Has anyone really listened to these lyrics?? As I women who believes in God and I seem to a pretty good understanding of his word.. this goes against it. This man is trying to the you that (when the king takes side) meaning when the Lord returns... he will pick sides leaving the ones who don't believe... not true. When I returns yes he will take his child ( the ones living for him) so he's not picking side. We have already done that. But he will not return until ALL have had a chance to hear about him and KNOW that he is the King of Kings and Lord or Lords. So there for as children of God we are to spread his word. But as you can here in this song he is saying we must keep it a secret. Just thought you might what to know what your really listening too. 🙂

I think the original song refers to the government siding with the church, or otherwise uniting King and Cross, and the terrors that follow. Like most of the Reformation, the Icelandic Reformation was brutal.
