I've been an apprentice for four years now and it has been tough. I've only just started to tattoo and building my own clientele and to be honest I couldn't be happier. I've wanted to tattoo since I was 13 years old and now 10 years later I've finally achieved my goal! I totally agree with everything that Anrijs says in this video. It's tough but anyone can get there if you just put your mind to it :) x
They most likely used her to clean & not get paid. It can take that long but it all depends on how much effort you put on it too. So four years is way too long to tattoo. You should’ve already tattooed after 1 maybe 11/2 years at least
what really upsets me is how many artists say their portfolio was crap when they got their apprenticeship but nowadays you have to be soo good because quality has gone up. Artists have told me my portfolio is better then what their was and its so frustrating! You just have to keep trying and improve your quality of work
i have been an apprentice tattooer for about 4 months now and i also do some reception which includes cleaning/checking inventory/ making appointments/take phone calls etc... although i also tattoo! i wouldn't be able to live on the just the tattoo revenue which is less than 10 to 20 $ per tattoo and i do about two to three per day but mixed with the 40 hour pay from reception i can do what i love and my side job is already at my place of work! Go for your dreams no matter what it is, if you have passion for the art you will see progression if you step out of your comfort zone once and a while :)
such a good video, I watched this about a year ago, a few months before getting the apprenticeship I'm currently in. My main hangup was that I didn't have many tattoos, and that I was really nervous to have my drawings evaluated. The way I approached shops was to just ask them if they weren't busy if they had the time to look through my drawings and sketchbooks to get some direction, and I was always treated with respect. I think the only reason that I got in was due to the fact that my sketchbook was mostly drawings from life. I have always felt that if I can learn to capture the likeness of the world around me, that I would get better at drawing from my imagination. Being an apprentice is difficult, but I'm learning a lot, and I see a huge improvement in the quality of my work. Thanks for this video
The problem is that young people just want to go straight and tattoo. The draw part is the backbone of tattoo, i still draw when I have time, and also study from books and you tube is also very useful. Practice and discipline is the big detour to the people think that tattoo is easy cake
Daniel VatoTattoo exactly! I've been wanting to be a tattoo artist for years and I've been drawing since I was a kid. Im seventeen right now and still have a couple of years before I leave home but I'm not quite to the point where I'd feel confident approaching a tattoo artist with a portfolio so I am constantly practicing all kinds of things and pushing the boundaries of what I am skilled in drawing.
Daniel VatoTattoo ummm actually tattooing is quite easy to pick up the (BASICS) if your already a good artist. It also helps if you have a light hand. It only took me about 2 days if that to get my line work damn near perfect . Now I can pull a straight line damn near 98% of the time after only two days of practicing it . Shading was easier for me to pick up . I ride the tube on everything except line work and the same way and confidence I have on paper I just carry it over to skin . I get lost in the moment most times and forget that I'm even working on skin and still think I'm coloring and drawing on paper . That's when my tattoos come out the best!!!🎨🎨🎨🎨😃😃😃😃😃
@SterlingJoseph: I'm 17, and I've been drawing on my arms with various greyscale tones of india ink brush pens, sometimes taking hours on a single arm sheath. In public, I've been treated as though I have tattoos (when I washed one off in a public restroom, a lady nearby was shocked when she saw the 'tattoo' flow down the drain) and family members and friends both online and locally have told me that I should be a tattoo artist. However, I'm still not old enough (in PA) and I'm not sure how well drawing with brush pens is like tattooing- I assume they're completely different, but would my experience with shading, inking and highlighting my arms and legs with pen make tattooing easier for me? Note: I am not doing it for money, I'm doing it because I enjoy doing so. I've even given curious friends in the past some arm drawings of their own.
This was incredibly helpful! It's always a bit difficult to get advice from really respected tattoo artists, because they're usually way too busy :) thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
I'm a tattoo apprentice and this just gave me motivation to work my butt off tomorrow and the next and the next until I get where I want to be. This was motivational and it makes me feel lucky to have found an apprenticeship . Everything is perfect timing even if it's stressful
How do I know if my art is good enough? I’ve been drawing since I was a toddler and I can do several different styles. I have had my art featured in many galleries as well. But I am 19 and have no tattoos...
I personally think it will never be good enough.. there will be always place for improvement , even after 30 years of learning / drawing / tattooing / painting etc... there will be still so much to learn.. but to get apprenticeship I guess it will depend on studio and there requirements.
Just believe in yourself, especially if your own artworks got featured that is honestly big! Keep on going and dont settle down. You will find your way just get out there!
