I appreciate that you spent time focusing on that downward run Mariah did at 9:11 that hardly anyone brings attention to! Also, the explanation for the intentional blending of their different vocal approaches is enlightening. And that harmonized whistle at the end - shook. Ariana's happiness is palpable.
This is probably the best vocal collab for the longest time now 👀 each singer belted up to G#5 and there’s tons of runs and harmonies all throughout and especially the harmonized whistles... This is the first time we witness 2 different artists harmonize in the whistle register in mainstream music wow 😳 P.s. shoutout to Ariana’s well-balanced G#5, it’s chestier than usual

I love your analysis! I have been saying that timbre of Ariana and Jennifer work perfectly with all of the textures of Mariah's voice. It made for such a surprisingly well balanced track. I kinda hope that we could hear more from them together, like a live performance, a snippet of them recording or singing another song, but I feel like that's just wishful thinking. For now, I'm just obsessively replaying the song.
This is completely accurate, I can't believe that I agreed to everything you said. I prefer this kind of reaction rather than just the other ordinary, boring reaction videos
I love this collab so much. The belts, whistles and the harmonies. I love how you can hear the different textures of each voice. I was saying the same thing about Mariah production skills is keen. Her musical ear is unbelievable. The way she arranged the vocals on this is amazing. I love how you can hear all 3 voices and they shined in their own light. I love Jennifer's belt "OHHH Santaaa" I lived and I love the harmonized whistle note from Mariah and Ariana.
Belts and whistles are exciting, but my favorite parts of the song were when Mariah picked up Arianas runs, the blends were just divine! I love your reaction and analysis, it's always sincere, nuanced and actually insightful. You always notice little details overlooked on all other channels. I get a little annoyed when people act like chesty warm belts of the Whitney/Mariah variety to metallic/twangy school and wonder why the former doesn't venture as high, so thank you for mentioning it. As for whistles, to me they are completely disconnected, unlike super head voice/flageolet (Lisa Fischer, Minnie Ripperton's approach).
@@danielpeters2501 I can see what you mean with that live Vanishing performanc, but it's a quick flip, not a slide. Listen to Lisa Fischer, who slides from belts to 6th octave notes, she uses super HV and it's a completely different register and sound. Or Minnie Ripperton slides back to her "normal" range, which would be impossible with whistle BTW Mariah has some connected notes up there, whistle is just her preferred approach.
greatest trio ever -- I'm obsessed with JHud's "sno0o0o0www this yeaaaar" part and obvs Ari/Mariah whistles are golden and omg these three are so perfecttttt
Mariah has such amazing insight on rounding out a sound with different vocal textures. I can trace so much influence in mainstream music to her new approach to her vocal stylings that came with Emancipation of Mimi and afterward. Caution definitely refined that approach further, too.

As you said the first thing that got me so excited about it is to hear 3 differents sopranos voice on the same songs and doing the same note (G#5/Ab5) ! If I’m not mistaken : Jen is a spinto soprano , Ariana is a light lyric soprano and Mariah is lyric coloratura soprano
@@THEE.apples I know Coloratura is a term that is completely lyrical but Mariah is the definition of it, she did everything that’s possible in that register throughout her career
Loved your reaction. And appreciate the fact that you re-listened to Mariah’s solo F6 whistle note, which left me speechless😱. She’s a vocal technician, and can still hit whistle notes effortlessly. MC is on a whole different level musically speaking. I just feel like people were too focused on that double whistle harmony. It was amazing, don’t get me wrong. But Mariah’s agility during that whistle run was incredible. I’ll always be greatful for her music. And Ariana and Jennifer killed It . Also when it comes to the whistle register. Mariah and Minnie Riperton for me in particular, were the legendary vocalists who made the whistle register capability seem above expectations. Even though Ariana can hit whistle notes. She’s only recently started doing them more often. Whereas Queen MC has been using her whistle register throughout her entire career. She’s a legend, who’s inspired a whole generation of singers.
