Winter has hit... And hit the battery on the wife A3 cabriolet hard.. Today a quick video on how to change it before you end up pushing it :)

Thanks, very handy, good straight forward explanation, I've got to change the battery on an A3 shortly and you've saved me time by showing where the battery clamp is and how those silly plastic covers are removed. Why do car manufacturers love plastic so much? Rhetorical question! Thanks again
Glad my ramblings are useful to you ...I like to keep it simple and agree the car manufactures should do the same, but as we all know they are getting more and more complicated for home DIY people like us... Good thing is its not a BMW, you have to program new battery's on them ...

I have a 2015 Audi A3 Quattro here in Arizona and your video was very helpful to help me fix the issue with the warning lights on the dashboard after replacing the car battery and making a change from the original EFB Audi brand to a AGM Interstate brand battery. Both batteries made in Germany. Drove the car for few minutes and the “weird” lights went away. Looks like the car battery power management system doesn’t need any programming. Thank you so much for uploading this video. This was very helpful information.

It's a bit more tricky if you have an A3 8P with a 3.2, the battery isn't under the bonnet it's under the boot.
I would have thought it would be easier, but live and learn... Often though about taking the rear box out of mine and doing something crazy with the exhaust. But never committed to it

No start / stop on this one ...but I believe as long as you pick a battery designed for the sytem, All is good. 😉
Whats that key u using to remove bottom screw? Today i removed + and -, (I struggled with - aswell) but im stuck since i dont have anything to remove bottom screw
They are a bit of a faff it has to be said.. perseverance and skimmed knuckles is the key I would say

I have no idea to be honest, the car doesn't have start / stop.
Most likely a cause. My car has been giving me start stop system malfunction notices last 2 months and hasn’t been working for a while, just replaced the battery for another reason and the start stop system began to work
Which make battery would you recommend? I have an Audi A3 1.6tdi start stop.

To be honest something mid range price, they "to me" or all much the same , but keep away from the dirt cheap ones.

To be honest I Use GSF for most of my car parts including this.. simply go to gsfcarparts.com and put your reg in , there are loads to choose from at a heavy discount. I think the A3 one was a YUASA 5000 SERIES (www.gsfcarparts.com/971na0270)