I’ve been actively drawing since I was a kid and I’m 23 now, tattooing isn’t easy by no means, but having an artist background does make the journey a lot easier. You can ever draw enough tho, ever.
very helpful and nice to see a more positive outlook from a tattooist instead of the a lot more negative attitudes i see out there that i feel tend to put people off this is motivational and super informative ^^ right now im trying to improve my skills in art while doing an adult course to help with my confidence in drawing and maybe even open new artistic pathways to me along the way like you said being and artist and having the skills can take you in many different directions good luck to all fellow artists out there and those who are also looking for tattoo apprenticeships
Thank you for the advice! I am 23 and have been working fast food but I really want to be a Tattoo Artist. I love to draw and help others feel more confident. Your videos are very inspiring and I hope to see more of them. :)
Been apprentice just under 2 months, but i was doing work experience in the shop for 5 months before hand, that stuff really helped me get it, getting to know the artist and getting tattoo's from the artist you want to take you on, also big help
My sophomore teacher's hisband want me to draw for his tattoo shop because I was one of the best artist in the school I told him I'll think about it but then I start doing drugs then that is it I was done. Regret it so bad.
started bringing my portfolio to artists last week, i've found that recently a lot of better artists are by appointment only and i have to email/dm them on instagram just to set up a time to chat. i know your video says not to contact them on the internet but it's almost impossible recently. i know your video is a few years old now but that is just a huge difference i've noticed
yeah. it was back then too , that most of the ''better'' online artists would be booking only. I do think most of those artists will not have time to individually take on apprentices, if they will be looking for someone they will post about it online.. (but I could be wrong) In this video I'm speaking about more realistic ways to get apprenticeships. There's hundreds of high street studios, with very low social media following, or without any social media, still with lot of good artists and in my opinion that would be more realistic to get apprenticeship there. as they will have receptionist / helper place / and ussualy there will be many artists, so Studio apprentice is something lots of street shops will want. Possibly they already have someone and not looking at the moment. but possibly their apprentice is already ready to start tattoo in few weeks and they are looking for new one to start. Good Luck with it! Let me know when you get one and how you got it ! will be great to hear !
My name is ally, I’m a 14 year old girl and I’ve always have had a fascination with body art and piercings and all that stuff. I love art and I have been drawing all my life, I have given myself some stick and poke tattoos and even one of my friends. I hope I can make this a reality. It’s been a dream, and I know it’s gonna be a lot of hard work but it’s worth it.
Thank you for your videos Anrijs, especially this one. For someone who is aspiring to become a tattoo artist, your videos are really inspiring and insightful! We need more mentors like you :)
Thank you for taking the time to make this video! It's so difficult to try and get advice about breaking into the world of tattooing, it's been really helpful to watch this!
I really enjoyed hearing your point of view about this! I look forward to more of your videos about this subject! I also really appreciate your work. Black and grey is not easy in my opinion.
I was watching this video and my ears perked up as soon as you said Bold As Brass I got my first tattoo from Rachel when she was guesting at Tooth and Talon in Manchester. I had no idea when I clicked on the video you were from the same studio, such a small world we live in especially now we are all online.
You never stop learning in the tattoo industry always something new and you get the guys that get to a certain level and they think that they don’t need to lean they now it all but you never stop learning this guy is proof look at his video about his 10 years and we’re he started and you will not believe from what he did at first to what he does now and he is still learning he pushes the envelope he don’t stop that will make him best in the world keep an open mind
Great video as always... Amen on what you said. Another thing to consider what I have heard from many tattoo and body art artists on how to get in to tattooing, piercing or whatever is to be a good customer, to be friend of a shop and once they now that you are reliable, dedicated and have required attitude and hopefully skill set, you definitely have chance.
Thank you so much for this video! I had an apprenticeship a while back as the tattooist who took me on actually messaged me after seeing my work on Facebook and offered me the place, but I had to quit as the shop was just so far away that after a while I couldn't afford to pay £10 on train fare everyday and she wouldn't allow me to get a part time job to support my apprenticeship which sucked. Currently trying to get myself back into one somewhere closer so this has helped! Looking forward to portfolio video! Lowri
I know this is an older video but I want to share this: I'm an art student right now. Due to COVID19 I am unable to finish my degree this year like planned, so I wanted to shift my focus to my career and this video... it helped with some of my fears. None of my teachers could help direct me through this process so I am eternally grateful for this video so that I know what I need to do for my next steps. I can't wait!
