This is a great idea for a series! I only starting getting into make up properly a year ago, so these are all totally new to me - fun to see what these brands used to come out with! xx
💋 this was really cool! A fab trip down memory Lane. I’d love to see more of these if you decide to do them.
Love Subculture, unfortunately mine went off on the shimmers so I got rid of it.
I still have Dream St and use it occasionally.
I thought I had never tried too faced eye shadow but then I remembered having the so natural or too natural or something along those lines.
Yes please continue this series
You're making me want those new Oden's Eye palettes so badly!
Please do a series on this!
I loved the color story for Subculture, but the palette I swatched in store wasn't the same as the one I bought. It is the first palette I remember returning. A few years ago I heard that they had 2 batches each separate manufacturers (no idea if that was true or a rumor)
More of these type of videos! 👀👅👀👅
😴
Subculture and Prism are palettes I wish they would relaunch with the Sultry formula. They are color stories I would LOVE to own. I just didn't get into makeup til after they were long gone
I duped out the subculture palette with both colourpop and lethal cosmetics single eyeshadows. Not completely the same, but you are able to get really close and with great formula's! I loved the colourstory of Subculture so much (I cried when I eventually decluttered my last one), but I bought 3 separate one's in the hope they would work. None ever did thoug... The formula sucked so bad! Still gutted over that one!
Chocolate bon bons was my everyday palette for a while when I was working a conservative office job and needed those super neutral looks. I feel like that says a lot about that palette...
Same!
Sometimes neutrals can be fun! I think the palette was cute, definitely could have been condensed though lol as with most toofaced palettes
@@anthony_lovett truth, Pretty sure I decluttered it years ago, but I think there were really only 5 or 6 shades that I actually used in it.
I remember liking though that it had big pans of those lightest shades, as I tended to prime my lids with that at the time... God that was like 10 years ago now...
I loved the Subculture color story, but my eyeshadow skills weren’t good enough for it. I always ended up with muddiness and fallout. I kinda wish I had kept it just to see if I could make it work now.
Subculture and Prism were definitely the start of the “grungy rainbow” trend before it was even a thing.
Too Faced used to be the shit a couple years ago. Probably one of the first brands I thought was so cool. Lol now they just keep having new palettes with the same boring color story in different packaging. Lol
I thought I was so cool for owning the Sweet Peach palette. Lol
I would love for this series to continue! I think I commented a few years ago that I found you when I was looking for tutorials for a KVD palette-I think it was called Devine? I did declutter mine, much better palettes came along! 😽😽😹😹😊❤️
Oh my gosh what a blast to the past. When I first started watching the makeup UA-cam intensely it was like 2013/2014 and I OBSESSED to the point where I literally remember spending SO much money and ended up being really disappointed most of the time because I didn't like warmer tones as much on me, so I would look at a pan and go "Yeah that's a cool tone I need this palette" but then I would use it and it would be too orange-y on me. I mostly watched youtubers with like medium skin tone and could not understand why shades looked completely different on my pale skin, and being a cool-toned neutral lover at the time was such a bust. 😹😻
My first favorite I think was the UD Naked 2! And even then I only used like 1 or 2 shades regularly.
Definitely do a part 2, I really enjoy your thoughts about the palettes. Stunning look 💙💙💙💚💚💚😱😱😱😱😱
Yes to more parts to this series. It's fun to look back on old UA-cam makeup
I still have 95% of these palettes 😂😂😂
I love this video idea. Brings back all the memories! The blue/brown iconic duo chrome still lives in my book! Not gonna lie, if they relaunched the prism palette, I’d pick it up!
I'm the person that still wants that pastel goth palette lol
If you don't declutter your palettes, you won't have any regrets!!! Lol, I'm joking. But it's really hard for me to declutter. I have palettes in my collection that I keep for nostalgia sake, but I'm also a collector at heart. I've slowed down on how many palettes I shop now, but it's my favourite makeup item.
I used to have the BIGGEST collectors mentality so I totally understand!
My first palette was the KVD shade and light which I still have and is still my only truly neutral palette!
My modern Renaissance went bad on me after 2 years! I’m surprised that so many people still have it and it’s working for them.
