This is the best tutorial about this camera I have found on UA-cam including the glitch about not being able to connect to WiFi while my SD card is in. Same problem. You saved me alot of headache. Thank you!
Thank goodness this video is here! my daughter has this camera and we ordered the wrong SanDisk. Now seeing it's the SanDisk ultra. Not the SanDisk extreme.
Thank you for this tutorial. I seem to have just bought a newer model and while the settings are a little different it was enough to get me started. The instructions that come with the camera are only readable if you are an ant. Cheers John.

Thank you very much for making this video! It helped me tremendously! I used a SanDisk Extreme 32GB microSD card (U3, video speed class V30) and had no issues with either video or sound at 2K recording. I have not bothered with downloading the app to my phone as I have read about many problems with so I bypassed it. Thank you for taking the time!

What is the best SD card for the Action Hero Camera? I've heard not all are alike, must be compatible with device, and I have no idea.? Was going to purchase SanDisk U3, A2, V30

Can you please do an updated video on the new updated camera as it doesn't include a lot of the accessories and has a new software version and doesn't come with micro sd card+it has slightly higher resolutions at about half the price

I bought a very similar camera in June --- Serenelife for $38.10+tx [Blue, unfortunately, but for that price, can't complain too much]--- that also has a front screen that shows the shooting mode and time elapsed for video. It shoots video pretty good, but I don't know/have the means to determine if it is accurately, 4k and 1080p. And it accepts a 64gb micro sd card

Thanks for the video - Can this camera be used for live streaming to a PC or Mac? (I see it can capture to a phone which is very nice, and it seems thru the mini-HDMI out you can view the footage in real-time on a monitor/TV (although the top and bottom show the date and recording mode which you wouldn't want in a live-stream.) I believe there are USB-in from HDMI adapters for about $13 on ebay, but I wouldn't want to see the top and bottom settings. (GoPro I believe has a mode to output for livestreaming).
Thanks for watching. Yes you can use the action camera for live streaming . I've tested it successfully using OBS studio (Doesn't show the date) and by plugging in the camera to the pc using a micro usb. No need for a HDMI adaptor. I may make a separate video on it.

Jan 2023. I have just purchased a camera and having trouble setting it up. Seems as though my camera is a little different to yours. Also not sure why I need to connect to wifi etc. I Will have a look at the link below. I'll keep trying but does not seem to be all that simple.

How come when we view SD card in laptop, it doesn't play long videos at all (any more than 1 minute). Just videos that are a few seconds long.
And we cannot watch the minute long videos in the camera either.

We just tried to set up the camera but the blue light next to the mode button isn't on and I cannot switch between modes. Is the camera faulty? Or maybe a faulty or wrong sim card?

l can't get it out of the case and no instructions how to do it! if l just pull on the top black handle thing like in the video, nothing happens, it is either really stiff or l must use the locket thing on that, but l did that too and no results. Not a good start, l don't want to break the case!
Hey any idea why only 1080 30 fps is the only option I have on video resolution. 4k etc is greyed out and cannot be selected.

I have just bought a zero ZX 30, can’t figure out where the record button is. Do I need to use an app and hit record through my phone. And in the box was about 15 bags of attachments with no instructions. Hmmm getting it to record would be great help firstly. I can play with the attachments later. Thanks for the video instructions.
Hi Bobbie, I’ve had a look the record button is at the top of the camera, the front button is to select modes (record video, take photo, ect) no need to use an app. I hope this helps.

I just bought my son one and we are having lots of issues. 1st problem was when recording a video… it shows it’s recording and the timer ticks up but when I try to play the video it shows 00:00 on time and has no video.

I encountered the same issue. Camera will NOT connect to smart phone. So I guess the camera I have is faulty as well. . . thank you for helping because I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Good to know it is the device even if it's unfortunate.

Hi, you can use an external microphone and plug it via micro usb. However you said you can’t hear audio. Check to see if volume on the camera is high/low in the settings. And also when recording the audio, it will be low if it’s in the waterproof case. Hope this helps :)

Hi, it’s possible what you may have a faulty camera. In regards to connecting a mic attachment, you are correct, you can’t attach a mic with the case on.

Thanks for watching. You press the down arrow button for about 5 seconds until you see the “waiting for wifi connection”. Hope this helps

How do you delete a file from the camera directly?
I just bought this camera for my daughter, she loves it and is just setting it up, however there is no sound when she tested and played the video back, is that how it should be, if not, what do we need to do?
There should be sound. First step would be to check the sound/audio settings, see if it has anything to do with the recording volume. It may also be that when recording with the case on, it may not be picking up the sound. If there is no sound and you believe it is faulty than try and contact support from the supplier. Hope this helps.

Hello! Thanks for making this video. I bought a similar one and tried recording in 4k 2.7k 60fps but the video after importing still looks bad. Do you think I should stick with 1080p 60fps?
You can try it and compare the footage and see what you like best
@@TechGeneral Thanks. Read few articles online, these 4k action cameras are usually interpolated and not actual 4k resolution. They are 1080p upscaled to 4k. I guess I will shoot with 1080p and see how it works

Please answer the question, why wont the wifi get a connection on my phone. PLEASE ANSWER THIS< I have been attempting it for too many hours to count and all of these tutorials just connect right away. Is the camera its own wifi signal? This doesnt make any sense.
Yes, when the camera wifi is turned on, it should show up on your phone settings wifi. Select it and enter the password. It should connect when you go on the app

Hows the stabilization on the video?
And the external mic.
For the stabilisation, it depends on the brand. The one on this video isn’t that good. I did a review on a gimbal and talked about stabilisation here: ua-cam.com/video/zXbBxYNmjL0/v-deo.html
As far as the external mic you’ll need to use an adapter (audio jack to micro usb) and it depends on mic you use. External mic is far better for capturing audio.

I'm not able to connect with the wifi with the card in or out. I ordered the card at the same time I ordered the camera. Anyone have the same issue? I guess I'll go back to my old reliable GoPro
Depending on the camera brand it may require a different app to download.
