Fantastic video 💯 I’m competing there in the 2022 Canadian Open Qualifier in a few weeks. I’m soaking up as much course knowledge as I can on UA-cam before arriving on the 25th to prepare. Qualifier on the 30th. Looks like an amazing layout. Looking forward to figuring it out😉 thank you again for this video. I’m doing my homework and you just gave me cheat notes lol ✌️⛳️🏌🏽♂️🤣
Awesome Matthew! Best of luck in your qualifying...wind will be an issue there for sure....some of those long par 4s holes on the back nine were tough as they were straight into the wind. Overall I found the course to be very easy off the tee...but around the greens is tough! You need to be dialed in with your approach shots and tidy around the greens to shoot a good score! Best of luck and let me know how you do
This course is open to the public. They could not sell enough memberships to make it the private high end place they thought it would be. Prices have been all over the place for a membership.
This course was a big disappointment. It had been so talked up but didn't live up to the hype. When I played they had no yardage markers and no GPS on carts. Definitely a day you needed a scope. I am a low single digit handicap and played golf all over the world. For the $180 dollar price tag I would expect better. They also chose one of the windest areas near calgary to place this course. Definitely not a course you would want to play everyday unless you like 40km winds. They did however move lots amounts of dirt but the price tag they spent does not reflect. I guess thats what happens when you build a course in a farmers field. Like your other vlog travel 45 min east and play kananaskis. The value for dollar is unmatched. For a premium course the service was none existent. A few employees hanging around. No bag service and filthy disgusting washrooms, no beverage carts. I know many who had this experience as well.
Thanks for the comment! I agree with a lot of what you said....my friends and I enjoyed the experience, but it really was a one and done for us...we wouldn't pay to play there again and most definitely it would be a tough track to be a member at and play every day. There was some nice holes, and I do think the course is still very young, when the trees grow in, it will be nicer, but that being said Kananaskis is absolutely world class!
Oh man - this video has me excited for my round here this weekend - thanks for sharing this!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it and hope you had a great round 😀
