this is NOT how it's done you should make a mash from the pears, let it ferment, then distill pear brandy from it, dilute it to 100 proof, than pour that over your pear in a bottle that's how it's been done for centuries here in europe and that's how I do it
@babalupicapau Not sure. He said it was something his mom made baby food out of when he was little - think that was a long time ago! Also said they were common then. There is nothing made like that now I checked!
Not sure this is schnapps or brandy. All he makes is the pears juice and then add very high proof alcohol to it and calls it ready right away. More like a mixed drink haha

He said "neighbor". Through out clips I have that I did not include he mentions that he really only drinks it when his neighbors come over. And this is what he gives his neighbors. But I haven't trying playing it backwards.
I think he cleaned outside and inside of bottle with the acetone. Then rinsed it out. This weekend I'll check if he still lives there this summer, its at dead-end road so I normally don't travel by.
The alcohol extracts flavor from the pear innside. I beleive that they normally only used alkohol, no pear juice, and then let it sit for atleast 6 months. I dont think that they even added sugar to it so its more like a stiff drink with a little pear taste : P
That is a juice cooker, it consists of 3 parts. Bottom part is a water container, second part is a perforated container for fruit, 3rd (top part) is the juice container. Quite like the moka pot from italy, although somewhat bigger. In norway they sell them at hardware/kitchen supply stores, atleast thats where i bought mine.

Thats awsome but considering its against the law in most of north America to make your own spirit's this is a good alternative
I like moonshine, sugar, and cinnamon! Yummm!!!

Great video sir.
He put it into the bottle when it was still small enough to fit, but left it to grow further... That's how :)
Yes grew it in the bottle.
Twenty minutes on the shelf. Your a drunk. Should be at least a year on the shelf.
Think his hobby was drinking it!
Copy from french farmers
Seems more like a pearchello

@FutureLaugh
I'm pretty sure he meant to say that the acetone goes OUT of the bottle, not in it. But he made a mistake

How did you get a pear in that bottle, old man?
Why do you put acetone in the bottle? I don't understand.
I do the same thing with kittens.
"what you give a NEIGHBOR."
