the freedom of expression in Berlin is so normalized and humble, it's so cool to me to see people wear whatever the hell they want without a feeling of societal judgement- doesn't seem like they're doing it to be inherently raucous, crass, or rebellious- just to vibing
Ideals aside, Some places have gotten pretty classist/racist/queernormative about self-expression in the last few years. Renate has gone cashless and their door selection runs the same at costume partys. Other places dress code means local Punks and Queers can't even visit anymore unless they conform. I like berghain and kater blau for the same reason I like raves, because their is no dress code. As a trans person that gets misread all the time, doesn't have money, and has to deal with street abuse, I always have to factor in how I get somewhere. Sometimes changing clothes when im inside. Berlin is less open than it once was, on the street and in a few Clubs too now. But all my friends who have visted still tell me it's worse elsewhere.
@@jesipohl6717 Thats true. Berlin has a strong idea of self expression and sticking out but in certain circles if you dont stick out "strong enough" and come up with the most crazy extravaganza designer shit you'll lowkey looked down up a little. Its a style that screams "fuck the system and its conformities" while creating classist conformities on its own that you'll notice immediately if you're broke. The people in white shirts & suits pants just wear leather jackets and rock an 80s haircut.
Tokyo to Berlin. The vlog vibes have been crazy. Congrats to you and the team on the collab and amazing turn up. We are rooting for you. Love to see you having fun and free with the vlogs. Appreciate you and hype for whats next.
Was in Berlin a months ago and had one of the best times of my life, spent a whole night and morning in Tresor too. Thanks for reminding me of the great memories :) love your videos man
i'm glad he reminded them that techno was invented in detroit, shouts to juan atkins, derrick may & kevin saunderson. those guys were teenagers when they invented the genre. house was also created by black gay men at the warehouse in chicago. this music is our birthright, don't ever forget that.
I was in Tresor a lot times.. but ppl need to understanding that they have similar vibes on ''door'' like Berghain, not that easy to get it. Actress is legend.. but he isn't around Tresor, almost none and rarely do any gigs in Berlin, sadly.
Door vibes at berghain are primarily to preserve Stammgast:innenkultur. Regularls get in first and reliably, everyone else gets lucky or keeps trying or is there for the wrong reason (clubs aren't zoos).
cool. when u visit Detroit checkout techno museum "Exhibit 3000" and Grantston Bullard's fashion design studio 19132 LIVERNOIS AVE DETROIT, MI Techno forever
It needs to be understood that baggy was never a fashion trend. If you grew up in the 90s in Los Angeles like I did, you would know, that it was mostly poor, grimy or unfashionable pot heads that wore baggy clothes, mostly trying to look gangsta to feel cool. The truth is that gang members wore baggy clothes to hide firearms, knives and other weapons...it was never fashionable, and everyone frowned upon it. Even myself, I admit wore baggy clothes in the 90s, and I unconsciously didn't realize that it was to cover up the fact that I was scrawny. Please people, just wear pants that fit you, not too tight, not too loose. Work on your physique, mental and physical strength and you will appear much more attractive. Stop riding the baggy wave...it's so misunderstood and unattractive.
It's refreshing to watch these cool videos from the other side of the planet.
Yea but in Berlin it’s actually not that welcome with filming n stuff haha:)
Not that I am offended by, just my experience, I m from Germany

I can confirm actress was killing it in tresor that night.

Also people wore baggy clothes because they were hand me downs from older family members.
I hope you went into Tresor and danced your ass off
