Good on ya Paul, enjoyed the waffle as you call it, just you going through the walk around as if we are there with you, perfect. 👍 Look forward to the next one.
The pressure at dipstick if not fitted right or removed while engine is running is crankcase pressure. That wont affect oil pressure . The crankcase pressure is the compression that inevitably passes the piston rings in an engine while running that is fed back via pipe on rocker cover into air filter hence the sometimes oily substance inside filter housing . Hope this helps .
@@Love500 Maybe why Copart guy left it up the road once he saw message come on as it was backed off truck . The little amount of oil would run away from pickup pipe. should be fine after a flush Paul.
Dont struggle with the lack of a door handle, get a length of 1mm electrical cable and make a loop around the door handle hook inside the door, you can then just pull the cable and open the door. Looks like a good project.
Copart Rochford have form for leaving cars outside the gate, did same with one of mine early one morning. Keys left inside car too. This one doesn't look too bad, should make a nice car once finished 👍👍
The muddy footprints is the Copart petrol thieves doing their deed. Best check under the seats to make sure they put everything back correctly and no fuel vapour leaks.
Hi Paul have a question unrelated to this about retro fitting cruise control to a 500 have you ever covered it ? I see parts on ebay and there are retro kits etc. ?
I haven't but I've seen several people on Facebook groups who have bought kits and fitted it in less than an hour. Really easy apparently and works well.
I would try out the P&S Xpress interior cleaner on that steering wheel and in the interior in general. It works really well at cleaning up steering wheels and other interior parts, it's got a good smell too.
@@RoccoReviews never heard of it, but I’ll have a search for it. I tend to use elbow grease as a general purpose cleaner. Great stuff but not the best smell.
Mine has climate, love it, simply set & never touch it. Not sure why that was at 32 😂 Good timing with both door handles i was going to ask you before i set about mine. I've done it for when they've broken outside but before i set about it again what can be the issue when the handle just refuses to open from inside? What's going to be broken? Too cold to set about looking at moment, I'm winding window down & letting myself out thst way for now 😂😂 Cheers 🍻
@@stepheng8779 my other mint one had that problem yesterday, the day I sold it. I changed the lock mechanism today. The cable was greyed and probably stretched.
Ah be fair Paul, cool wheels are far more important than putting oil in the engine, don't mind that 😅. Although it inadvertently happened to me, but didn't have it long , that is my excuse, don't know how it ran 😮. Grrr them locking wheel bolts.
Cracking little car bud, but that oil is really bad, In my opinion I don’t think oil flush will get all that out. If that was mine I would probably go the extreme of taking the sump off and clean the oil pickup, all that thick clumpy oil will definitely block it and starve the top of the engine. I would run it with engine cleaner and flush it out with cheap oil a few times then take off the sump, that’s definitely a lack of oil changes apart from that it’s a good car as usual bud 😅
@@RevivingSalvage yeah I don’t think I’ll go to the extreme of taking the sump off but I’m already running some oil in it and have bought some flush. Will most likely run some more oil through after.

@@Love500 Provided oil light goes off within a couple of seconds of starting engine the oil pickup is probably fine. A lot of engines get sludge around oil filler cap, doesn't mean whole engine is sludged up. Incidentally the oil light shows pressure of oil being fed to bearings so a loose dipstick couldn't affect oil pressure 👍👍
Liked this video. The flushing is a 50/50. Flushes to the gauze. Some mechanics hate the practice. I need go back and watch the over on oil level to being mega low on oil hence the warning light message low oil pressure. I don’t understand why showed as overfull and empty same time. Hi paul get some stp flush for engine fast idle for 10 minutes should clear a lot of sludge out 😃

@@Love500 Save yourself money and put half a litre of diesel as a flushing agent. Been doing it for over 40 years without an issue.
I do like the mint colour, far better than the white. Should fly out the door.
In the past I had engines like this run till hot with an extra 500 ml of ATF in the oil before draining it.
Might get the sludge out.
The clutch / brake fluid looked really dark / dirty too Paul.
I used a kit from Amazon by Scratch Doctor to refinish my daughters steering wheel. She was very happy with it. Around £24 for the kit
I'd go with Project Double Yellow on this one after the way it was dumped out on the street.

Amazing what a litre and a half of oil does for an oil warning light. What is the oil capacity on these, can't have been much in the thing.
