Nice chicken house! Thank you, Jayme and Kevin, for helping Lyssa and Mike put it together!
Wow, Jamie and Kevin, ya'll are great ! That is the cutest chicken coop. Can't wait to see the chickens in there. Good you have some extra space so you can move and rotate the chicken coop around and fertilize the ground by laying some hay down and using the chicken poop for compost for your garden. Just shovel up the first coop area in a pile after you move the coop over and keep rotating it . Good as gold fertilizer. Bunny poop can be used right away. Chicken poop composite takes about 6 months. With the light weight coop it will be easy to do. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks to Jaymie & Kevin for helping ya put it together. That is a big coop, very nice.
You might need to put a tarp over that as your chickens will be really hot and they will get wet if it rains.
That was so nice of Kevin and Jayme to come over and help you with your chicken run. Great community you live in. Great coop. Good luck✌️🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
…THERE IS PLENTY OF HEAD SPACE IN THE CHICKEN COOP FOR MIKE TO MAKE SOME PERCHING BAR FOR THEM 😊😊
Pops is terrific and Kevin and Jamie are sweet to help you with the coop.
Thanks Pops😊 what blessing this coop is😊
Hi Mike, Lyssa and friends, Wednesday already likes her spot. Thats wonderful you have someone helping you. Love the chicken pen. That is really nice. What a wonderful gift from pops. Have a great day and God Bless DD5 ❤
It's a great chicken run! Your animals will be spoiled! But predators will try to dig under the sides to get to the chickens. Be careful and secure the sides in the ground. Good luck and success with your first chickens!
Good point!
Thanks Kevin & Jamie for helping out,God is smiling down.🤗❤️❤️Good job guys, you got it together.Looks great🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great job putting together the chicken run and coop. Thanks to Anthony and Roxanne for the baby chickens. Thanks too Pops for the donation. ❤
Hello 🤗 So nice of Kevin & Jamie to help build the chicken coup 🐓😉 looks real nice 👍
That was an awesome build! It came out great! Thank you Kevin and Jamie for helping them out! Can't wait to see more videos!!
TY Jamie and Kevin for helping Mike and Lyssa 😊 The baby chickens will love it❤️🇨🇦
thank you Jamie and Kevin for helping with putting together the chicken coop and the donation from Pops. that chicken coop is really nice and and I can’t wait to see the chickens in there soon.👍😊
Jayme and Kevin are good people❤😊
Amazing
Glad your feeling better Mike! That's one heck of a chicken coop and some good help too!
You got that right!
It's amazing how useful the instructions can be..
I'm out of aviation industry where you always read print notes and revisions before assembly begins..
Note: Pilot holes first, then step up to full size...haha
Just a suggestion, but I would do a wrap of gorilla tape around every joint... both to strengthen and as moisture control inside the pipes.
Otherwise the only thing holding those connections together are those spring-loaded buttons.
You know chickens won't be digging out, but predators might have motivation to dig in... some chicken wire on the ground staked down or buried might save some future worry.
Y[u can buy used billboard tarps that could serve well as rain catchment and chicken roof...I think I can get you a discount on b
I just LOVE how y’all always are there to help each other!!👍🏼❤️ Thanks so much Jayme and Kevin!!❤️
Always!
Great job putting that together guys😊 chickens are gonna be great to have😊Dreamers landing is coming to gether very beautifully😊
Fingers crossed!
Hi Jamie and Kevin
You have some good friends helping you. Thankyou Jamie and Kevin.. good people.
You should find a mulcher to mulch all of your sticks for your chicken coop and dog pens . Just a thought being you have a endless supply .
Thanks to Pops for the coup and thanks Jayme and Kevin for putting it together. And special thanks to Anthony and Roxane for gifting you the chicks. That's a big coup!
Good work team❣️❣️. Getting the house ready for the chicks!!
