@@barbaraheed3509 Oh really? Why was he out with his "friends" ringing doorbells? I would love to think he was out spreading random acts of kindness. But no. He wasn't. He was just smart enough to play nice when the ring camera caught him. And then the person who recorded him got her 15 seconds or so. You know what would be kind? Offering to mow someones yard for free, pulling weeds, washing an elderly person's vehicle, opening a door and holding it for a disabled or elderly person. Not going through the neighborhood ringing doorbells, many of which didn't have ring cameras. Perhaps waking up sleeping babies, sick or elderly people or startling someone home alone. Give me a Break! This was mischief and if he was my son he'd be on restriction and all of his "friends" parents would be notified of their behavior. He'd be on a tight rope for some time, not gorified by the media.

People won’t stop imprisoning animals until they stop making a profit from it. Everyone needs to stop paying ticket prices to see animals in ANY park/zoo. True conservation is done in preserves, not behind fences.

I'm an old man now, I spend my winters in Hawaii.If there was a fire warning I would walk as fast as possible to the bus stop and leave the area. If the bus was slow I would call a taxi. If they were late, I would have a short wait to meet Jesus. 🙏

Drove past the gray fire! It was insane. My high school best friend lost her childhood home in the Oregon fire. Just missed my grandparents house. Both fire are still 0% contained and our air quality just hit 500! Prayers for eastern Washington!!

Every year, more and more freak wildfires in places not accustomed to them. More and more freak hurricanes, hitting places that don't usually see them. Tornadoes becoming more and more frequent in the deep south. How anyone can deny the climate is changing is beyond me. I've been on this planet for almost 50 years and I don't remember anything like this.
That wording makes me suspicious when they say "climate change" because that's just a factual statement yeah the climate changes. That's like if coca cola said "more nutrients than water alone" yeah but it's basically just syrup.

So we dumbed it down and called it "climate change," because who could argue with the fact that the climate was indeed changing? I Survived Hurricane Harvey- hoping CA & Mexico are spared the worst. I have family in San Diego, as l told them-Be smart, follow the guidelines for your states Hurricane Emergency Plan!!!Theres no such thing as over prepared. If you haven’t already done, it guys, pull that disaster kit together and fill your bathtubs up with water Monitor the NOAA weather 24 /7!!! Be aware, be smart, stay safe. Hoping the best for you.

Many months ago, there was an elderly lady in the beauty shop when I was getting a haircut. Her hair was curled and combed out. I didn't know her, but said to her: "Your hairstyle looks beautiful!" I cant imagine the stress of that pilot having to deal with traffic knowing that he is going to be late to flight people. The baby seing for first time, the doggie getting his medal, the 13 year old spreading good words made me happy. Made me sad knowing that we humans are the worse species in this life. That pilot, most likely, has been dealing with several stressors in his life that finally reached a boiling point. We don’t know what he’s been dealing with and has to bury and compartmentalize due to his work.

I for one am thankful for the extra water in Las Vegas. Clark county has actually invested into building up floodways to channel the water! We used to flood badly all the time! Hopefully we can save a lot of this water.
Hopefully the channels don't become evaporation channels. It's one thing to intelligently direct water flow, another to protect the much needed water from just evaporating in dry regions.

So very sorry to hear that. I've heard that moist air will help bring air particulates to the ground and help breathing. Perhaps a bit pot of boiling water or sitting in your bathroom, door closed and running the shower on hot will help a bit.

CALIFORNIA… ADVICE… Fill empty jugs now. 24 hours prior too, fill tubs. The tub will be for the toilets! Batteries for radios. Get communications out now and start looking to see if someone in the area has a land line. Park your vehicles high! Get candles! Plan for 1-2 weeks with out power. Be prepared to find entertainment by books, board games, and friends. LEAN ON EACH OTHER. Remember emergency services will be DELAYED. Get your medication in one place.

Be Prapered to Evacuate means having gas in your vehicle, and everything packed, ready to roll out and toss into your vehicle. It does not mean to wait and decide. If one stays, any rescue might be impossible. If they call an evacuation in your area, Go Immediately. Other areas could be called behind yours. Late stragglers and indecisive people can put other people on the designated highways into a parking lot jam.

No, it's good advice. In NYC some years ago Superstorm Sandy had the authorities trying to empty the popular seaside area. My late mother lived there; we packed her a go bag and she was evacuated in good time. Others who wouldn't leave couldn't be rescued; a number died.

Though I enjoy the brief summery of the news, I am always touched by the weekend edition of "There is Good News" because for me it give me such Hope. That in the midst of all that go's on in the world, we all matter and are pulling for each other. In Starman Jeff Bridges says "we are at our best when things are at their worst." I love that final series of "feel good" segments! Made my day (night) a lot brighter and I'm still grinning ear to ear! the young woman passing her nursing exam! (WOW...i had to take a similar test for my profession also in medicine, and you e can't believe how tough they are! To the little boy getting his rx glasses (I'm blind without mine, so awesome!) and that fantastic boy leaving that message of "you matter" ....how fantastic is that? Loved it all, Jose'!
