Hi Lightsourced, yes you can definitely use stiff consistency buttercream to do this...I would highly recommend checking out Cupcake Jemma Buttercream Masterclass video, it will work perfectly for this 😉👍💖
These are so ridiculously cute. I love this idea. I love all the desert hues on these cookies. These would be a great idea to make for my brother and his family who live in Arizona, USA which is a desert. I don’t think it would survive the trip if I mailed them though. I live in Kansas currently (lived in several states so far) which is smack dab in the middle of the country and sunflowers are starting to bloom. We planted a bunch in our backyard but not too far from us, a farmer has millions of sunflowers and it is quite the spectacular sight. Thank you! 🌵🌵🌵🌻🌻🌻
Hi G, its always a pleasure hearing from you 😃 And yes you definetely should try making these for your brother, i bet they would love it! And what i would give to see a spectacular sight of sunflowers right now! We are right in the middle of winter and its so dreary here 😖 I also think taking all the inspiration from all those gorgeous sunflowers you should make a sunflower cookie!! 😁💖👍
Thank you Martha, so pleased you like the tutorial...they are my personal fave because i love succulents so much, i have them all over my house and i try to make them to look similar to my plants at home 😁😊💖👍
Thank you Martha, so happy to hear that you are enjoying my video, thank you so much for taking the time to leave your lovely comments, much appreciated 😉🙌💖
Thank you!! I’ve been watching cactus piping videos for several days and this is the only one I need. You went over all of the techniques and tools that I would have otherwise had to glean from like 6 different sources. Thank you so much for the beautiful video! Also, we need to use a dairy-free frosting- Do you know if butter substitutes can be used in frosting and then air dried? We’re making some Encanto cupcakes ahead of time and need them to dry before applying to cupcakes/cake. (I live in a pleasantly humid place, no access to a dehumidifier.)
I love them too Janka!! I cant store staring at them, they are still sitting in the glass dome at home on my dining table...it makes me happy looking at them 😍💖
Wow your cookies are awesome! You really surprise me every time!!!! Love love love them no doubt!!!! 😍😍😍😍 Love every video you post Natalia! You inspire me! Congratulations for you beautiful work!!
Aww thank you kindly my dear friend, you always manage to brighten my day with your lovely comments. Thank you for watching my videos and for always bringing a smile to me 😘😍💖
Thank you Holly, and yes i agree that is a lot of icing 😅 The kids doesnt seem to mind but most adults seems to just want to stare at it and not eat it hahaha 🤣 I just thought I'd share the piping technique here, and I think if you like buttercream icing it would be better for this design than royal icing 😉💖
@@CookieliciousNZ definitely! I see little kids and my siblings eating icing or frosting like it is a meal, but it is just for the presentation! I WOULD just stare at the cakes or cookies beauty if I could resist eating it. I usually end up taking of half the icing or frosting on cakes or cookies with to much!😅
@@hollywilson5439 Ditto!! I'm the same with you, i dont like the taste of fondant with cakes and i usually just eat the cake leave the fondant....I also dont eat my own cookies (apart from quality assurance & testing purposes LOL) my family eats them all the time! They are always asking if there is any spare cookies or reject cookies that they can gobble! hahaha 😂🤣😁
It would probably be a good amount of buttercream on cupcakes, and still look as beautiful :) Especially chocolate cupcakes, they would look like little succulent pots!
I like all ur deco cookies. Just want to make a little request...maybe next time u can share something related to wedding ie. cake/ wed gown cookies. Anyway, I love & keep following ur channel because of these cute & beautiful things 😍😍😍
I love this!!! 😍😍😍 Btw would it be ok if i dry up the succulents in a dehydrator or do you think its best to air dry it overnight? I’d like to try this sometime.... thanks
Hi Kelly, i got that cake stand from a local gift shop that were closing down a few years back, sorry i wish i can give you a link but i didn't purchase it online unfortunately 🙂
weddingshop.theknot.com/product/miniature-glass-bell-jar-with-white-fluted-base?gclid=CjwKCAiA3abwBRBqEiwAKwICA67QsRMzY7UGPKkRan-NOPQNCunC1tctYZKgUlPbYnk_5E1PMuYhUxoCNMoQAvD_BwE i found these! very similar!