Jamie & Kevin have such kind hearts .I so appreciate them for helping you guys. 👍You have been pulled in so many directions lately,Your workload has been tremendous... Breathe & take time to chill Dreamers 💜🦋🌻🌹
Indeed! 💚💜💚
Jamie and Kevin you are such a blessing to all of those around you. ❤️ You are the true definition of friendship. Love your channel also.❤❤❤
Fabulous chicken run!!! ❤️🐔 🐓🐓❤️🙏🙏🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Nice chicken coop. You should get a spool of wire from Home Depot or Lowe's or whoever your local hardware supplier, and weave then two parts of chicken wire closed. That way, a predator cannot slip though the gaps in your wire to harm your birds. Better to be safe than sorry.
Kevin and Jamie are wonderful friends. We all should be so lucky to have them as neighbors. I love the chicken coop. Popz is the best!!
It looks great. I wouldn't cut that off yet just leave it then if you need a piece cut it then. That way you don't have to worry about storing it and losing it. Just keep some ties on hand to retie it. Thanks to Jamie and Kevin for helping them.
Thanks for the tip ❤️
Great job
Awesome Framily. I enjoy watching all of you. I must tell you we have sort of the samething here. My son has a company. It is named 4 Shore Construction. A community lady had a stroke. She was ready to come home. But she needed a ramp for the wheelchair built. My son bought all the materials and sent his brother and 2 other employees and they got it done. There are more stories I can tell about him. He has almost and piece of heavy equipment. The biggest crane in our county. Both my sons makes me proud. Sorry it was long winded. But I have wanted to tell share this. ❤❤
Cool.
💜💜💜
Thank you so much for helping DD5. You are true and kind people of the framily.❤❤❤❤
They're AMAZING 👏 🤩
That's quite the chicken run.
ORourkes thanks for helping them get their chicken pen up. Do you plan to put a tarp over part of the top to give them cover from the rain and snow?
Looks like no worklife Tim is passing the tourch off to no work drifter down😊😊 luv y'all videos and lives 👍 🙋♂️
FYI. These pens are not predator proof. I bought the same exact one. A fox rip the zip ties off and tore a whole in this flimsy netting! Killed almost every one of my replacement hens (12 out of 15). I would suggest buying some heavy duty chicken wire and wrapping the bottom and use wire to attach it. That’s what I did to reinforce mine.
Great idea
I had the same problem. Wire mesh is what’s needed. Chicken wire is still not so well, depending on how wild you’re living.
I'd also add heavy duty mesh wire to the bottom too, or at the very least dig down and bury the mesh wire 2+feet to stop predators digging into the run. You won't believe what possums and raccoons can chew through 🙈 so the more heavy duty, the better for longevity for sure.
K&S get out on youtube use the same run for their Guineas, they also have a chicken house on sponsorship I believe, similar if not the same as SLRs. Their biggest gripe is the height of it. The suggestion was to build a wooden frame All round or cinder blocks etc about 2 feet to lift the overall height so no ducking is required when being in there, to clean it out or feed or catch the chickens. Much better for backs :). They also found "stall dry" super helpful for keeping down the odour and wet areas to a minimum. They said there was a huge improvement using them 😊. Good luck with your new animals on the landing. 😊😊
Kevin and Jayme are two of my favorite people. I have so much fun watching them and teasing Jayme for working Kevin too hard. She said she did let him eat the other day 😂😂😂
Wonderful! Just a tad of advice. I'd put a run around it with hardwire. Poultry wire only keeps chickens in. It doesn't do much keeping predators out. Flange wire out from the sides to deter diggers. The metal clasps I think they used are called J-Clips. Those work great.
Mike & Alyssa just think in a couple of yrs if you change the chicken house to a different area you plant a garden where it is now and the food will grow amazing because of all the chicken manure
Kevan and Jamie are the best!!
