Britain was founded by the Apostles and their companions in the 1st and 2nd centuries in the British Isles, according to the Early Church Fathers, and secular history as well. My #1 reason for not being Eastern Orthodox (besides the fact that I find its online iteration extremely repugnant) is this: The Catholic Church evangelized the entire world, thereby obeying the Great Commission. The Eastern Orthodox didn't.
St John describes "a great throng, which no man could number, from *every* nation, tribe, and tongue." This perfectly describes the Catholic Church. It does not describe either Orthodoxy or Protestantism.

I had to comment because this is an overlooked point and one of the reasons I'm not Orthodox or protestant. Bashing other members of the body of Christ seems not only wrong but contrary to the goal when there are still so many who aren't even saved into the faith yet.

    • @TsarOrthodoxBro_II
      @TsarOrthodoxBro_II 3 місяці тому +4

If that's your reasoning for choosing Catholicism over Orthodoxy, then by that logic, you would've been a Nestorian between the 9th and 14th centuries, since the Church of the East (Nestorians) was the world's largest church in both numbers and geographical extent, spreading the gospel to unimaginable parts of the world. Sunni Islam has 1.7 billion followers vs Catholicisms 1.3 billion, does that mean we should all become Sunni Islam? During the Arian Controversy, there were way more Arians (layman and clergy) than non-Arians. Also, just like islam, Catholicism spread by the sword 🗡️ ⚔️ 🩸☠️, especially in all the former French, Spainish and Portuguese colonies. Speaking of Islam, the Catholic Church believes that Muslims and Catholics worship the same God, since Vatican 2, and so by yours and the Catholic church's logic, its a safer bet to be a Muslim than a Catholic.

@@jordanp3470 To bash ethnic Churches, is to bash the early Church, and even Catholicism itself. Roman Catholic Churchs used to also defined by ethnicity (Polish Catholic Church, Irish Catholic Church, etc). Back when Rome was still orthodox, all the churches were identified by their local names (even the bible refers to them that way). For example, Church of Rome, Church of Ephesus, Church of Corinth, Church of Alexandria, etc... The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Orthodox Church is the only unchanged Church that has preserved the original ways and teachings. It was the patriarch of Rome who departed from the 7 other bishops/patriarchs (Rome vs Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem Bulgaria, Georgia, Cyprus).

William I’m a former Protestant currently in RCIA. I know I need to be in an Apostolic Church and have been split down the middle between Catholicism and Orthodoxy. The Catholic Church I attend is a Novus Ordo but the community is a little older so there is strange going in there. I attended an Orthodox Church for almost a year and the only thing that prevented me from continuing was the distance. There is no doubt in my mind God is in the Orthodox Church. One of the things I appreciate about the Catholic Church is the daily Mass which allows me to attend 3-4 times a week if I’m out of work in time but there is no comparison in the Mass and the Divine Liturgy of the Orthodox Church. The “Bishop of Rome” document that just released 3-4 weeks ago seemed to concede many points to the Orthodox validating their Synodal structures and sacraments. This was definitely conflicting with Vatican 1 if I’m reading it correctly. The thing with the Orthodox is they know man errors and can live with Bishop mistakes where Rome does not give its self much room for error. What an I supposed to think when I’m being taught one thing but the Church is putting out contradictory information? I just want to be in an Apostolic Church, receive the Eucharist and worship God in Liturgical form.

I love both churches and won't bash either of them, which is actually one of the reasons I went with the Catholic Church. It seemed like the orthodox church I enquired with and visited, wanted me to be anti- Catholic, and I couldn't, in all honesty, do that to her. Their priest also gave me a lot of reasons why he thought I might not want to join their church, none of which had to do with theology. The Catholic priest I met with, asked if I would like to do RCIA classes with him, I said yes, ended up being baptised, and confirmed this Easter vigil 🤍 ✝️

    No Filioque, No Monotheism.
To deny the eternal Hypostatic procession of the Holy Spirit from both the Father and Son, and reduce the Holy Spirit's procession from the Son as a mere temporal energetic procession, which posits a real distinction between the Essence and uncreated energies of God, you have created 2 gods.

Wrong, the Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and Son as taught by the Fathers. Cyril of Alexandria's 3rd letter to Nestorius teaches the Filioque, a letter accepted at Ephesus. Apocalypse of John 22:1 was shown to the Schismatic Greeks twice at Lyons in 1274 and Florence and accepted the Filioque just to return to their vomit.

The schismatic Greeks are blasphemers of the Holy Spirit for rejecting the Filioque. God destroyed your schismatic empire on May 29th 1453, which was the feast of the Holy Spirit, Pentecost Sunday for blaspheming the Holy Spirit for rejecting Florence.
There is no such heresy as a temporal energetic procession of the Holy Spirit from the Son, or an eternal manifestation of the Holy Spirit from the Son. The intratrinitarian operations of the Hypostases with the Godhead are eternal, never temporal.

I've been studying St. John Chrysostom and it's clear what his stance was on who St Peter was and who he is etc. Despite what revisionist history both s8des say it is clear that all patriarchates in the 1st millennium deferred to the Bishop of Rome and knew that the apostolic throne resided there. St. J Chrysostom refertopopoe Innocent as his holy master and is writing to him for aid, comfort and spiritual leadership to which his response is authoritative as one would expect. Be not fooled by ecumenists downplaying or denying such letters, homilies and other sayings that clearly give the true history of the papacy and the Church in that time.

Show me one document from tradition or Ecumenical council where your heretical ecclesiological terminology of Autokefali was used and defined. Its nowhere. Your heretical sect invented this heresy of National Autocephalous sects.
      The Alexandrian document? 😆😆
Of course the Vatican II sect loves you heretics.

The See of Constantinople didn't even exist at the time of the council of Nicaea in 325. 😄😄
Your schismatic "Ecumenical Patriarch" of Constantinople wasn't even a Patriarchal See until Chalcedon in 451 AD.

I love it when Orthobros like you still act like brain dead evangelicals and manifest
if you actually had love in your heart you would pray for the Conversion of heretical Christians
Instead you are treating Orthodoxy like a football team.
