Union Pacific Big Boy Train climbing Donner Pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains California

The historical Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4014 steam train set makes it way up Donner Pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. Part of the UP heritage fleet it made its premier in the forests of California on a hot summer day with a plume of smoke and a howling whistle, plenty of people came out to watch the train chug along.

Very impressive. The headlight looks different than it did a couple of years ago. It looks like two bulbs. I find the 4014 at its best when going slowly and chugging and huffing hard.