Thanks Jamie & Kevin helping them w the chickens coup. I think you need to put fence on the bottom so predators can't get inside. The baby chick's will need a smaller area to grow in before letting them out. ❤
Mike, what Ant & Rox used was "Hog Rings" installed with Hog Ring Pliers! The additional fencing that you fold into an "L" shape and run around the outside bottom gets staked to the ground and then the 2 layers of fencing get "Hog Ringed" together. This helps keep snakes and rodents out. Piling small stones along the outside bottom, keeps rodents, foxes, etc, from burrowing into the coop!
Don't know if I just missed it or what? There is going to be a chicken house inside, right? ❤❤
Yes, we will eventually get a chicken 🐔 house 🏠
That is a really nice chicken coop. Hello to Kevin an Jamie. ❤😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
💜💚💜
Nice pen ,now you can get to work on the coop. Maybe you can get one of those pop up brooders with a heating plate for the chicks.
It’s awesome you guy’s have framily who will put their lives on hold to help when you need it 💕 Wednesday is adorable 🤩
Fun to do with a group! I built that same size and style for my chickens, by myself (61 yo) and my chickens bit off all the plastic zip ties, so consider replacing with the metal ones. I also wrapped mine in hardware cloth (bigger predators in AZ) and built a coop inside the run, with an automatic door, to keep them safe at night. At least add roost branches if you have skunks. Was a $ step at a time, tho. Eventually, I want to set it on blocks. Tarp on top keeps them out of the sun and the rain, too. Built a second one for cat and small dog to have fun alone, outside. 😂Can’t wait to see your happy chickens in there. There’s also that thin fencing wire you can wrap/use to tie everything down. Enjoy!
THANK YOU, Jayme and Kevin, @O'Rourkes Littlefield!!!😊🎉❤ You rock 🪨 🎸 💪 😎
Awesome job on the chicken coop! It’s wicked nice! Love to you all!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you to Jamie & Kevin, for HELPING the DD5. God bless u.
Hey good morning Mike how you doing looks like you're doing a good job keep up the good work Mike don't forget to call don't count your chickens before they hatch have a good day
Thanks 👍
Don't forget predators can dig into the coop.
That is a great chicken coop and so big! Very nice! 🎉
Thank you 🤗
It's amazing
Thank You Jamie and Kevin!! ❤️🦋✨️
Thank you Jayme and Kevin for helping Mike and Lyssa out with their chicken run. That was so nice of you.
Looks great!!! If you need help naming it, I like “The Fuzzy Butt Hut !!! “
That's cute! 😂
Now that's a nice chicken run. They will be safe from the ground and sky.🎉
Nice coop y'all 👍 ❤😊
if you could get local tree company to dump their wood chips and put them in run chickens would get bugs and ither things and next year it would be great garden soil......add in any grass clippings leave ect..chicken love digging that stuff
Shale won't keep predators out. You will need to bury wire all the way around the bottom. Probably help keep your dogs in their pens also. Just a thought.. Good job, it's looking good
Thank you Kevin and Jamie for putting the Chicken run togather for DDS
Love when the fam comes to help. Wish I had people like that around here. Love how easy that pen goes together. Just a thought, you might want to put some horse panels around the bottom half to keep predators from getting in. Even some welded wire but my dog just chewed though the welded wire I had on my fence. Can't believe she did that. I bought 6 piece of horse panels that are 50 inch by 16ft. They have 8ft but would cost a lot more to by 12 pieces of that. Got it at Tractor Supply.
That thing is HUGE 👍... Thank you Jamie and Kevin for helping ❤️.. Great job y'all 💪
It really is! 💜💚
❤❤ Thanks to Jamie and Kevin for helping DD5. ❤❤ XX
I purchased a chicken pen like this and I left a foot of wire hang over at the bottom. I then put dirt on the wire to keep critters from digging into the pen . it worked great haven't lost a bird yet! Knock on wood!!
That's a great idea!
Wow.
That looks huge but it's gonna be nice
That was a massive effort. Congratulations to you all. Looking forward to seeing the chickens in there. 🇦🇺❤
That’s fantastic!