I still have the Manny MUA palette! I remember wearing it to my college clases and thinking I was so cool. But in reality I had caked on makeup that aged me. 😂
I never had issues with subculture but all the bad reviews made me nervous to use it at first.
I almost decluttered my dream Street, but I’m glad I didn’t because I love neutrals again. I don’t care that it was a collab with Kathleen, but I love it for the color story.
I decluttered yes please because I found it poor quality. I know that’s an unpopular opinion.
I love this idea and hope you keep going with this series. It's crazy how much our personal taste changes with time ❤😍
I’d like to see more of these vids, I would also like to see palettes you wanted to purchase but are glad you never ended up buying!
I used to want one of those laroc palettes so badly and holy shit I’m so glad I never got one
Lmao they used to be EVERYTHING😂😂
I regret decluttering the Colourpop Semi-precious and the Golden State of Mind. I feel like I was so mesmerized by Pat McGrath Blitz and Astral shades that I devalued the Golden State of Mind and Semi Precious would have been perfect for my professional job I had 2 years ago :/
This was really fun. I always regretted that I didn't get the pastel goth. This is a good idea for a series
I still have my makeup geek manny mua palette! And I freaking loved that TF Sugarpop palette. I still have my pastel goth palette. The issue I have with it, is the colors fade so bad. I need to try creepy cute.
Please please please make this a series. I found the video so interesting.
The last Lorac palette could have been easily a nine pan palette instead of a trillion pale shades plus something else😱
I like this video concept! yes please to more!
I don't declutter much but I don't regret any of the things I've decluttered... probably bc I overthink it and keep it around but in a box away from my collection to make sure I'm okay without it for a bit
I still have my Prism palette and love every look I’ve made with it. I feel like it went so under the radar because of subculture, but I was definitely happy with mine
The Naked 3, and Electric palette were my first palettes, ever. I definitely hit a few pans in the Naked 3, and I still have my Electric palette. I used to get all the UD releases. There are so many Indie brands with amazing quality, now, I can't go back.
Yeah I decluttered all my LORAC palettes awhile ago. MAC and Urban Decay were my first colorful makeup brands I was obsessed with. I still have a lot of those palettes like Modern Renaissance and the UD palettes like Electric. I can’t emotionally part with those. 🍩
The naked 3 😄 One of my first palettes and it wasn’t new at all at that point - but I loved it! Recently I let the app „tiny decisions“ choose for me which palette to use & pulled it out again, but the shimmers kind of added a ton of texture to my mature eyes, so I probably should say goodbye to it 😄
(I won‘t leave the emoji as it would seem very rude & inappropriate to leave the poopy one 😂 but I still use the kitty faces - usually relating to cats though 😄)
I just gave away my ABH modern Renaissance a few months ago - no regrets! It went to a great home. I still have the Subculture palette. I love the color story but mine was a mess of a formula! I got a bad one. I still have my Manny MUA x MUG! Love that palette even though neutrals aren’t my thing.
CP yes please - decluttered to a good home. Didn’t like the colors on myself. I still have my UD electric palette! Some shades are starting to lack pigment, but man it is still such a good palette! Every other UD palette that I have owned didn’t work for me 😢 My skin absorbs the shadows! (1, 2, 3, and Smokey). Gave 3 and Smokey away.
I had the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons and Sugar Pop palettes, and the UD Naked 3 too. I regretted buying Sugar Pop because I never used it, and I realized I was only keeping Chocolate Bon Bons around because it smelled good 😂I got frustrated with Naked 3 because I never thought it was as good as everyone made it out to be quality-wise.
I wish I had bought ABH Prism - I liked it but was afraid because everyone said it was the same formula as Subculture (which I never had, but UA-cam brainwashed me to think that it was horrible 😂).
