Chico Fernandez is the man's name. Sleepin' on his guns alludes to him having his hand on his pistol while he sleeps, either in bed or reclined in a chair. A very typical trope in spaghetti western movies is for either outlaws or lawmen to be so hunted and, as a result, mentally prepared to encounter danger at all times that they instinctively sleep ready to fire shots.