❤❤❤
Jayme, I used to twirl a baton too😊 so fun😊
Me too, in my majorette days! Don't think my fingers could do it now. Those were the daze! Ha!
That's a super nice size - I bet David will be jealous that you have a chicken house that you can stand fully upright in 🤣 Great job O'Roukes and Lyssa 🙌 Hope you're resting and recovering well Mike 🤗
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Loved the video. Great chicken run. I’m using this video as a tutorial. I bought the same run on Amazon 2 months ago. The box was so huge, it intimidated me. It’s still in the box. 😂. It looks simple enough for me and my son to put together. Thanks for the video. I want to use it for an enclosed garden. I have a real problem with ground hogs, opossum, raccoon, deer and feral cats. The cats just lay on plants and make a litter box of the garden. I love my ferals though. They just need to stay out. Hardware cloth underneath to prevent digging under.
Nice!
Suggestion: bread ties or garbage bag ties for the connection of fences pieces.
Please consider shade cloth for the summmer to shade the chick, they can suffer from sun stroke as well as any other being.. nice chicken pen!
More to come!
Hey the chicken coop looks great. Great gift Popz.
Mine just came in 10'x 20' it looks just like that but i put shade cloth over top. And i am putting hardware cloth around the sides and door panel. I should have saved money and used chicken wire instead.
Using mine as a shade houes for starter seedlings. To protect from deer!
Great for future rabbits and pups, chickens
Nice work!
I love this for my birds, very easy to put together
Myself n my daughter put together and we are both disabled
Y’all are doing an awesome job
Get rost, tarp on chiken hut side and egg boxes and you are ready. I would have put chiken wire on the bottom. Shel sound good for around the sides.
Mike why don't you put the camera on the tripod and help them with the bottom assembly, since you can't use your bad shoulder to reach. Such a nice coop! Bless all of you❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mike go to Grandpa Doss Farm and look at his chicken setup. It’ll give you some ideas if you decide to enlarge later. 😊
Sounds good
The Kraemer Life has this type of coops too. They put them up a year ago or so. You may want to look at their videos to get some tips.
Mike the one with three holes go on the outside one
Mike & Lyssa you will need a roof over the little chicks or they'll drown the first time it rains.
Maybe I am missing something that you're planning for them because they don't have sence to get outta the rain.
El que siembra buena semilla, recibe una cochecha buena y abundante.
Use fishing line and join the seams.
Hello Mike lyssa Kevin an Jamie
Hello 👋 Liam!
I’d wrap bury some hard wear cloth around the bottom to keep out predators
Just love y’all
Just a heads up. Your chickens will dig holes. :) They love dirt baths, so keep the dirt and maybe put the shale around the frame. You guys are doing awesome and it was wonderful to get some help.
Thanks for the tip!
Mike at Tractor Supply you can purchase the DeWalt Pig Clip Gun and clips for around $30. I used them on my chicken coop and they were super easy to use. The gun holds the clips in strips, so it's like stapling everything together. Hard to believe you couldn't find a pair of scissors for poor Kevin.....lol
Great progress well done all .......i would say ask Anthony to come out and give you some advise on what you still need to do the reinforcement of the wire and a hen house as you are still new to this you can only ask for info on the how and what to do to make it safe for the chickens Goodluck and God bless
With the holes under the chicken run to make it smooth, use sand or wood chips and sawdust not shale. The rocks will be uneven and tough on the chickens feet. Also the chickens will dust bathe in the sand you can add a little woood ashes and that will keep the chickens bug/ lice free.
Wow! Cool, had no idea about that
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi guys
😀😀😀😀😀
I have two of these runs. They work great with a little improvement. We have gone back and used wire to hold the chicken wire on and hardware cloth around the bottom. We have had two attacks and lost chickens prior to these modifications. Have not lost a chicken since improvements were made. Good luck.
Thanks for sharing
Good morning from Illinios😃
Morning!
37:03 I’d use the zip ties because I love zip ties lol
