In 1979, a new pro wrestling publication hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When the first issue went to press, Ole Anderson & Ivan Koloff were ranked at #5 in the Tag Team Division. Interesting to see Fred Ottman in one of his early roles. This had to be before he went to Memphis as Big Bubba, the Belt Collector.

At this time Ole Anderson, Fred Ward & Jim Barnett were the owners of CWG, Ole was also the booker. This was when he brought in Tblot amd teamed with him as a babyface.
When Jim Crockett bought out Vince he also bought out Jim Barnett and company.
This is during the time that Arn Anderson made his appearance in CWG with Solie talking up how Arn was a old school Anderson who was torturing wrestlers the way Ole used to. This lead up to the Ole Tbolt split.

Sieg wasn't around long. Maybe a month or two.
Funny story: Mr. JR is being interviewed by Gordon and JR says that next week on the show, Siegfried will lift a horse. Well next week comes but no Siegfried. No horse. And the guy was never mentioned again.
Turns out that Sieg tried a practice run at lifting a horse and threw his back out.
    Poor Fred.

Tug boat was a big guy, but even looked larger in those old studio settings. Either Tbolt was copied by Dusty or Dusty was copied by Tbolt lol

+Alice Sutton Dusty copied t-bolt. T-bolt in the south, was extremely over with the black people. Dusty copied his hand jive and some movement.

Seriously. The guy couldn't speak a complete sentence and stuttered for 15-20 seconds. Once mid 1985 came into full gear with JCP, garbage like that JR manager and Tbolt Patterson disappeared. No offense to Ray Candy and Scott Irwin. They were better off independently or other managers. Besides they went to Florida and AWA thereafter.

How did Thunderbolt Patterson & Ole Anderson ever become a tag team given the latter's reputation as a racist?

    • @oldschoolfan420

+Chauntel Bland In the end green is the color that matters to olé. He did what was best for business and at one time, t-bolt was a huge draw. Olé was not a big a racist as some other people.
