Lovely sound on the ceramic bodied guitar! This is all so cool. Ken, you are an inspiration, and Gary - thank you for all you've done to produce this video. I plan on experimenting with clay to make a didgeridoo!
I tried making two of these trumpets Ken. Its harder then it looks. The wheel one came out to thick and heavy. I made another on an extruder that make a three inch tube with even thickness and it works pretty good. My students get a kick out of it when I play it for them. The mouth pice it tricky too! Had to go look at a real one from a trumpet in the music room to get the right shape/size. Thanks for the inspiration!
Have you tried making a serpent? They are serious instruments and it looks like you have the skills. In the traditional manner of making them they are very expensive and I bet a ceramic one would sound great.
I’m a totally blind potter, but have only ever done whistling pots. Would love to learn how to make music from Clay like this. Especially love the guitar. Did you make the whole shape out of clay, or just accented parts with pottery?
Absolutely epic work. Truly masterful and artistic.
I met this artist recently in St.Augustine,Fl. Amazing pottery store and such a humble human being! ❤
This made my day. Such a great inspiration Ken Jensen!! I can feel your inner-child.
