I'm so happy to hear that you're thinking of trying the jumpsuit, setting aside the issues of having a bit of weight on, or worries that something new and different won't suit you. Several of the vloggers I watch have mentioned such concerns, and while I know we don't see everything all of you do and try, what I'm continually inspired by is how lovely you all look in your makes and how good you are at choosing how to dress and style yourselves. I know, often, it's difficult to see beyond our critiques of ourselves, but I think trying new things and doing what we can to put some of those concerns aside is a way to see ourselves differently, hopefully in a more gentle, accepting light. That you feel drawn to that jumpsuit is perhaps a sign that it will suit you, and I hope if you make it, that you feel wonderful in it. That fabric is gorgeous, and you'll look fabulous in it. And, it's okay to make things that feel a little indulgent from time to time. If you feel good in it, perhaps you'll find more opportunities to wear it than you might think.
Yes girl just go for it, the fabric is beautiful and you can carry off such flamboyance, I think the jumpsuit would be amazing in that fabric it's so unusual. The previous comment says it all. ❤️🏴
I think the Luna jumpsuit in that fabric is a HELL YES!!!! Throw a slouchy black cardi over it for work (maybe a t-shirt underneath too) or throw a sparkly shawl and some great jewelry on for a night out.
I don’t know if anyone else feels the same but I would still enjoy the challenge and take part even without prizes and a planned vlogger tour. Those things are great but if it means that the challenge tails off because you and Sam struggle with the workload then I for one would happily forego that part, I’m sure plenty of vloggers would still share their plans and patterns 🥰
That fabric was stunning! Yes! Definitely use it. I’m a bit of a fossil now, my stash is overflowing with fabrics that I wanted to save for something special. Well, you know what? Something special never comes. 80% of them would look ridiculous on me now. So i missed that bus for no reason. If i’d made a simple garment out of that stunning fabric, i would have worn it to death. Instead, now i call it my ‘cupboard of regrets’ and all that stunning fabric just makes me sad now. Moral of the story? Use your stunning fabric. There’s always more stunning fabric down the road.
Yes, you should definitely use that fabric for the jumpsuit. It would be perfect to wear on a date night. I'm the same...zero plain fabrics in my stash for myself lol x
In the spirit of "If you build it, they will come" I say that if you make it, the place to wear it will come. It's gorgeous fabric, the pattern is fantastic and you will look stunning in it, even if you just wear it to go to the shops!
That jumpsuit will look stunning on you. And everyday is an occasion to wear it! Of course I am taking part in sewfrugal24. If it weren't for Frugal Frocks back in 2021, I would not have picked up sewing again. So thank you for that!!
I HAVE to see your jumpsuit made up in that gorgeous fabric ❤ I am in, not sure what I will make. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH, YOU BRING ME SO MUCH JOY. ❤
Love all these ideas! I think you should go for it and make the jumpsuit! While it may look a bit more dressy, I think it would look super cool with sandals or sneakers and a denim jacket. Excited to see what you decide!
I don't have the time or mindset for sewing right now since I'm doing palliative care for my senior cat. She was recently diagnosed with lymphoma so most of my energy is focused on her. Thank you for your lovely pattern suggestions, I'm sure I'll take a closer look at them when I'm able.💜
I was on pins and needles waiting for you to show the fabric. And it did not disappoint! Do it, it will be sooooo beautiful. Can't wait til the reveal day.
And Ruan will look gorgeous in it and wear it at weddings, to parties, on holidays, for date nights etc etc… Seriously girl, you know from Insta that you don’t have to be skinny to look great in a jumpsuit. Yes your body has changed a little but it’s still beautiful. Let it have nice things!
I think the sewfrugal is my favourite challenge. For many of us, we have some lovely fabrics in our stash, and there they sit! This makes us think about those fabrics, and get us motivated to use them. Good fabrics are like good dishes, what's the point of just having them! Use them, enjoy them, show them off! I LOVE your jumpsuit idea, both fabric and pattern. I think it would look more casual with a little tshirt underneath. I'd love to make it, but I don't think I have the correct fabric in my stash. Now that vest! I had a vision of some fabric in the stash that would be perfect. I think I will be downloading that pattern today! Thanks for hosting and all the inspiration.
Oh Ruan that fabric for the jumpsuit is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to see it. I like your pattern choices and love that they are no more than 1.5 yards.
Yay, definitely make the jumpsuit in that lush fabric! Thanks for the pattern pics too and for all your hard work organising the challenge. Wasn’t gonna take part but I think all the fab bloggers have convinced me ❤
I really appreciate the thoughtful free patterns that are not only size inclusive but not the norm styles. Thanks for stash busting ideas. Great video. Happy sewing.
Your vlog just popped up on my screen and I'm so glad. I'm learning to sew (2 weeks in!), so most of what you said was a bit la-la😂 but I know one day I will be able to make something wearable. So far I've made a needle-case, a scissors case and a knitting needle roll (that's pretty rubbish and floppy) and today I've done the turn up one one leg of my jeans. I'm going to subscribe to your channel just to get the good sewing vibes and to see the beautiful patterns you show. The material you've chosen for the jumpsuit is amazing (I'm using fabric from cut up shirts of my hubby's- he hasn't noticed they're missing from his wardrobe yet😮😂. Also got a few it's from a charity shop to practice on my sewing machine. Thanks for this lovely podcast.
Hu Ruan a jumpsuit in that fabric will be fantastic I did the keylo wrap dress in the green for Christmas and got lots of compliments so just go for it Dawn xx

I cannot participate-having wrist surgery next week, but look forward to seeing all the "makes" and hearing all about it!! :+) Thank you!!
I just downloaded the Wanderflower blouse Ruan. I think I've sewn enough now to attempt a Mood pattern. It's super cute and I have leftover fabric from subscribing to the Think Pink box. Thanks so much for these ideas and for all your hard work putting together the SewFrugal challenge with Sam. xx Karen
Thank you for all the Sew Frugal inspiration and great to hear about some different free patterns, especially for 1.5 m of fabric. I got super excited to hear about the Sue skirt as I love that pattern and immediately went on the website to download it! I have so many smaller pieces of linens and I think this would be perfect. You will be able to wear it anywhere in the summer, will be lovely and cool and comfy. You could always pop on a close fitting top in the cooler months; let's face it, we have more of the cooler months in the UK!
The luna jumpsuit in that fabric would be fabulous. I’m taking part in the challenge but need to decide which item I’m going to make, have too many ideas! I’ve made the Pogonip waistcoat twice already but may do another one as it’s a great use of a small fabric piece.

Thanks Ruan, I’ve definitely got a selection of 1-1.5m pieces (particularly from when I started sewing and had no idea how much was actually required for things 😂) Funny you mention your plain to print ratio in your stash, I think lots of us are guilty of print overload! Looking forward to seeing what you make 🌼
I'm looking forward to seeing this jumpsuit! It's going to be a work of art! Imagine where you'd like to wear it and get tickets, or reservations, and go. You deserve it.
I love the idea of the jumpsuit in that fabric! It will be great for a wedding and a night out with the hubby! I really hope you “indulge” yourself because you’re worth it! Thanks for the challenge Ruan and Sam! 💜💚🖤
Hi Ruan! Bish, Bash, Bosh! Lolol. I am going to try this Ruan! Thanks for sharing this. I didn't know any of these patterns. I'm too big for only using 1½ meters. ❤