Thankyou for the good words ! awesome to hear it helped. and YES, I know that mostly teachers at schools are really good to teach basics of the subject from the books. Not real life issues or situations. That's why always honest videos made from people working in the businesses can be really helpful. no matter what the topic is! Good Luck with your journey !
Very well said...i see many tattoo artists go straight into tattooing b4 even being decent artists. Some do it for money some because they think it's not that esential. Drawing properly is essential in the tattoo world.
Hi, i'am tattoo apprentice in south of France. I have 36 years Old :) i have to draw during 13 years before start my apprentice. But when we love draws and tattoo, time is not a probleme, just Art is important...just draw, just work and start with a first studio ! :)
Thank man for the tips ! I work on my portfolio since I left my art school and it's really helpful to know what you say ! Nice channel and Good work ! thank (y)
Great information, awesome video. Thank you! I'm worried about the whole "work for free" apprentiship/internship model, as it can rip off young people who are desperate. I think that any ethical employer will pay their apprentices for their time (even if it's just a small amount equivalent to cost of a casual cleaner /janitor).
I wouldn't agree on that. If you are worried about it don't do it, get another job. For skilled artist to teach their craft that's the least you could ask to work for them for free, anyone should be thankful for the opportunity and work hard. if you want to get pay you can go and work somewhere else. apprenticeships are not forced on you.
No but they do take advantage some & this one a lot & like he said when it’s desperate some people don’t really have a choice bc they know they’re committed & want it doesn’t mean it’s fair to put them through ignorant unrelated tasks to take advantage not saying all but it does depend of course if it’s actually a respectful exchange & the apprenticeship is professional then of course that’s the least you could ask for is work for free for them but he does have a point
great tips for all that want to apprentice to tattoo. but also remember no artist likes to see copies from draws or tattoos on your portfolio book, so you know just do your stuff and do it with love!!!! :) :)
Actually this is false. I've done original surreal illustrations for my portfolio and tattoo shops have told me that they are not tattoo-able. That I should have more tattoo drawings like more generic tattoo designs. Which is boring and lame.
I don't have the time for an apprenticeship. I got bills to pay and mouths to feed. so I just started tattooing, haven't started making money yet, but my tattoos are coming out pretty good. I was born an artist and have always been pretty good at drawing since I was a little boy. tattooing is definitely not easy though, I hope I can become a great tattoo artist one day. however its discouraging when I hear artists in the industry saying youll have to work for free in an apprenticeship in order to get in the tattoo industry. I have no time to work for free whatsoever. so the only other option for me is to become a great tattoo artist out of my kitchen.
im 17 so young at the moment to even be an apprentice so im drawing build up my portfolio call up a tattoo shop to ask if they will have time to see what i have and give tips and advice and what i should work on than until im ready keep working on drawing and art work on my portfolio and save money for an apprentice and than ill go when im ready and old enough and yea i love tattoos ill have no reason not to get them because they can be amazing artworks tbh
Sorry for the random question... I've watched a lot of videos and read a lot and something I've found common is paying or working for free full time.... Like how do people in apprenticeships pay for thier rent and insurance???
man i ve benn watching ur videos and they are really informative... too bad for my i ve been rejected at 3 shops already actually i can draw and i already spend some good money on tattoo stuff.. .so i think i got to learn this way watching videos..hope u make videos on how to angle the machine tips while tattooing... would really helpfull..
I did 15 drawings this week. I'm hoping I'll get used to it. Before all this I usually only finished 3 or 4 detailed drawings a week. But the tattoo parlor wants bigger drawings with less detail.. at least they said my linework is good..
I love this video. I've been serious about drawing for almost 6 years and am now working on my portfolio before I start to look around. For Christmas I'm getting my first tattoo and plan on getting many more once I'm a legal adult.
What if you don't have money for tattoos? Tattoos are quite expensive. I'm really into tattoos and body modifications in general. I only have 6 piercings and 3 tattoos. I'm way too broke to get more at the moment. My next tattoo I hope to get my entire chest done, or just my hips for the time being.
@@vsaturated I’m glad you stuck with your dream! I just turned 18 and decided I’m going to start tattooing. Did you already order your machine, if so what kind?
I am 30 years old I have always loved drawing... tattooing has always cough my attention but apart having my kids , fear has held me back so many years. Do you think I’m to old to try to get in the industry ?
