    • @worldofsportshd1904
      @worldofsportshd1904 Місяць тому +7

      @@charlietheunissen5982based on my personal capacity I don't see anything wrong with tribalism in any sort of politics because if you are Xhosa you know your struggle and other person will never understand your struggle as a Xhosa person so it's so easy to be tribal in that sense. and they know their struggle in KZN that is why they supported Jacob Zuma because their demands are equal and same, so they understand each other better than any other tribe. that is why KZN went out and support Jacob Zuma
      instead of supporting IFP. If it was the more case of tribalism I think KZN would support IFP, but the narrative of IFP does not aligned with the demands and needs of KZN people so that is why they took a chance and support the newly formed uMkhonto wesizwe.

      Definitely you are precisely on Point my Chief, and since I've ever been involved with South African Politics, I've never heard or seen anything coming from KZN given any good Commentary or Applause, accept Tribalistic Criticism and lack of Modernity, in whatsoever they do for their Identity and Culture, and that narrative has been used to destroy Former President Zuma's Political Career, which happened to nullify every effort that good Fellow Citizen had for this Country.
      Oh; help us God.

    Let's also acknowledge the Zuma mitigating effect during 2019 elections because he actively campaigned for the ANC. The thing that no other president has done after their terms. He was the highest ranking member of the ANC who really went out there and campaigned. It can be argued that if he had behaved like Mbeki (after his term) the ANC would have dipped more in 2019. The fact that we saw these elite ANC so-called "heavy weights" coming out to campaign is testament to Zuma's absence and they collectively failed. Zuma kicked their asses even without the backing of the SABC which midway decided not to show Zuma on the field. Thanks you for very valid points Prof.

    The following poem was inspired by Prof Sipho Seepe’s discussion with Lindiwe Sisulu on his UA-cam channel back in 2022 just before the ANC’s National Conference where Ramaphosa emerged as President of the ANC for the second time. I wrote this poem as I was watching the interview…One Love to you Prof ❤:
    Mama I have watched you get raped by Invasions, Slavery and Colonialism
    Today I am watching you get raped by Neocolonialism
    Baba I have seen you fight to protect Mama from Invasions, Slavery and Colonialism
    Today I am trying to fight Mama’s rapists and you Baba are fighting me to protect the Crime committed on Mama by Neocolonialism
    Baba please pay attention to the Universe as the blood of our Ancestors that was spilled on it is trying to talk to us
    Mama your own seed that you gave birth to is trying to destroy your essence while Baba is defending this cruel act
    Baba if you continue to ignore that inner voice from your Ancestors then you are leaving me as your Child no choice but to kick you aside so that I can directly confront the rapist myself
    Mama Kemet Kush Punt Lesotho KwaZulu or Simply put Mama land of black heavenly beings
    Baba Kemet Kush Punt Lesotho KwaZulu or Simply put Baba land of black heavenly beings
    Child Kemet Kush Punt Lesotho KwaZulu or Simply put Child land of black heavenly beings
    Mama Afrika, Baba Afrika and Child Afrika you are the original trinity that is indestructible
    Rise above all your challenges tripartite universal entity that gave birth to itself in all the diversified forms of life in the Cosmos

    Parliament only becomes a Parliament at the sittting of the National Assembly. That is, after the elected members have taken the oath of office as MPs.
    For National Assembly to sit, it needs at least 350 members to take their seats (i.e. be sworn-in to become members). There is a total of 400 seats. The MK party has 58 elected members.
    If the 58 elected members of MK are not sworn-in, thus do not take their parliamentary seats, there is no National Assembly. It cannot sit in terms of section 46(1).
    The election of the State President and Parliament Speaker in terms of section 53 requiring 1/3 of Parliamentary members to be present to form a quorum APPLIES ONLY on a constituted Parliament. So far, there is no constituted parliament until the National Assembly sits in terms of section 46(1).
    The IEC declaration of election result is not an act of creating Parliament. The IEC is not empowered to constitute Parliament. It is not a player, judge, jury and law-giver.

    • @morutiledwaba3471
      @morutiledwaba3471 Місяць тому

      Please be informed before you spew the untruth. The sitting of Parliament to elect the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and the President does not need 350 Members perform their function. These functions will happen whether the 58 MKP members attend the swearing in or not. Please read the documents articulating this before making uninformed commentary. As for Sipho Seepe's views the least said about him the better. What a waste of time by the so-called "Professor". Pathetic!

    • @ohlangeni
      @ohlangeni Місяць тому +1

      @@morutiledwaba3471 Rubbish. Section 46(1) is clear. The National Assembly consists of at least 350 members. There is no National Assembly where the members are below 350. The National Assembly is the lower house of Parliament.
      You are referring to section 53 of the Constitution that says that 1/3 third of members can elect the President and Speaker. One Third of Parliament is 133 members. That section sets out the quorum once the parliament is constituted. In other words, persons on the IEC party-list must be sworn-in as MPs. Once the number of persons who have taken the oath of office reach 350 then the National Assembly is constituted. Then, and only then shall the issue of the quorum (section 53) arise.
      Without the MK's 58 members, there is no 350 (the total number is 400). Hence, no parliament, thus s53 does not kick-in.

    The Prof’s analysis fails in toto at explaining the complexities in SA body politic.
    1. Zuma is a populist politician, a demagogue so to speak. He’s even more charismatic than Mandela. As a politician, he’s even more skillful than Mandela, Mbeki, and Ramaphosa summed up together. These are characteristics that have served him and his MK party well. But, we have seen him in power in the context of a booming economy post-Mbeki and what he did with it.
    2. Most leading ANC, MK, EFF, etc are kleptocrats. The steal from the people. The election results manifest that the masses vote corrupt leaders. How can these leaders change the status quo? I doubt they can.
    3. Black majority government smacks of reverse apartheid. The decision of the people must be respected. A GNU may be the best solution. National problems are managed by all parties in the government. Each party checks the other party in government.
    4. If the ANC can challenge the MK in future, it should vote a politician who understands the political trenches of South African politics, a charismatic leader so to speak. Technocrats like Mbeki and Ramaphosa are needed in governance, not leadership. A large segment of the people may never understand the technicalities of governance. They are more interested in what is offered them by the government.
    5. I agree with the prof’s analysis of market influence in SA politics. The market is and will always be there. It is more interested in the economy and politics for its own interests. It can be tamed. It is happy when the economy is booming. Politicos influence markets as markets influence politics.
    6. The major problem is meeting the needs of the people. The how question has been more or less illusive.
    7. The SA judiciary must play its role in stamping out corruption and stealing by politicians from the public purse. It must clean the SA politics of these ills.

So, if what black people consume is what leads them to believe what they believe, you cannot really entirely blame their perception on hypocrisy.

    Although Zuma had more good deeds we cannot forget how he disbanded Scorpion. The Gupta family taking over and offering people ministerial positions.
    Ramaphosa has failed indeed but Zuma cannot be presented as a saint. Prof Seepe was also a bandwagon for Ramaphoria. He only changed a tune when Rama started falling

    What Sipho does is not political analysis. He is partisan. You can always predict what he will say
