For anybody going through this: Boil enough water to fill half a coffee mug and mix in 1/2 tablespoons of salt. Once its warm to the touch (not hot), gargle the water little by little till its done. Make sure to spit out after gargling it, don’t swallow it. The salt will make your mouth a hostile environment for bacteria. It also helps with swelling and it promotes healing. Do this twice a day and you’ll be swallowing without pain in no time. Stay away from milk and yogurts while you’re sick with this.

I got this when I was like 4 and have vivid memories of it my tonsils ended up getting removed but it was pretty chill I just remember being sick it playing with my inflamed tonsils when I got bored probably made it more inflamed it hurt alot when I did that but I still did it 🤷 but overall it was fun surgery experience and I got a Panda Teddy bear which I still have to this day🥳 also I had phnomia when I was in fifth grade but that was fun cuz I got to watch movies while in the hospital

As a long time sufferer of Bacterial Tonsillitis, thank you for this video. The last time I fell ill I couldn’t get an appointment with my GP so had to see a visiting locum, (small country town in NSW, Australia) she prescribed me steroids to take for a couple of days first and a script for antibiotics with instructions to not fill the AB script unless I 100% need it. She explained that steroids are the first line of defence now. My tonsils were the worst they had ever been after the steroids, so obviously I needed the AB. I was talking to my Osteo about it and she explained that it is a way they can now see whether it is viral or bacterial. I was meant to get the buggers taken out in 2009 but unfortunately other illness and many, many operations have since entered the room and it is on the list of to-do’s.
GUYS GOOD NEWS! like 3 months ago just out of the blue one of my tonsils grew, got enlarged - nothing extreme but enough for frustrating tonsil stones to appear. Doctor said its normal and that I probably overcame some illness. I watched a lot of videos, read a lot too, discovered that some peaople have it for a week and some for a few months, also found gargling with salt water (every hour possible). Basically my only problem was that terrible stones even when they were so tiny, I was feeling so uncomfortable... But right now, during the 3rd month that tonsil started to shrink so much, that stones have no place to form at. SO gargle with salt water and wait, dont urge it to get it surgically removed. GL

It felt like an eternity. 😭😭😭 I started my antibiotics which lasted 7 days but still it didn’t go away. so I went back to the doctor and got another antibiotic prescription which lasted another 7+ days. I was so happy when the white spots started disappearing 😭. Of course I took some vitamin c tablets, some pain reliever medication and antibiotic mouthwash together with my antibiotic prescription. It’ll take a while, but it’ll go away
Excellent overview! I’ve had tonsillitis a few times and I suspect I have it again. I wanted to understand more about the differences between viral and bacterial as I have had both. Antibiotics are the last line of defense and if it’s viral, there’s no need. I’ll admit it’s nice when it’s bacterial because you can TREAT the infection. I hope someday antivirals are able to help in the same way antibiotics have.
I see, so I have a mild case of the viral tonsillitis. My throat is sore, yet I have these annoying swollen nodes on the left side of the back of my throat. It feels like I have food stuck in my throat. As a vocalist, this is seriously annoying to have. It’s been improving with regular warm salt water gurgling and hot tea with lemon and honey. I’ve also been doing lymphatic drainage massages in my face and neck, which has helped tremendously.

My cancer was hpv 16 positive and looking back my first symptoms were deep ear pain and burning and a tonsil that felt like it was burnt by food that was too hot. No dud with a degrees would look into it deep enough and call me crazy about the horrible ear pain then 4 years later I had stage 4 cancer!

The smell was super foul and I was throwing up pus and blood. I was on morphine and penicillin for a month. So now I’ve learned to immediately gargle with warm water and salt. I'm having tonsillitis for like more then 15 years. They appear when I was little kid. Dr. had suggested surgical removal but due to young age he prohibited that. After that, yearly at least in winter season I'm having tonsillitis. But I manage them very effectively for this long. I avoid daily fastfoods, soft drinks, ice creams on daily basis and only eat them during some occasion. Keep mouth clean. But if I got them I know the system so before they get serious I maintain my lifestyle again. Mostly warm water, no fried, oily, or cold stuff. And of course pain killer and tabs for fever control until they are gone. But few days ago they appear again but this time infection was acute and too painful, it was become harder to breathe! Here I mistakenly smoked for few days and this become nightmare for me. So please if you have this infection keep good lifestyle, free from oily, fried, and cold food and beverages. I'm not saying completely stop but do not use them regularly or at least when infection is likely to develop.

Currently experiencing tonsillitis for more than 5 days. Firstly it was swollen on the left side of the lymph nodes and now it has shifted towards the right lymph nodes. Well there is a white pus visible in the infected tonsils. Hopefully the antibiotcs provided will work.

Gargle with salt water 💦 I did this immediately when I saw tonsil stone in my throat. I did not know I had it from a long time but I found out at night (1:00am) yesterday. And after half an hour (1:30 am) at night it came out of my mouth ! You need to roar like a lion while gargling ! It will come out easily. Don't try to remove it with fingers or ear bud or anything. Its hurts the most the first time you get it, after that, it wont hurt nearly as much and you can eat and drink stuff

Watching this while got tonsillitis am on antibiotics for it have never felt so ill before don't have the energy to get out of bed my tonsils are bright yellow not the normal pink color this is worse then when I had a uti amd a kidney infection 6 weeks ago could cry from the pain of my ear my throat and have a throat headache that won't go away

Good day doc, Im suffering from tonsilitis in 3 days row now, my dr. Gave me traxone 2gm IV for 5 days and metronidazole oral for 7 days, still have high fever above 39c..
Gargle with salt water 💦
I did this immediately when I saw tonsil stone in my throat.
I did not know I had it from a long time but I found out at night (1:00am) yesterday.
And after half an hour (1:30 am) at night it came out of my mouth !
You need to roar like a lion while gargling ! It will come out easily.
Don't try to remove it with fingers or ear bud or anything. Just salt water gargle.

my tonsillitis is wearing off (3rd day) and we still need my strep results back from a lab. Is it normal to have it wear off after 3 days.? It was extremely painful yesterday and now it only pinches. I can eat perfectly fine.

@@priscilla-js4ue yes it may come and go what I found works for me is making sure one I’m eating a healthy diet etc more fruits and veggies also add in some probiotics foods in there and also making sure I’m doing warm salt water gargles maybe once or twice a week

when ever I had cold products or sweets ,next day onwards I face severe throat pain and infection this also cause due to viral infection?

Find a more specific antibiotic that treats things like strep throat
oh yes,very painful,Could not even hardly swallow nothing much let alone trying to eat or drink any thing was "painful" dont even hardly ever get Tonsillitis,Let alone seizure's,Glad im eating and drinking much better now,Been at least 3 days later,Still little bit sore in my throat,Most of the swelling has gone down

Went to the hospital they gave me antibiotics I asked for my partonsilear abscess to be drained they didn’t I’m definitely going to a throat doctor after everything heals and removing my tonsils to stop this from happening again, worst pain ever