Hi can this type of icing be stable enough to withstand hot weather? iI live on a hot weather I would kove to do this but I am worried of it melting in the cookies. 😅
Hi Nat, love you work as usual ❤️. Do you recommend to buy a set of Wilton flower /leaf pipping tip or just buy them individually. I got overwhelmed with so many variety of them.
Hi m sunarto, I bought mine individually and i found that other leaf tip doesn't work so well for me apart from the Wilton 352 & PME ST51 & ST52, those 3 leaf tips are the ones that works really well, the others i can't work with as the leaf tends to split in the middle for some strange reason, so i stick with the ones that works well for me 😉👍💖If you want to experiment more then i would suggest buying a set, but i found i never use everything that i buy from a set, I only use a select few....so that is why i buy my piping tips individually now as i need them 😊
Cookielicious NZ thank you. Do I need to buy the flower nail stand separately? When I click your link , it only show flower nail but it don’t include the stand . Thanks
hi m sunarto, i make my own flower nail stand which is just a square foam that i pierce on top to stick the flower nail on. You can make your own too if you have a square foam or a white Polystyrene, you can stick the nail on top to rest it. However if you want to get a proper nail stand you can buy it as well, if you want it on its own they are usually made of wood, here is a link: amzn.to/2o3Gt And if you haven't buy the flower nail separately yet, you can also buy a set of different size flower nail and a stand as well as a flower lifter scissors, here is a link for the set: amzn.to/2PABG75 Hope that helps! 😉💖
the flower scissor is only useful when you make buttercream flowers, you use the scissors to transfer the flower from the flower nail to the cake, but if you are only planning to use royal icing you wont need the scissors 🙂
Hi Roxan, I'm not sure about that, i dont have any experience with the ready-to-use royal icing so my advice would be to try it and make a little batch to see if that works as an experiment 😊
Hi amaniemom, I used a leaf green Progel food colouring for the green and for the pink i used ProGel in Claret and add a touch of violet/purple in Wilton gel colouring. I don't actually have a particular method of measuring my gel colours, i just mix and add colours until i see the shade that i like lol hope that helps 😁👍💖
no you dont need to wait for the petals to dry for each layer, otherwise it will take a long time to make them 😋 you can pipe the petals all at once and then leave them to dry. You just need to make sure that you are using the correct icing consistency so that they will retain their shape nicely 😉
Hi I have a question, can i keep these in a fridge to set ? I live in Sri Lanka the weather here is different more warmer . I appreciate your kind reply. Thank you 😊
Hello Trac, and warm greetings from New Zealand to Sri Lanka 😊💖 It depends on what type of icing you will be using to make these. My advice is in two parts: If you are using a crusting buttercream icing then yes you can put them into the fridge or freezer for the succulents to set and get harden. If you are using buttercream I would suggest putting it into the freezer straight away, it will set hard inside the fridge/freezer and makes it easier to handle after they set. HOWEVER, if you are using royal icing then NO, you cannot put piped royal icing into the fridge as they will affect the icing. If you are using royal icing, then let them air-dry overnight and once the royal icing set hard it wont melt.Hope that helps 😉💕👍
Cookielicious NZ Wow that was a quick response thanks so much . The reason i said this because I don’t want insects to settle . I will try what you suggested. So once i freeze do you think they will melt ?
LOL i was in the middle of replying to someone else when I saw your question popped-up in my screen, that's why I thought I'd just reply straight away hahaha 😄 You asked after freezing them so i presume you are going to use Buttercream icing then? If its hot/humid where you are then it could potentially melt after you take them out of the freezer, but i can't say for sure as I dont know the condition in your kitchen. Another thing you can do is to let it crust at a room temperature, because if you let it crust then there is less chance for it to melt. If you are worried about insect then i would suggest putting them into a cooling rack and then put an insect cover on top 😊
Hi Rolando, you can use the dehydrator to dry your royal icing succulent. It shouldnt take long for them to dry then you can use it to decorate your cookies 😊
I always have issues when doing any popping, the buttercream always starts to melt when I'm holding the bag. Is there anything I can do so it wont keep melting ?
On another video I saw someone wear a mitten on their hand. I purchased a heat-resistant glove that you wear when using heat tools on your hair. So that's working pretty well for me...
Lamento que mi español sea realmente malo. Uso goggle translate para ayudarme 😊 Espero que todavía puedan ver y aprender del video eventho que el idioma no es fácil de entender 😉💕
Is there a stiff consistency buttercream recipe you can use for this, for cupcakes? Or should the royal icing only be used?
