Can we take a moment to just admire the GORGEOUS animation in this video? The use of 2d hand-drawn animation coupled with the lively CG and atmospheric painted backgrounds, just MAKES this so gorgeous to look at that from any and every angle. I am just in love with the level of detail and hard work put into this.
This is one of the most beautiful Animated pieces I have ever seen. I was going to comment the same thing. You make a movie in this style you will win awards

@Deutscher Geist you described half of what a d20 does. There is a popular reolleplay system known as d20. It uses a 20 faced dice, an "icosahedron". Your maximum roll can be a "20", wich is considered a critical roll. Its opposed roll is the "natural 1" roll, which is considered a critical failure. The stone that the Raven Lord holds is shaped like a "d20"

Hots devs: Yes. We wanted to expand the lore of the nexus. Thats why we made comics focusing around characters with no actual development or reason to care for them, had terrible and inconsistant writing, and decided to toss our original edgy loli oc into the game to get league of legends players.

Anyone else think it's weird that Blizzard announced two separate characters for two separate games that both have white hair and red eyes? Like seriously, Ashe and Orphea look like they could be sisters... or mother and daughter.

I actually think Orphea is one of the best characters added,I liked the Nexus story until they dropped HotS alltogether.

This is awesome. Having an original hero, HoTS now actually feels like a legitimate universe of its own, just like Overwatch's, WoW's etc. Now it actually feels like the heroes never stop fighting, even in their death (well I know some of them are not dead, but it could way in the future).

He most likely is. IT's like, a person sees *awful, terrible option* as only option to save world from what they consider to be worse. It's like Sargeras or Illidan from warcraft, they become evil to stop greater evil- at a price many would argue is too high. So, then question becomes, how to stop them AND the ultimate evil?

You're not alone. I don't think I've been this excited for a new hero release for a long time. I've been playing the game since CBT, so I think some of my excitement stems from the introduction of a hero that's not from one of the standard Blizzard universes.

See, this is how you do a Nexus hero - with motive, a backstory, character. I was completely invested in Orphea and still am. Qhira? Why should I care about her as a character?

for real? I think the artstyle is way too anime-ish, it totally misses Blizzard artstyle in general. And from the start, what was interesting about HotS was that it was a crossover, not any specific lore to it. I watch this and I really don't care about those characters, specially about that loli

The writing isn’t done well in this it sounds disconnected and choppy and I gives the effect that they aren’t really talking to each other.
The animation is quite good (obviously it’s blizzard) but without good writing there’s no feeling of steaks to it

i mean, they do not have an infinite number if characters, especially not in their smaller universes like Diablo and Starcaft, which are swiftly becoming depleted of familiar faces. Adding another pool of heroes to help them in the long run is reasonable

But what did they expect warcraft is the most developed universe of Blizzard and there dozens of heroes to to be added and people ask for. I personoly can name a few. And for another universies if you read comments on HoTS videos or HoTS related threads there can be found plety of characters people would like to see. The only reason personally I see is that devs tried to appeal to LoL players with this hero model and maybe someone on devs team really wanted to add something like that or thought it would be very createful. They said at the beginning of this year that they wanted to spend 2018 building the lore of the nexus, and they have already released several comics and special events about this throughout the year. This isn't the first we've seen of Orphea.

This cinematic is pretty low quality when comparing it to Heroes' former prime time with Ragnaros and Varian where they made a real cinematic for the game... and two super hyped heroes. Now we got an anime with a no-name hero. Overall this Blizzcon was pretty weak since aside from Warcraft III Reforged every other game seemed to be just so weak as they have never been.
I am SO down for this hero.

Alright, I'm just gonna say why I think it's a "good" thing they are adding in nexus heroes.
I personally think a game like heroes of the storm should also have room/a change to make up own lore and have the ability to expiriment with new stuff that is not in other blizzard games. With this I mean that her abilities are very comparable to old god spells, but to add an old god into the nexus would be a bit too much (I have the same thoughts with deathwing, I think he should be a map objective and not a hero if he ever gets added.)
And if they are planning on adding more nexus heroes or not, they are not going to stop adding heroes from other blizzard games, this will still be something that they'll keep doing just like maps from other games.
I can understand that you think that this game is purely made to let heroes from other games brawl eachother and the game was also made for this. But since this year, they have been doing more stuff for lore behind the nexus itself, and this has made the game more a stand alone game. due to this lore I think that heroes from THIS lore should also be able to be added into the game and also get a change to shine within the nexus.
And even with heroes of the storm having it own lore and adding in heroes from this. It will still be a game were heroes from other games brawl eachother, but now heroes of the storm can have it's own section from their own game that joins the brawl, but still keeping the old heroes and adding in new ones from other games aswell.
This is just my opinion and I personally think this will be the next big step for heroes of the storm.
