Of course he is not as quick or explosive in year 17 but you have to also take into account the different offenses and players Russ has been in the last 4 seasons. He has had to play differently because of the stars he has been playing with and the fact these have not been his teams or teams centered around his talent and skill. Over the last 4 years he has had to wait for Bron and AD, Kawhi and PG, and now Jokic and Murray. Even when he is playing with reserves he has to run the offenses the head coaches have set up. The last season Russ was allowed to play his style of basketball was 2020/2021 with The Wizards. Since then the only time we got to see Russ unleashed was the postseason of 2022/2023 when Kawhi went down. He's trying to win a championship so he is playing differently. Go watch that Clippers vs Suns playoff series. You'll see that Russ can still play at an elite level when he is a #1 or #2 scoring option and can just run and play at a higher pace.
Damn its nice to see him in a Denver Jersey. Come playoffs, He is what their are missing. Just pure energy, hustle, teamwork, teamplay. He brings this ENERGY with him. And he is a good person, fits in well with Denver! Gunna be a good year!
