My best guess for the censoring of the gambling in the opening cutscene is that they wanted to keep the age rating down in European countries. Sly 2: Band of Thieves was classified PEGI 3 in its original release, but several years back (like 2011/2012) PEGI changed a few things, and now any mentioning of gambling immediately ranks up the game's rating to a PEGI 12, the same reason as to why recent Pokémon games had to remove the Game Corner.

I'm shocked the times for any% and 100% are not too far apart.
Yeah, difference is basically 20 minutes, but used to be much greater. 100% adds a nice amount of diversity and brings a new set of challenges but the difference between 100% and any% isn't _that_ great. 30 bottles times 8 episodes and 8 vaults. Plus we can use some of the gadgets from the vaults to speed up or make the run easier as well.
27:14 As a native English speaker, I got that one wrong in the same way until age fifteen. It just didn't come up often enough for me outside of books.
Currently 1:01:00 into the run. Not looking good for him.
1:30:00 - I’m struggling with trying to figure out how he comes back from these bad times.
2:00:00 - When he bounces back out of the red, I’ll be so happy.
2:30:00 - To think that one enemy could fuck up a whole run...
3:00:00 - He’s coming back now! I’m so excited to see green again.

Maybe I don't remember the game correctly, but I don't recall the voices for the characters fading in on the ps2
They do fade in on ps2 :p It was changed for the remasters and I prefer it fadeless personally

I doubt you’ll see this but amazing job! I’ve wanted to do this for ages have any tips on optimizing my gameplay? From what I saw it’s less glitches more best paths, and best possible moves.
This is an old run with outdated routes and strategies. Still a great starting point but it could be worth checking out more recent runs. speedrun.com/sly2 are the leaderboards and you can also find links to guides, resources and our discord server there! I’m currently on a bit of a break so I’m not super into the scene atm but I’ll return before long and focus on sly 2 again, first time in a few years

Completing Cairo the intended way counts towards the percentage counter. Let's just say I found that out the hard way.. (ua-cam.com/video/0NVskHeyPaI/v-deo.html)
Are there any major speed running strats that differ between IL (any/100%) and full play through (any/100%)?
Not really. Generally more risky gameplay. There's a bunch of small stuff ofc.
Example: In ep 1 I go for the cs skip in disco demolition, saving 2s which I also plan to implement into full-game any%. I do chair strats for Bug Dimitri which is 0.5s faster than the strats I usually do. I might go for 4-tick on Dimitri, damaging him 4 times in one hit, but loses time if you miss it. And ofc I don't waste any time getting coins.

Som regel kan man bare spamme X når man starter en episode for å velge Sly, men ikke i episode 5 (eller 4 for den saks skyld). Jeg glemmer det alltid i episode 5, og dersom man spammer X i ep 5 bruker man pengene på shit power ups (trigger bomb etc.) og spillet autosaver rett etterpå, så man kaster bort alle pengene. Har skjedd 2-3 ganger så jeg satt det i split tittelen. :3

Couldn't you save some time in Boardroom Brawl by buying Fists of Flame? It's an instakill.
Money is tight. Also Boardroom Brawl is time based up until the end. Every 'hack' takes 20s. After Bentley says "This is tense, I can taste it!" after the last hack, you simply have to clear the area to end the job.