Hello Anrijs, I'm 18, soon 19 and I live in Portugal. I want to be a tattoo artist, I can draw and really like how my drawings looks, so I'm thinking on taking a tattoo course. I searched and found many tattoo courses here in portugal, and it is 1,000Eur 10 lessons. *I'll work and get the money* But then someone told me that I should better get appprenticeship and if after I try to look for a tattoo shop to "work", the tattoo artists there could laugh at me cuz I take a tattoo course and won't take me seriously....What do you think about tattoo courses? Thank you!
Hey Anrijs, recently found your videos and they've all been pretty insightful, so thanks! I was wondering if there's any specific exercises or free guides/lists online to follow to develop my art fundamentals? I'm a fairly decent artist, but I just need to fix the fundamentals! I would like to clean up my work, and solidify my drawing skills over the next couple of years so I can apply for an apprenticeship.
hey , just - youtube and google for everything. I don't know any specific sites or anything. I have not used things like that, but I think might try to order some DVD's , some drawing and art seminars maybe.
Hi! I thought i would just throw in there - I learnt everything re fundamentals of drawing by going to classes. I find it really helpful to have a person teach me, see what i'm doing and offer advice and corrections on the spot. Usually they will guide you based on your style too which is nice. If there are any drawing classes near where you live, they are sooooo worth investing your time and money in. It's also a really nice environment to learn and meet other artistic people who will end up inspiring you!! Good luck!
Thank you, that's definitely sound advice! I'm currently doing computer art and design at college, I chose this when I knew I wanted to do something arty/graphic based, but didn't have anything specific in mind. So I do get to draw, just not as much as I want to. Recently I've been trying to draw more frequently in my own time with pencil and fine-liners, hopefully I can stick to it and get cleaner over time! The point about the environment is so true, but sadly the people in my current classes only really do the bare minimum of work, so they're not really the most motivating of people haha. None of my friends are artistic either so it does get tricky sometimes to stay on track! Thank you!
Hi, Im wanting to take an apprenticeship in the UK but I know the artist doesnt have to pay me but I still need somewhere to live&food! I wouldnt be able to get a 2nd job (with the hours) or apply for benefits- do you have any advice on how to support myself or how to ask the artist for an apprenticeship wage?
Unfortunately I can't really give you advice on that, you need to figure it out yourself. don't think there's many studios who will pay you to teach you. Best thing I can think of is - maybe try to find any job at all, and work for 1-2 years and save up all money so you can later live for a year with no work. + while you working hard and saving all the $$$ you can learn and practise drawing and art every single day. I'm sure it will work out !
Moonphas3 just to add, somrthing else that might help is selling some of your art on the side. it'll put extra cash on the side for you along with savings.
I subscribe your channel last 2 days ago. And it’s inspiring. Your journey is close to same as mine. Bro you are amazing I just love your work. But there is some query.! I just want to ask which is the best tattoo liner in coil and rotary?? And which is the best ink for make your tattoo brighter and darker?
The best liner will be the one what will be BEST for you. There's 1000's machines out there , Each one of them can be best machine to someone , and each can be worst machine for others. same goes with ink. whenever works for you will be good. I have lot of videos about machines where I explain what I use them for and what I prefer. and about ink too. check them out, hopefully that will give you more insight and help you to make a decision.
I followed your tip and booked an appointment to get a portrait tattooed, I also showed my tattoo artist a design I made that I was going to get on my chest (that was supposed to be the first tattoo I was planning on getting), but I honestly think this is better because it's smaller and probably not as costly. I honestly wished I could ship you my portfolio and get your feedback. :I
I have separate video where I talk more about portfolios . you can always email me if you want me to have a look. but there's not much I will be able to help with that anyway. it's all up to studios and artists where you will go and talk. good luck .
I'm wanting to start an apprenticeship but i have no desire to get a tattoo any time soon (never say never), I don't like how that could potentially disadvantage me
I've been wanting to be a tattoo artist for many years, and I just started working on my portfolio for an actual apprenticeship. when I was 18 years old, I got a machine as a birthday present. I haven't used it that much, since I want to be more educated before I jump out in big things. I have however, done few simple designs on friends and on myself. now, I can't decide if I should include these tattoos in my portfolio, and if I should even mention that I have experience with a machine and such. I heard someone say, that tattooers often prefer that you come in, leaving the previous experience outside the door so they have a chance of teaching you from scratch. I would like to hear your take on this, cus I have no idea what to believe
I personally wouldn't have a problem with it if someone already done few pieces on their friends , but I know most of the artist will. I would recommend not to mention or show any tattoos you tried before, when you are searching for apprenticeship. it can be a real big issue for most studios. After you already get it and you feel people are really cool , then you can tell them sometime. Good Luck !
yes , I think that's really important to use references . otherwise you can't know how to draw anything . I already filmed video about it. Just need to finish editing , and hopefully I will be able to post it sometime soon.
thank you for the video! there is always one problem for me, i tend to get frustrated with every drawing and ill put myself down saying maybe this isn't for me. i can't draw or get something right despite having references. i know practice is key however is there any tips not to critcise my own drawing to the point that i find drawing not enjoyable for me now. THANK YOU
I didn't have any tattoos but I got an apprenticeship. Now I have a couple but I'd like to save the space for some artists as good as you.
