Critical Incident Briefing - July 4, 2020 - 5600 W. Glenrosa Ave

The Phoenix Police Department has released the body cam footage from an officer-involved shooting that happened in our community on July 4, 2020. The attached video is a summary of the events leading up to and after the shooting death of James Garcia.
This video shows officers interactions with Garcia for the 13 minutes prior to the shooting as well as two unedited one-minute clips beginning from the moment the officer first noticed the gun in Garcia’s hands through the shooting.
Lengthy unedited clips from the body-worn cameras of all five officers’ who were near the car around the time of the shooting are being provided to local media outlets in conjunction with this critical incident briefing for their independent review and publication.
