The editing is so great in this scene. Without a lot of dialogue, you can see the subtle but real buy in of the audience. Then you see the talking w/o Chris knowing what is going on or his gf either.

Most of the vocal work, if not majority of it for the movie was Miljenko Matijevic though. I mean they literally adapted his own bands name into the movie. Steel Dragon was the fake Hollywood version of his band SteelHeart
I started getting back into singing SPECIFICALLY because of this song. And when my school had their teacher talent show for the students to come watch, and they saw their favorite Geography teacher singing this lovely little ballad and then but out the high notes...I almost couldn't hear anything else. :)

I own this movie. And If I had a nickel every time somebody watched it at my place and are stunned. They say "This is incredible!" " I never heard of it!" I seriously think they pushed this movie under the radar on purpose. It's sums up SO much of the 80"s and 90's in a movie it's amazing.

Are we missing the fact that this is basically the Tim "Ripper" Owens story? Tim was in a Judas Priest tribute band. When Halford left someone sent the band a tape of Owens. He got the gig, and (I may be wrong here) his first album with them was Juggulator. When Halford wanted to come back Owens left the band. Tim was also a vocalist for Iced Earth, replacing and being replaced by Matthew Barlow, and sings in the Dio's Disciples band (basically Dio without Ronnie, though they do have a hologram). The film was supposedly approved by Priest, and then wasn't, so changes were made. I remember watching this and thinking, "This is the Tim Owens story!" Fun Fact: In the film, Marky Mark goes to Seattle and starts singing Grungey Alternative singer-songwriter stuff. In real life, Tim Owens also sang for a band called Seattle, doing covers of Grungey Alternative singer-songwriter stuff.
This is arguably Mark Wahlberg’s finest hour as an Actor. Fans saw a sweet lovable vulnerability in Mark that they had not seen before in his previous films. This movie was well written, well cast and had the 80’s culture down to a science!
Awesome movie....one of my all time favorites. Brings me back to the 80's everytime I hear the music. Oh.....Jennifer Anniston & Tania are smokin hot also!

When they started their set I was shocked to see Jeff Pilsen playing bass for them. Come to think of it I don’t know if any of the original members were playing. It was about eight years ago or so.
A brilliant (& personally chilling) poignant scene by a motion picture for rock music fans!!....as were many in this film!! The construed juvenile scenes were cute. An exceptional production of a simple story created & executed perfectly by all those behind it and cast in it! An undersold yet timeless cult film that didn’t get the recognition it deserved.

Jennifer Aniston reminds me of my 2nd rocker wife I married back than she was so supportive of me as a singer for metal for high vocals and my audio engineering days she was my music producer for one time on an album and did 3d art for my music! Too bad we never worked out as we loved the 80’s together and in public we looked like rock stars from that era always people knowing we were together when walking into anywhere in public!
Yup! There's a whole course dedicated to lip-syncing in acting school, so he's a pro as an actor! That being said...the real musicians in this movie are massively underrated!
I love the whole movie despite critics saying it was corny. Critics suck. Wahlberg has a knack for picking out great parts. Maybe they just find him. The Fighter is a great flick also.

I was told that the movie was basically based on Tim Owens time with Judas Priest.
I enjoy the audio technology they had back then. All analogic, sure costed millions but the quality of the sound was unique.
I watch this over and over, I know Mark isn't really singing , but I love it. I love Jen Aniston and the reaction of the panel.

I love the whole movie despite critics saying it was corny. Critics suck. Wahlberg has a knack for picking out great parts. Maybe they just find him. The Fighter is a great flick also.
I saw this in like 2003 and think that's when I knew I wanted to do music. love this movie.