Such a creative idea for a video!!! I did a huge declutter when I got my new vanity!!! Goodbye to many an old drugstore palette!!! Hello to New and refreshing brands!!! Thanks for your imagination, your awesome content and all the inspiration!!! Blessings to you, Betty Jean!! ✌💚🙏😚
I also tried to buy everything and only from Urban Decay!! lol I had the Gwen Stefani, Vice 4, and Naked Basics 2 or something. It's so sad to think about it because I barely got any use out of these and didn't know what I wanted my makeup to be or look like. So I just ended up buying so many products that UA-camrs recommended. Also, I really regret buying almost everything from the drugstore that existed because I couldn't afford high-end brands. But ironically I ended spending way too much on drugstore makeup too
I own Subculture, Modern Renaissance (yes, that ones old, lol) and I had Naked 3, I gave that to my sister, I don't know if she even uses it, lol, it doesn't even show up on me. If they re-released Prism that would be AMAZING!
I saw the part 2 video and was like "wait, how did I miss part 1?!" This video reminded me of all the boring makeup I bought when coming back from my 3 year long makeup break because I felt like I had to. Before discovering the wonderful world of indie!!! How I went from hunting down colorful eyeshadow to the snoozefest that is lorac and too faced, idk, but glad to be back in a world of color!!!
I've never had any of those palettes, but I contemplated to buy Urban Decay Naked Heat at Prague's airport, but it was taped to stay closed in packaging so I couldn't be sure if all the shadows inside are intact, so I skipped it. And I watched fondly looks done with Pirates of Carribean palette by Lorac. I thought it was very adventurous and colorful👍
Emoji I happen to use less and less 👻
I completely agree with you regarding the UD Electric palette. I actually still have it but because I found that it was FANTASTIC for brows! Never great on eyes but you can do a beautiful colored brow with it.
Hello Gorgeous Girl 💖😍💖 I hope you don't mind but yesterday I tagged you in my Instagram post because I recreated your Instagram video using the colourpop statement piece pallette 💚 and wanted to know what you thought!! I just recently bought another yes please pallette because it was my og favorite
This video was great fun, I would love to see more! I still have my MUG x Manny MUA palette. It was my first influencer palette, and at the time the most exciting one I owned. I still go back to it from time to time for something quick and pretty. 💋💋💋
I never miss palettes I declutter haha 💁🏽♀️ I never use this emoji anymore
I love the subculture color story but I never got a chance to pick it up. I definitely would if she puts it back out there and also prism. Definitely love declutter even tho I don’t have the heart to do it.I LOVE that eyeshadow look. Gorgeous you do spoopy makeup so well. I love abh but modern ren was never my vibe either. I miss urban decay I used to just love them, lounge was like my favorite shadow. I feel like their moon dust shades are still good but I remember that lounge shade being amazing it was a multichrome back in the early 2000s. It was brown with a green and purplish shift. Very beautiful and I loved the single packaging they used to have those little tins. I used to love them but it’s been a while since I love urban decay. The other one I have but I simply cannot declutter is the urban decay Alice in wonderland palette. My sister got his for me and it’s precious to me for that reason. I think I will keep it forever plus the packaging is amazing. I need to get creepy cute!!
I was honestly surprised seeing several of the palettes that you decluttered. Seeing your beautiful makeup style nowadays, I would think that with such neutral palettes in the past, you would have been bored silly with them. BTW, I would love to see more declutter commentary videos!!
I declutterd my Lime Crime Venus XL and regret it so much that I bought the dann thing again . After this madness I used the palette maybe a few times in total . Please Start this as a series. 😇
I just recently decluttered my modern Renaissance palette after I had purchased the Give Me Glow Vintage Rose palette. I realized I didn't need it anymore, especially since the VR palette has a similar color story with far more rich mattes and ultra pigmented metallic shades. A lot of these more mainstream brands feel outdated in both their looks and formula now.
I was looking at that Too Faced palette thinking “that looks so familiar”. I still have that sugar pop palettes but I never use it. I’m panning the yes please palette now and I really do like it. I regret ducluttering my electric palette but by the time I did the palette was old. I also decluttered the Gwen Stefani palette.
Such a fun video! I too like to look back at past purchases/decluttered palettes and reminisce about how my tastes have changed/evolved!
All those palettes are from a time waaaay before I got interested in Makeup, and back in the days they would have been all too bold for me 🙈 ohhh how times have changed 💃
Oh wow, Dream St IS like a smaller You're Golden. I have Dream St so I guess I don't need YG!
