Chick Performs a Musical Portrait Virtually

- Back in October, Chick performed a full solo piano concert via livestream for the first time ever. If you've ever been to one of Chick's solo concerts, you probably are familiar with "musical portraits".
Chick will call a couple volunteers to the stage, will ask them to take a seat in front of the piano and will then attempt to capture their personality in the form of an improvised song. This tradition was carried on virtually as our lovely volunteer, Sonia, had her portrait painted for all viewers of the livestream to see!

Tears falling quietly this morning, remembering the beautiful soul and muse of Mr. Corea. Most inspirational musician.

You and Keith Jarrett are both my most favorite pianists.
Same! I'd just add Bill Evans. Keith reminds me of infancy: life, wonder and spontaneity. Chick reminds me of youth: joy, cleverness and exuberance. Evans reminds me of adulthood: love, maturity and contemplation. Like Charlie Parker said: “music can be very descriptive in all kinds of ways, all walks of life”.

@@augustbramming4926 With Keith, you should check out "My Song" and "Somewhere Before". And the "Köln Concert", obviously. If you're in to jazz standards my favorite is "Still Live" from 1988. RIP Chick