Rodrigo Andrés me too
Same :)

started bringing my portfolio to artists last week, i've found that recently a lot of better artists are by appointment only and i have to email/dm them on instagram just to set up a time to chat. i know your video says not to contact them on the internet but it's almost impossible recently. i know your video is a few years old now but that is just a huge difference i've noticed
yeah. it was back then too , that most of the ''better'' online artists would be booking only. I do think most of those artists will not have time to individually take on apprentices, if they will be looking for someone they will post about it online.. (but I could be wrong)
In this video I'm speaking about more realistic ways to get apprenticeships.
Same girl. Same
super inspirational video, man! :)
I am so amazed by your kindness and the energy you put into sharing about your knowledge!
I applaud you taking time to explain this type of work in the extension of drawing/painting.
Thank you for your videos Anrijs, especially this one. For someone who is aspiring to become a tattoo artist, your videos are really inspiring and insightful! We need more mentors like you :)
i dont even wonna be a tattoo artist but this video was super fun to watch! 🐍
Thank you for taking the time to make this video! It's so difficult to try and get advice about breaking into the world of tattooing, it's been really helpful to watch this!
Inspirador video hermano!!! eres uno de mis principales mentores y agradezco por que siempre creas cosas geniales!
I really enjoyed hearing your point of view about this! I look forward to more of your videos about this subject! I also really appreciate your work. Black and grey is not easy in my opinion.
This truly is the best advice i've heard so far on here. Thanks. I need to start drawing.
I was watching this video and my ears perked up as soon as you said Bold As Brass I got my first tattoo from Rachel when she was guesting at Tooth and Talon in Manchester. I had no idea when I clicked on the video you were from the same studio, such a small world we live in especially now we are all online.
That's Awesome :)
Who dislikes this? Thank for the excellent content Anrjis! You're an inspiration
You have really good energy and really good advice. Thank you for your time.
Thank you SO much for this video, Anrijs! I'm so excited for the portfolio presentation video. 💣
Thank you so much for this video. One of the most helpful I’ve seen so far.
Thankyou ! and good luck
thank you so much for this video, i can't wait for the tips about the portfolio!
Been drawing all my life basically. Got that covered. Thanks for the tips.
Hi Anrijs! I think you're a great artist! Love these video :) it's a really cool idea that a tattoo artist starts making videos like these ones
Hi, i'am tattoo apprentice in south of France. I have 36 years Old :) i have to draw during 13 years before start my apprentice. But when we love draws and tattoo, time is not a probleme, just Art is important...just draw, just work and start with a first studio ! :)
Thanks for the awesome tips! :) It's nice to get different opinions from different tattoo artists!
Thank man for the tips ! I work on my portfolio since I left my art school and it's really helpful to know what you say !
Nice channel and Good work ! thank (y)
I have a question that can international students do apprenticeship?
No but they do take advantage some & this one a lot & like he said when it’s desperate some people don’t really have a choice bc they know they’re committed & want it doesn’t mean it’s fair to put them through ignorant unrelated tasks to take advantage not saying all but it does depend of course if it’s actually a respectful exchange & the apprenticeship is professional then of course that’s the least you could ask for is work for free for them but he does have a point
thank you for this vid. I just started drawing last year and it changed my life :)
great tips for all that want to apprentice to tattoo. but also remember no artist likes to see copies from draws or tattoos on your portfolio book, so you know just do your stuff and do it with love!!!!
This is the best apprenticeship tip video out there thank you. I’m going to put the work in. I hope to see you at a convention sometime.
awesome, thankyou ! see you at some conventions !
This video came out at the best time. Currently putting a portfolio together! 😁 Thank you!
