake?! SNAAAAKE!!!!!" :)
Thank you so much for the answer (and I will look up all those games:).
Mappy I already knew, I meant the one after Mappy (the game with the ninja)?
Oh and dont believe I commented on this before but awesome video. Many memories from dying in these games as a kid.

THANKS, FOR THE VIDEO, IT'S GREAT TO PLAY THE NES
@MrDanyo96
I've never seen that before. Is it better than the "lying down while jumping on an enemy's back" death?
I watched this when I was a kid.
What do you mean? That Tennis clip is very real - I couldn't beat that freakin' guy on that difficulty.
Also many of these are based on things that happened - like in Gradius, I actually made it to the end once & crashed.
Thank you James C for fixing the video
Yeah, that would really be appreciated if you'd list all the titles shown on this video in order so we can know what the names of all these games are.
I recall 12 of these games. Cool.
Wonderful job! What's the name of the 1,53' game???
1:43 great donkey kong tune!
1:59 excitebike tune! ranking #43..... i like that game....
2:25 good balloon fight tune.....
2:24 great tune!
3:24 excellent tune!
4:18 very excellent tune!
great video....
Yes, and there was also a version on the Game Boy;wich I think it`s the best racing game ever.
The Nes version is also fantstic.
On parts 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 respectively
11 people got GAME OVER
Few of these bring back memories of smashing my controllers.
Well, You haven't played City Connection,Battletoads, Bump'n Jump(Buggy Popper) and Dragon Buster, Little Nemo: Dream Master, Renegede, Freedom Force, Gun Smoke, Dragon's Lair?
have an idea, how about a nes winning "stage clear" compilation!
@Knux95 Nope, Starfox made it's first appearance on the SNES. I think the one at 00:18 is either space invaders or caterpillar. Hard to tell since there are quite a few shooter games in that style.
ballon fight is awesome
Oh, I see. This is the first time I've ever heard of that glitch before, though.
Oh, Really? Why you made Uncut Version? I have been used for FCEUX, PC Emulator(PC Engine, MAME: Arcade Vision), and PSP Pad, I used Savestates :D
3:15 - Another 1000 epileptic kids hospitalized by Nintendo!
Robin hood prince of thieves has the best game over screen.
8:26 "Ouch!" LOL
You mean Tiger Heli? The one you can't see anything because it's constantly flickering & because the video is at 30fps?
What is the music at the very beginning of the video? Been looking for it for a while!
Star Voyager - a very interesting & early flight game that I spent a great deal on... it had no replay value :/
i never saw game over screens once i got my hand on game genie...
There are no sequels on this video
But 6:05 game was sky kid that Vs. Arcade Game (Vs. Super Sky Kid) and classic arcade hit game, too
Ugh the tmnt death.I can't tell you how many times I've heard that music.
3:18 WAIT A MINUTE! Strong bads!? Holy Crop!!!
ahahaha you definitely have a sense of humor
...Ahh!!! That game!!! I couldn't complete that game when I was little. Someone tell me, what is that game at 7:42?
1:58 the background music is so cool!
Winner is Strong Bads. Holy crap, and all that.
@Metalzoner Yep, totally. I wish they would make more of these kind of games.
What's the game at 1:33? that death music sounded epic.
What is the name of the game with the 4th game over? The one with the blue devil on top. That guy can be summoned with an item in Smash Brawl right?
This video is nostalgia to me.
If you haven't noticed, I picked the first of many NES series.
ie. Mega Man 1, Double Dragon 1, TMNT 1... part 2 will have the sequels.
I'm fairly sure that game is where the people who made Homestar Runner got that idea.
5:03 Well, I got it, this is Ikari Warriors!
2:00 I just love that one... boop bop bop bop bop boop, boop bop bop bop bop bop, bop bop bopbopbopbop, bop bop bop bop bopbop!
Best game over screen wasn't even in this list!
Friday the 13th had the greatest one of all time in my opinion!
@Metalzoner its actually "Rush 'n Attack"
@Knux95 Wild Gunman is the game. the game has 3 parts. and that's the 3rd.
Nostalgia.
I'm glad someone noticed that, too. It's like, you not only lost, you epically failed. Notice how I lost all my E's as well? :p
@BrnoFlowZone
Let's see, Nuts & Milk, F-1 Race, Mappy, Ninja-kun, Mach Rider, Yie Ar, Balloon Fight, Track & Field, Volleyball, & Star Force. Did I miss any?
09:20-09:24 I don't think that advice will work......XD
What's that game by the way?
3:25 is 'Commando' or something like that, right?
5:18 those goddamn motherfucking Eggplant Wizards!
