Nice review. I love the YDS150. I find that I enjoy playing this way more than my Yamaha Custom YTS 82Z. Such fun. Best of all I can control the volume which means I can practice anywhere and anytime. What a great century to be alive.
Should I get it?
Excellent presentation. Thank you!
I've ordered one. Then I learn that Yamaha Canada says it can take as long as a year to arrive due to problems. But I still want it. It looks and sounds fantastic.
I was hoping it would only be a couple of months. With the pandemic subsiding maybe things will ramp up.
Really great review
Also, being able to transpose on the fly. You can play any sheet music you want
Very informative review. Thank you.
Great review!
Wonderful review. Hopefully you will have time to reply. I am new to sax, is this a good instrument for beginners. Also does it demand the same breath techniques and does work the neck muscles in the same way as an acoustic sax?
One of the best demoes I've viewed.
I;ve had mine over a year and it is a huge step backwards for Yamaha. Not including a reed sensor was down right stupid. I have had my WX5 for over 20 years and it is much more expressive. The YDS 150 is good for practicing , but not much else. Wish they could come up with a retrofit for a reed sensor. Also, is there a way to use it as a MIDI controller without going through a computer?
I had planned on using it with my MFC10 running into my VL70M or one of my samplers. Impossible as far as I can tell. Almost bought the Roland. Wish I would have now.
Hello.
Please, help 🙏
How to activate upper and lover side keys on YDS?
Thank you
I have one. No voice sounds like an alto. App won't load. Still ok for practice but need lots of time on real sax which neighbor won't allow even 1 hour afternoons. How step by step did you change responsiveness and did you find a voice comparable to alto?
Love this thing. Put on some good headphones and jam in silence.
Hello there, I've bee toying with the idea of buying such an amazing instrument. Just one question: does it allow to plug a headset so the speakers are excluded and, by doing so, muting the instrument so I can play it in my apartment without disturbing my neighbours?
yes!
🎉🎉🎉
how is the built in reverb setting (Fn + G#)?
Hi Erin, What do you think about the sound quality? I have a Yanagisawa Tenor and I would really like a bari as well. But $7000-$8000 American dollars is very pricey for something I will use as an occasional doubler. I have an Aerophone but the key response doesn't feel natural and the sounds aren't the quality I feel they should be. What is your opinion using one as a doubler for bari rather than spend a large sum of money? I could find a decent used bari around $400o but it wouldn't be a Yani. Regards; Tony Dallas DeWitt
It is 800 not 8000
@@almanac520 oops didn't mean to type the extra zeros
@@bluesysaxman yes you did, just buy it no need to add the extra 0 to justify a great purchase hahaaaa
Wonderful review, can you terach me play his saxophone ?thank you
does it make sound when you play with headphones? can I play it at night without disturbing my family?
Yes, can be silent with a very clear sound coming to your headphones
Is it possible to reduce the breath sensitivity to make playing basically effortless? Asking because a long term saxophone player has been told they can no longer play due to glaucoma. The pressure it puts on his eyes is the issue. If the breath sensitivity can be reduced to very low pressure this would make it possible for him to play again.
@@YamahaMusicAu thank you very much!
@@YamahaMusicAu so one can reduce the breath sensitivity to allow to blow harder in order to exercise more?
Cool, How much is that baby?
👍😁💕🎷
I've had mine for two days and I still can't figure it out. The voice keys are confusing.

Hi Erin. I'm assuming there is some build up of saliva. How does one clean this instrument?
@@YamahaMusicAu Thank you for your prompt response. I just received my YDS-150 yesterday and on two separate occasions I heard a constant tone coming from the instrument even though no keys were pressed. I had to turn the power off in order to get the tone to stop. Sadly, I'm considering returning the sax (unless you know of a solution) because I think this is a defect. Do you have any thoughts on this?
@@d.williams7887 mine doesn’t do this, idk
@@almanac520 Thank you, Erin.
@@almanac520 Thank you, Almanac.
sounds shit, but is good to practice when you have to be silent.

It’s pretty good actually. Playing it through a better speak through the AUX port helps too