I can draw but I think tattooing is slightly different as Ur using a needle not a pencil and there's no rubbing it out if u mess up
im 17 so young at the moment to even be an apprentice so im drawing build up my portfolio call up a tattoo shop to ask if they will have time to see what i have and give tips and advice and what i should work on than until im ready keep working on drawing and art work on my portfolio and save money for an apprentice and than ill go when im ready and old enough and yea i love tattoos ill have no reason not to get them because they can be amazing artworks tbh
Great video bro and u keep it humble, that's good. Really like ur videos man, very helpfull.
thanks Anrijs!
So helpful, thanks to take the time :)

About time someone broke it down

i love your shirt. where did you get it?
Sorry for the random question... I've watched a lot of videos and read a lot and something I've found common is paying or working for free full time.... Like how do people in apprenticeships pay for thier rent and insurance???
I kno ppl dat don't draw or no experience in drawing but can stencil on a pattern n look at da pattern and can tattoo and shade good
man i ve benn watching ur videos and they are really informative... too bad for my i ve been rejected at 3 shops already actually i can draw and i already spend some good money on tattoo stuff.. .so i think i got to learn this way watching videos..hope u make videos on how to angle the machine tips while tattooing... would really helpfull..
Thank you SO MUCH for the information! I really appreciate you making this video 😊
very helpful and inspirational video. thank you!
thanks bro..... appreciate your input...not to many pass on knowledge...
I did 15 drawings this week. I'm hoping I'll get used to it. Before all this I usually only finished 3 or 4 detailed drawings a week. But the tattoo parlor wants bigger drawings with less detail.. at least they said my linework is good..
I've got the art thing down... it was a suggestion from mom, and her tattooist liking a design I did for mom that has me looking into this.
Marie Dillingham are you considering it? Becoming a tattooist?
How to get lisences and other things that are involved in tattoos
Take a shot every time he says tattoo. 😝
I'm a painter, so you suggest making prints of all of my artwork I want to showcase or can it be in a digital portfolio?
I love this video. I've been serious about drawing for almost 6 years and am now working on my portfolio before I start to look around. For Christmas I'm getting my first tattoo and plan on getting many more once I'm a legal adult.
What if you don't have money for tattoos? Tattoos are quite expensive. I'm really into tattoos and body modifications in general. I only have 6 piercings and 3 tattoos. I'm way too broke to get more at the moment. My next tattoo I hope to get my entire chest done, or just my hips for the time being.
*I'm 16 and getting my first tattoo machine! What advice or things I should know :) All advice is appreciated!*
Don't.
@@DebbieBearDropDead why?
@@DebbieBearDropDead I didn't end up getting it but im 19 now and am ordering one now so......
@@vsaturated I’m glad you stuck with your dream! I just turned 18 and decided I’m going to start tattooing. Did you already order your machine, if so what kind?
Very helpful video & very inspiring speech
hello man i've been following your work for a long time i wanted to learn from you how to get a tattoo i got a tattoo but a long time ago
Thank you!
Thank you!
Buy a ton of sketchbooks and fill them with specific subjects. Like a book of roses a book of skulls a book of eagles and so on
Thankyou , this video has helped me a lot
QUESTION:
when applying for an apprenticeship, is it acceptable to include digital art in your portfolio? or is that looked down upon?
yes. I'm sure I mentioned that in this video, but I'm making another portfolio video, it will be up in next few days!
I dont have a lot of tattoos yet but tattooing has always been my dream ..
Do you have to have an apprenticeship before you can open your own shop?
Your videos are sooo helpful !!! Thanks a lot
I have separate video where I talk more about portfolios . you can always email me if you want me to have a look. but there's not much I will be able to help with that anyway. it's all up to studios and artists where you will go and talk.
good luck .
thanks for the video! great advice
Good Luck !
awesome info. much respect
Thanks a lot for you videos. It's really helpful.
When learning how to draw what do you think about using reference images?
even as far as copying them with small tweaks, but never tracing?
yes , I think that's really important to use references . otherwise you can't know how to draw anything . I already filmed video about it. Just need to finish editing , and hopefully I will be able to post it sometime soon.
Anrijs Straume Tattoo thank you, I just stumbled upon you're videos, and I'm certainly glad I did. You've earned my views!
I only draw anime but I can draw any anime pic could that work out
thank you for the video! there is always one problem for me, i tend to get frustrated with every drawing and ill put myself down saying maybe this isn't for me. i can't draw or get something right despite having references. i know practice is key however is there any tips not to critcise my own drawing to the point that i find drawing not enjoyable for me now. THANK YOU
I'm going to an art school and then probably gonna try to start an apprenticeship
really awesome video!!