The shame 😳 I still have so many of the palettes you mentioned in this video despite not having used some of them in years.
I like this series! So fun to see old palettes! I still have my subculture palette but I just cannot get rid of it, I’m attached.
The yes please pallet was the first color pop thing I bought and I think first pallet I ever bought
def want to see more of these videos! I love eyeshadow declutters in general and think this is a great idea and shows how quickly we forget about things we thought we could never get rid of at one time lol. these hearts 💞 was an emoji I used to think was so cute but I never use it anymore for some reason lol, maybe I’ll bring it back 🤣
I have two mega pro palettes by Lorax, their shimmers are very pearly/satiny and the mattes are smooth, I still own em. The 2 was my least favorite, Bc it had a lot of repeat shadows from prior pro palettes
I own a bunch of coastal scent shadows that I can’t throw away bc I feel like I own a special place in time that I just can’t throw away, they perform soooo much better than they swatch
This makes for a fun series.🧐
This was a very fun video. Wouldn't mind if it became a series.
I loved the Prism palette - still have it ❤️ Definitely ahead of its time ✨
I still own YES Please!!!!! I used it the other day and I’m still alive hehe
i loved this video. it was definitely a throwback. i hope you make another one of these. 😜
I decluttered the Colourpop All That palette, but now I wish I kept it. 😎
It was nice to look back at all these old palettes. I hate how most creators used them to make 1 neutral tutorial & never picked them back up again.
Please continue the series! Its very nostalgic to see the older palettes and how far the industry has come!
KVD metal matte palette lol I had it and I could never get any good looks out of it. I wanted the pastel goth palette so bad 🤣
😋 I only had the naked 3 palette. I depotted it last year, but I never use what is left of it.
Loved this and totally keen for more videos like this! 🧐🧐
Modern renaissance started my obsession with eyeshadow palettes.
I loved this video, I still have the prism palette from Abh and still in love with it 💜
I recently pulled out subculture to use and like you it works fine for me. Also have prismn (I own most of the ABH palettes) and I don’t love the shimmers in the palettes I will just pull from my singles typically when I use them
I still have all 4 of the Lorac Mega Pro palettes! Haha. Definitely some nostalgia for my early makeup journey there. 💜
The first eyeshadow palette I ever owned was from Too Faced, it was one of those “Natural” themed ones and my mum bought it for me and I used it to do my and my sister’s makeup for her quinceañera, it should have been decluttered by now but I’m holding on to it for emotional value, it’s no longer being used though. 😝
This was such a fun vide because I really wanted some of those palettes but now looking back, only Subculture is something I would still want (and isn’t it ironic that it’s discontinued?).
Just bought one at TJ Maxx Friday!!
I still use the same emojis that I ever have... idk, I like them.
Yes please continue!!! Loved this so much
urban decay used to be great now , not so much
I loooove your makeup in this video so pretty
I literally decluttered like four of these just today - makes me feel good about my choices
Definitely Continue this!! Oh lorac. I thought that brand was amazing back in the day. Confession: I have over 70 urban decay palettes. I collected them and can’t declutter them yet. 😺😺😺😺
Omgggg you could open a tribute store haha
@@battybean I probably could.
😀 I would love to see more videos like this
I'm old and don't use those emojis 🤣
I love this video idea, so fun! 🧡
Yess continue this series! 🐷🐷🐷
Please do part 2!!! 😛😛😛😛
Very enjoyable concept ! 🤓
Enrelated question : do you recommend more the shimmers from glamlite or from nomad ?
I’ve only ever tried one Glamlite palette so I don’t know if that’s a standard formula or not. I like both! Glamlite is VERY high impact metallic but nomad is super glitzy and wet looking!
🐸
Continue with the series!
🙋🏻♀️🇲🇽💝🌻🌻🌻🌻
Yes, continue this series!!
I can never find that post about abh that you mention all the time by Donny darkowitz
Might be because I can’t spell though 😂
It’s “doni” it was on her ig like a year and a half ago
@@battybean thank you!!! Finally found it!!
🎃 Decorations rock!
Love this video 😜
Loved this video!
