I do not know why, but the first part of this vid made me think of my mother who passed September, 2009. God rest her soul. She wasn't even into VW's of any sort. But it still feel her when I watch this. Thank you.

Muito Obrigato Gus! I was in Brazil in October 1975 and drove past the Volkswagen factory...it was the BIGGEST factory I'd ever seen anywhere. I don't quite remember what town that was in.

I remember seeing hippies drying these adorable vehicles when I was a child in the 70's. Even back then, they were super cool. Now I am starting to see these vehicles again out and about. My teenage daughter, who is a self-proclaimed hippie at heart, wants one. How safe are these vans? How well do they hold up in an accident? Can they keep up with traffic in a busy city?
I own a 1972 they are so fun to drive and get great gas mileage. plus its a real eye catcher. nice video.

The stretch at 4:53...I saw one like it back in the 70's---had Illinois plates on it & the top of a VW bug was welded onto the back of it.
VW buses are famous because they are very 60-70's retro and they are so versatile in that they are just big enough to be a camper; yet small enough that you don't feel like you're driving around in a motor home. I want to get one to take a cross-country roadtrip from Atlanta to San Diego.

This VW will never die!
Actually the 'Official' designation is Type II (2) Transporter. All other names like samba, kombi, bus etc are nick names given by various peoples and countries. As to the year...always look on the tail light lenses for the year. This should work for any car really but it will work for sure on any VW...hope this helps.
some people say their dream car is a Lamborghini or Ferrari Or Bugatti, well i want a 67' Volkswagen microbus with pearl white roof, lime green sides. that would be the happiest day of my life

Also, as the VW "Beetle" was revived several years ago, has the VW bus also been revived, or do you think there's a chance that it will be?
