Really nice tip. It is really important to set focus point fast and precise without touch screen. This Fz1000 camera is popular even now, in 2021. And I understand that. Fz2000 is not so succesful and they made fz1000 II that's in markets today, but it is only fz1000 with touchscreen and double price (or better) :D
Hi... do you ever have cameras mailed to you and set them up and mail them back as a service?? I am really not tech savvy and my camera came back from service at Panasonic( new lens) and the setting are all gone and i've been clicking around way too much, i can't even use my camera at this point.
I found a trick: If you would like to be at 25mm AND focusing at 100% infinity for star photography, move your zoom at exactly 300mm, then manual focus far left (at the mountains of the red line), and then move all way back to 25mm. You will automatically perfectly focusing infinity ∞ which is between red line and white line.

not sure what you mean by “infinity”
It's work with Manual Video Mode too. In this Mode (M+camcorder) you can change almost every setting during recording :)

Set the camera up to back butn focus and you can do that all the time without all the faff.
